I think the power room is needed on first floor. I give my best weapons to them and having all 6 of them attack the invaders at once makes it easier to win than the 2 in the vault room. Also it stops the invaders way faster so they steal less resources. Letting them free run across your entire top floor like you suggest allows more stolen resources
No the only free run space with my strategy is the overseers office then you have three radio rooms. The strategy behind radio rooms is dwellers do not gain XP or level up in radio rooms therefore are ideal for Uber Dwellers (max SPECIAL levelled up from 1-50 wearing E+7 endurance wear for the max 644HP) Strength has no benefit in the vault other than for reducing power production time. I've been playing this for 8 years and find the strategy works best for me thanks for the comment

Are you playing survival mode? If so you should check out my survival mode series! Game is way tougher on survival! I’ve never lost a dweller on normal mode, either way it’s frustrating and I feel you as on my survival vault I lost a whole quest squad. In unpublished footage I lose a load in the vault as well!
unless its survival you dont need to leave the top room empty, normal mode is kinda too easy. as long as you have good luck with weapons it is a breeze to play through. my strategy is to always keep the top room populated and without any pregnant dweller. yao guai wont appear until much later and you would already be equiped with good weapon(hopefully) when it arrives, ghouls are kinda annoying if its too early but if you have good weapon its a piece of cake. aliens and raider are easy. the key is to keep your dweller to the minimum amount posible, radio room are kind useless, if you have charisma outfit its better to just make more babies than wait for 1 dweller, i dont bother with making radio room. i usually stop at around 48 dweller its when it unlock all training room, with 48 dweller i would have 3 tripple room power, 1 triple room food, 1 tripple room water, 3 double room meds, 3 double room radaway, 1 tripple room living space, and 1 room living space, storage as much as i need and 1 each of the training room except charisma(the stat is kinda useless at least for me). dont rush to 100 people immediately, its kinda hard to manage at that point. just start training every dweller to max stats of room required, and start training some with endurance and luck for wasteland adventure, max endurance is good for that extra hp and in wasteland they wont need radaway unless they have an encounter. for me this is where i waste most of my time since i want to train all my dweller to max SPEIAL. you can ignore this if you want since you dont really need to get all stats maxed out. the only important ones are just the SEAL for adventure/wasteland, SEL for power room, PL for water, AL for food, IL for med/rad. but for me its better to do this when i only have 48 dweller rather than when i have to deal with 200 dweller in the end game. i also send the dweller in top room to wasteland to max their level since they will stop any threat immediately with everything maxed. i dont know the condition for yao guai to appear but if my theory is accurate, they wont appear at 48 dweller. why double room meds/radaway? - 3 double room occupy same amount of space, but produce more than 2 tripple room. you can ignore this tbh, since i will relocate everything once i reached 100 dwellers. since starting is all about effeciency, also any incident that happen in double room is easier to be managed by only 2 people rather than tripple room which cant be managed by only three. food/water cant keep up? - if you are very unlucky with dweller 1 triple room may not be enough, usually the trick is to have a +5 stats and you can spam this guy with different female so that the child will have extra stats according to the male. you will always get +5 S, P and A in the beggining, try to get +3 children in these aspect and you shouldnt need extra rooms, once you trained everyone to max, the food and water problem should all go away. power cant keep up? - dont build unnecesary room. you dont need radio room, workshop and barbershop in the mid game, hence you dont need normal junk, just sell all of those, they are very easy to get later on too, so you can keep the need of storage to a minimum. sell any outfit you dont need too, at some point, weapon below 5 attack power is useless so sell them too. if you really need to just build an extra tripple room, is Luck necessary? - not really, for me yea, since it increase chances of resources giving caps, if its for wasteland 100% necessary since higher luck = more caps. is SEL important for power room? - yes, your power room should be the first room to be attacked since in your power room lives all the S dweller, meanin they have high attack power. endurance is good for more hp every lvl up, since they are going to be first to be attacked they need better suvivability, L is just bonus. feel free to ask more question. im not the best at this game, but i do feel like i grasp some of the mechanic of the game.

Make sure you return to the main menu before exiting as resource counting (for use not collection) is only supposed to carry on for 3 mins after you close the game!! Thanks for the comment (I've been playing this for 8 years on Mobile and PC on Steam) so once you log back into the game all your resources should be ready for collection and your bars still full. @@KnowitallGaming I have to once more disagree. Maybe what you are not seeing is how overreaching in some ways while being ultra conservative in others is really hurting your progress. I won't be able to craft for a few hours in game simply because I do not want to risk the raids by those things that come with higher numbers of dwellers until I have better equipment. So I sell things I have no use for now, build things I can use, go out on quests and explorations and find the equipment I do need. You build things you really do not need as yet, hold onto junk you will not be able to use for hours and try to make it sound like I am making a mistake? I did get very lucky when I rushed and when I leveled with the two lunch boxes I got there. Even if not for that luck, I would have had the Overseer's Office in much less time than it took you. I will take my mistakes and be in a better place long before you get there. Oh and your thing about no power top level being smarter, the longer invaders are in your vault to more resources they drain. I do all I can to end them as soon as possible. By the time I hit 100 dwellers Death Claws will rarely make it out of that first Power Station. My biggest problem has long been Rad Scorpions because you have no real control of where those might show up. Once I am set Death Claws are my cute wittle pets.
The game will be much harder incidents more frequent and death claws arrive above a pop of 35+ rather than 60+ dwellers. I have done a survival mode series as well. Thanks for the comment

- dont build unnecesary room. you dont need radio room, workshop and barbershop in the mid game, hence you dont need normal junk, just sell all of those, they are very easy to get later on too, so you can keep the need of storage to a minimum. sell any outfit you dont need too, at some point, weapon below 5 attack power is useless so sell them too. if you really need to just build an extra tripple room,
is Luck necessary?
- not really, for me yea, since it increase chances of resources giving caps, if its for wasteland 100% necessary since higher luck = more caps.
is SEL important for power room?
- yes, your power room should be the first room to be attacked since in your power room lives all the S dweller, meanin they have high attack power. endurance is good for more hp every lvl up, since they are going to be first to be attacked they need better suvivability, L is just bonus.

It is the name of the person who mysteriously appears in your vault if you find him and click on him before he disappears you get caps, he is also a perk in other fallout games. Thanks for the comment
What are the typical mistakes? Too many buildings?
Expanding more than needed , too many pregnant dwellers, levelling up rooms too early creating hard to beat incidents. There are many paths to failure lol 😂 thanks for the comment
I have a problem that every time I log off I log on to having no supplies and my dwellers being nearly dead any idea on how I can prevent it (its in the early stages before I can go into the wasteland)
If you are on mobile close the app don’t leave it active in the background. On PC this shouldn’t happen as you have to quit the game anyway! Hope that helps thanks for the comment
@@KnowitallGaming Since the game is based of Irl time it counts everything even when offline so my game keeps running/dwellers eat and drink but I am not there to collect the water and food so they all starve...
(Btw I am on Playstation)
@@eliodergamer issue when game window disappears but game process remains for some reason - kill it manually, otherwise your resource counters might drop to 0. This is not how it is supposed to run when you close the game the only IRL timers to carry on are trips to wasteland training and journeys to or from a quest. On PS if it is a PS5 remember it keeps games in an active state so again make sure you properly quit the game!
@@KnowitallGaming Alright thanks man!
Are you planning to use any of that junk soon or ever? Sell that so you can get those Caps.
Yes, junk is essential later on never sell it I made that mistake in the early days of playing!! Thanks for the comment:)
@@yosemitedan7457 thanks for the comment :)
How do i know if im on survival
The game will be much harder incidents more frequent and death claws arrive above a pop of 35+ rather than 60+ dwellers. I have done a survival mode series as well. Thanks for the comment
I still have like 3 to 4 levels I can build but dont need them. have 150 dwellers right now, and everyone is getting trained. I have 3 complete sets of training rooms, so to start, almost everyone is going to be max fast.
Nice 😊 thanks for the comment
This tutorial gave me 500 dwellers
🤣 thanks for the comment
hold on i’m very confused do you voiceover every single video?
Yup part of the production process I record the game footage then do the voiceover, thanks for the comment
@@KnowitallGaming ahh cool, you do an absolutely amazing job it sometimes seems like it’s not a voiceover!
Why don't u upgrade the rooms rather than building larger rooms...
Upgrading a room increases the difficulty of incidents, so it is best not to upgrade the rooms until your dwellers can handle it 😊 thanks for the comment
👍
🙂
I'm not amused.

pay to win??
Nope I am specifically not buying anything in this series or my mobile series :) so you don't need to spend anything. Thanks for the comment
@@KnowitallGaming It's impossible to survive and reach 100 dwelers without a top up.
right??
@@diamantinomendes99 of course not I have not spent a penny on this series go to the most recent episode pop is 98 🙂 this game is genuinely free to play with no need to spend anything.

@@KnowitallGaming but if you are already at a high level you definitely have to top up in order to survive.
@@diamantinomendes99 we will see as I am taking this series to 200 Dwellers the max 😎
How can you tell what the specials are ?
Click/tap on a dweller and their S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats will show Strength, Perception, Endurance, Carisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck or click/tap on the vault population wheel top left to view all your dwellers you can then sort them by S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats thanks for the comment

How to get Power armor like T-51
Luck mostly as they drop from the free lunchboxes, later in the game if you find the recipe you can craft them in the outfit workshop. Also, there is a questline where you can get power armor as well. Thanks for the comment
@@KnowitallGaming Thanks for the reply bro. Have keep it up your streaming fellow dweller.
