fun fact for other newer furries, scalies are a subspecies of furry reffering to scaled animals. teenage mutant ninja turtles would fall into the scaly category

The ref you were using was definitely a humaniod, and so was the Sona. It can be pretty hard making bugs Anthro so it’s easier to start with things like canines, felines, dragons, really any 4 legged creature.

I was curious about the video and stumbled across it. I really do enjoy the editing and the tone of the video, its very refreshing and got some good chuckles out of me. I will say the first attempt at the fursona is a really nice one. The face is usually one of the most important parts, so I would say to try to make it closer to the animal/species and limiting the human facial features to give it the furry kick you are aiming for.

if you want to make a fursona your likely best bet is to figure out either 1) an animal crossing villager sona 2) get into the warrior cats, wings of fire, or similar book based famdom community somehow(they ARE furries and also everyone who's ever been into warrior cats has An Artstyle every warrior cats fan can recognize it and isn't afraid of stating it I can state this as a fact because I am one) 3) make a sparkle dog, don't worry about it, literally make a mary/gary sue sparkle dog- that's how a LOT of furries start off from what I've heard(myself included)
