Absolutely! Nobody called 911 or asked him if wants help, but after he was missing everybody came for help. People help when you become a sufferer. This is such a shame. There are so many people in the world. If we help one another we will not be in pain.
Sometimes people are having a medical issue (stroke) and only appear intoxicated. America is chock full of good people. Don’t be afraid to offer assistance, or call 911.

I had a situation like that at a camp ground. The 30 something year old offered me a drink of whiskey. I took the bottle and told him I'd trade it for his truck keys. He game me the keys, I kept the bottle and made him go lie down in the truck. I didn't give the keys back til the next morning. I hope I saved a life.

It was really no one's fault not even Riley's. I cannot tell you how many times I have gotten pass out drunk and by the grace of God made it home safely. They were just kids having a good time. They had no clue that night was going to end up tragic for Riley. I heart goes out to his family. 😢😢

The debit card was probably right at the river's edge from when he fell in and then became visible when the water receded. It's frustrating that rumors abound and people are so quick to criticize law enforcement--playing armchair qb. Law enforcement and first responders do SO MUCH for citizens and are limited in resources (politics), especially in a major tourist & partying city where people don't always make good choices. NMPD did not cause this situation, but they were doing everything possible to help. Prayers for this family and everyone who was so deeply invested in the search. HUGS
Police departments across the US are over funded, especially in large cities and obviously, the police didn't cause this situation. I think it's apparent that the criticism people have are for the bar and his "brothers".

Every single person in our group left, we weren't particularly happy about leaving, but we all left with the guy who got kicked out. Not gonna lie, we were annoyed with him (he was the boyfriend of our friends), but we still all left with him.
I can only hope that much is learned from this tragedy. Riley Strain law should be passed to hold bars accountable for how they treat patrons. There is absolutely no excuse for kicking someone out of a bar in that condition. They should have called an ambulance to make sure he was ok and not suffering from alcohol poisoning, or another substance put in his drink.
I do wonder what the "friends" feel in all of this. I can remember being in my twenties and drinking a little more than my body can handle but always having a friends to walk me home. I did the same for her because that's what real friends do. Fake friends letting him go on his own, phony cops letting this poor, young man walk the streets in his state, people casually walking by and noticing but doing nothing. A female was pulled from the river last week. Riley on Friday. Earlier this week, a homeless man fell into the river breaking his leg. He is doing well now.
