During this search, they found a deceased woman and also a live senior man who was calling for help in the river. Thank goodness they heard him and rescued him during this search for Riley. To Riley's parents or anyone who knows them, please ask them to get a private autopsy done on Riley. Don't believe whatever they want to say? First, the authorities were not moving fast enough with the case because they had no idea the scale of attention it had. Then, the volunteers did most of the work searching, and now they are quick to say it was an accident without first getting the results from the autopsy. There is a pattern of these deaths occurring in that area. There are one too many accidents happening there. Quickly get a private autopsy to verify if Riley had a drug in his system. They need to look for injuries in certain areas that will tell if it was an accident or otherwise. Give Riley justice because if not, people will continue to have the same experience. Perhaps Nashville needs a new law enforcement team that takes an interest and considers the high level of adding more lights and a high gate to secure the river and the surrounding area. Also, better-definition cameras should be added to produce clear pictures, not blurred images of people passing by. If you cannot see people's faces on camera, how do you hold perpetrators accountable during a murder? Add more cameras that work, and that area needs regular patrolling not only during certain hours or when there is a car break-in.

next month it will be 18 years since I lost my only son, & I still feel like how Riley’s mom is expressing, you just never get over it

The absolute worst thing anyone can endure is the loss of a child, no matter the age. My sincerest sympathy goes out to the family.
This is just heartbreaking. Any loss of a child is totally devastating. My heart aches for this family. I do know what it feels like and they will never be the same. You lose part of your heart. So many questions to be answered. Lean on God; he’s the only one that can give you the strength to go on. Nothing helps, but knowing my daughter is with God, does help me; because I will one day be with her. 🙏

To Riley's parents or anyone who knows them, please ask them to get a private autopsy done on Riley. Don't believe whatever they want to say? First, the authorities were not moving fast enough with the case because they had no idea the scale of attention it had. Then, the volunteers did most of the work searching, and now they are quick to say it was an accident without first getting the results from the autopsy. There is a pattern of these deaths occurring in that area. There are one too many accidents happening there. Quickly get a private autopsy to verify if Riley had a drug in his system. They need to look for injuries in certain areas that will tell if it was an accident or otherwise. Give Riley justice because if not, people will continue to have the same experience. Perhaps Nashville needs a new law enforcement team that takes an interest and considers the high level of adding more lights and a high gate to secure the river and the surrounding area. Also, better-definition cameras should be added to produce clear pictures, not blurred images of people passing by. If you cannot see people's faces on camera, how do you hold perpetrators accountable during a murder? Add more cameras that work, and that area needs regular patrolling not only during certain hours or when there is a car break-in.

My heart has broken for all of Riley's family. I have prayed for all of you constantly. We will never understand why this had to happen, but I think of Heaven and how wonderful it will be that no tragedies or loss of loved ones will we ever have to endure there. If only one of his friends had walked him back to the hotel or called a ride for him...maybe another life will be saved by remembering how this ended for Riley and his family.

He most likely had a head injury… he also kept running.. I think he fell in.. had his bank card in his pocket ☹️

I can’t imagine losing my baby that I carried within me and birthed…..I can only do what Riley’s Mum asked, and that’s hug our babies tight and never take a day for granted. My heart breaks for this everyday, normal family that was thrust into this nightmare and taught us, oh for the grace of god go we. Hugs to them all.

Moms when they lose their child. It must be a feeling we have because I said hug your children your family cause you still can. It is what we wish we could still do. At the time I didn’t know other moms felt the same way said the exact same words. God bless all. This pain will never end. Just get a bit easier to live each day.
I hope changes to the bars nationwide can be made so this does not happen to someone else's child. If you can promote and sell alcohol, then you can promote safety. Assure if someone is too drunk to be in your bar, that they are safely escorted home.
