Another good video. Always enjoy them. Just bought a damaged Mini cooper s. Its a subframe off job. Going to be rebuilding it using those Powerflex bushes you fitted on yours.
G, great vid again ... . Seems this pump is dead on my e61 lci 2009 with codes 009b2e/009b32/00e71d , symptoms i got : no heat anymore, no more blowing air either (blow motor could have died at same time maybe) thermostat, waterpump and water valve dual zone are all new. But one thing bothers me : i don't have a REST button. And when looking at the bmw diagram, well, with this pump looks to be present ! .... Seems like it's possible to have this pump even if you don't have rest button ... guess it does it by default or something.
Tried repairing mine, pointless, I've never used the rest button ever! But I can see it being very useful if ya live somewhere where the weather's way below freezing during winter? then it's a pretty cool feature
Pierburg seem to make all the little OE, secondary/auxiliary water pumps for German cars. I changed something similar on my Audi diesel that pumped coolant around the EGR system. Tiny little thing but around £100. 😀
George, the code ista is showing about No cummunication possible with DSC > No warning light on the dash?? Or did you disconnect some cables? The other codes: AUC sensor, replace it ~50 pounds, error gone. Fogging sensor: i did some research coz i got the same code on my BMW. It's a tiny sensor located on the bottom of the rear view mirror and is crazy expensive (135 euro) for what it is supposed to do. I leave it broken, it is what it is. See if you can get a used mirror maybe? The DME2 code: Downstream O2 sensor is on its way out maybe. Nice video, can't wait to see the other things you did on the N73 😊👍
The DSC is not a problem, it’s just because I ran the test with the engine running.. the fogging sensor and AUC sensor fault codes are nothing too, just need the LCI climate panel coding
Hi George I drive an x3 2017 , seems as if there is a miss or jerkiness sometimes, what do you think it might be , dirty fuel ,Filter or maybe injector 2.0 diesel.any advice would be appreciated. Have added liquid moly cleaner to the fuel tank it has helped but still has a miss.
Gorge i hope u can help me, i have a bmw e60 lci 2008 n47 2.0 diesel, issue i have is when the car is cold it sudders in acceleration when im trying to stay a certain speed, but once the car is warm it drives perfect with no isssues, car starts on the button when its cold
Could be anything. Sort of hard to tell you based on just a shudder. It could be related to the transmission locking up earlier while the engine isn't fully warmed up. The load will cause you to experience some feedback. There is also the possibility that you have a badly plugged intake manifold. Carbon and soot will heavily coat the inside of the EGR inlet pipe, intake and anti shutter value. Diesel engines will always run better once fully warmed.
Buy Bimmer Link and a Blutooth adapter, I had this issue and it was one of my thermostats, dont ask why one would do this but i have a 07 LCI n47 so a year younger than yours. 160k mi on the clock. I regularly run cleaners through my engine and the first year of doing it really did help performance and mpgs. Best thing I did was buy a scan tool for my car.
Love the 760Li - such a fantastic and unique car
Agreed!
I have been told that it also runs at low engine idle speed to assist the heat in the cabin.
Great video! I wish you luck with the e46.
Thanks, I’ll be working on that tomorrow
good job, always like to see this kind of content, well done buddy
Glad you enjoyed it!

Good to hear!
Nice one George👍 big v12 bruiser
I replaced the bushes on mine for less than a fiver. The pump remains in situ and no coolant is lost. That’s what usually fails on these pumps.

i have one of these pumps on mine and also no rest button. that is normal on some models
@@jordandoesmx9862 nice to know.
Btw in my case it was the blower that died. And still have the weird codes of the aux pump.
Good work.
Really useful a top video
Cheers mate

Yeah pretty much spot on, I hate having errors on my car also though!
It's useful if you're a taxi driver. Or if you have a wife that likes shopping.

Yep, just had to get one for my Mini Cooper S too👍🏻
what if I'm in a warm country and don't use the heater?? what will it do then?

Did you actually test the rest function after doing this job
Not yet
Why does it need a REST button tho?
To drain your battery in the middle of winter

B47s suffer from EGR valves and they cause that jerkiness especially when slowly accelerating.
@@piovo1 Thank you so much , that was on my list also and yes it happens when slowly accelerating, appreciate the info will let you know how I get on.
Probably subject to an EGR recall and software update give your dealer a call (works free if required)
@@philcrampton4231 Seriously ,do you think I should give them a call ? Cars 5 years old and 90k on it.
@@peterperry5378 yes well worth a call

Check your EGR valve and cooler.
Try some good quality injector cleaner also.

My guess is either glow plugs or an injector issue.
Did you have to bleed the air in the pump?
Nope👍🏻
@@GeorgeAusters Excellent! Thanks for the reply! :) And the guide too! :)
@@RichardDzien You’re welcome!
@@RichardDzien Sorry thought this was the secondary air pump video lol.. Yes you will need to bleed the coolant system after introducing air into it!
@@GeorgeAusters Ahh, OK. No worries. Will do that too! :)
You should really put bmw 760li in your description. Gotta work the algorithm. Don’t let up on this RUclips shit
This is not 760 specific, it’s on loads of different BMWs👍🏻
@@GeorgeAusters i think 4 cyl dont have it
How can you ask for a like before the video in the viewers haven't seen it yet wouldn't it make more sense to ask for a like at the end of the video?
A lot don’t watch until the end👍🏻
@@GeorgeAusters oops great answer never thought of that
Bmw main dealer quoted me £390 just to replace my thermostat on my 335d 😆
