For me, it really depicts the feeling of being stuck and repeating the same awful things over and over, or relapsing, and wanting to get out of it, but having happen so often to you makes you feel hopeless. You want to get out of that downward spiral, and really, you're trying the best you can. You keep track of the number of days you're clean and you know you're struggling. Yet no one seems to notice. And no matter how hard you try, there's that one night where you'll "do it all again".
I love the reference to protagonist and antagonist cause it gives the feeling that you don't feel important to anyone's story, not even your own, as if you're a background character and simply waiting for something interesting to happen. At this point, you're just waiting for the crash, and so you slowly detach yourself from reality just to try and numb down this feeling. You don't feel like yourself anymore, and at this point you're simply watching all the scenes happen.
As someone who has been there, this song touches my soul on a deep level. I really hope those who relate to this song find brighter days, just like I did.
So pretty! This may be a weird comparison, but the song is like sinking slowly under still water. That’s the vibes I got and I absolutely love it 💙
Perhaps It is like a distortion based time loop it doesn't reverse time it distorts it back it rippling everything back everything is redone and rerolled, if so I can relate but I caused those not as a protagonist but as a unaware villain.
to me, this really depicts how it feels to have like a trauma disorder w dissociation. the whole part of "where's the protagonist? Where's the antagonist?" makes me think of though many years may pass, the memories are still there, replaying in vivid detail. they don't even feel like your own memories, it's like you're watching someone else's experiences, and you feel detached from everything and everyone. even though these memories aren't really "your own", it still hurts and it's sickening and you just want it all to be over. even the idea of a time loop really makes me think of trauma and how with like PTSD, the re-experiencing symptoms are like being stuck in a time loop that never ends. the way the song sounds too- i saw someone else describe it as like "sinking slowly under still water". to me, that can be how dissociation can feel. i just- idk i love this song and i think you did a great job :3 hope ur doing well!!
EDIT: actually even with the "i'm sneaking out the back" and "i think days are passing" makes me think of dissociation a lot as well - the whole idea of like sneaking out from your own life, and being unable to even really process time pass normally thanks to the Severe Dissociation is just - yeah anywho i love this song its great
this song is so calming to listen to. i love how the time loop theme is expressed in the song's structure..it feels like the character keeps walking in circles with no escape

The piano in the instrumental is gorgeous- it really adds to the idea that she's accepted her fate. I love the growing sense of futility as the song goes on too. The "where's the protagonist" verse and the verse that's just "again and again" really hammer it home.
