    2 Things:
    1) the fender ducts are for transmission and oil cooler rads not brakes
    2) the ASC doesn’t go on and off. The sound increase is from the intake opening up at around 3500 rpms.

    I love this engine, when you look at it it's all METAL and not plastic.

    I'd take this over an M5 or a E63 AMG anyday ...bcuz i'll be driving it everyday while the BMW and Merc will spend half its life at the Dealership ... Great Review!

      @Crow Killer
      lots of lexuses/lexi get 400,000 miles with ease.
      Your m5 won't, because it's a product of planned obsolescence, dumdum

    As a former Isf owner I am quite liking it. I had the Isf for 4 yrs zero problems the 86 price is kinda high if the price drops maybe 10k then it's quite reasonable. For 86 k there are better options you are almost crawling into tesla p90d

    The sound coming "on" is the variable valve timing" I also agree with you about the weird colored stitching. I'd want it to match a little bit better.

    Dammit Sam! You can't release your video review the same time as Alex from Alex on Autos does. You guys are both my favorites, and it was like Sophie's Choice trying to decide which one I would watch first lol. In all seriousness, if money was no option, this or the Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack?

    I was suprised to hear the ride quality is on the stiff side, because i always thought lexus had the best ride quality among its rivals. so my question is, can this be your daily driver? how does it feel in town. Thanks for the great reviews. subbed.

    Lmfao the sound of a ticket being earned! If it was an M5 or E63, that would be the sound of escaping a ticket!

    The electronically controlled torque vectoring differential (or TVD) is the best thing about this car, to be realistic, its engine is an updated version of the last gen IS F, so, instead of a new IS F model, we get the GS F, remember Lexus used to have the GS 460 (V8 with less power), but the biggest problem with this car is its price, seriously, for that kind of money the CTS Vseries hands down, if you want the Lexus by all means buy it, just never try the new gen CTS Vseries or others at the light or anywhere, both are great cars, it’s just that the CTS Vseries really competes with the likes of cars like the BMW M5, it’s like comparing the Cadillac CTS Vsport to a BMW M5, the GS F competes with cars like the 5 Series M550i, CTS Vsport and E-Class AMG E43, , h___ you could probably throw in any naturally aspirated rwd V8 sedan like Chevy SS, Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300C, Hyundai Genesis or others

    C'mon Lexus, put a fucking set of two turbo chargers on it, so it makes at least 650 bhp, make it lighter a bit and call it rs or whatever.. Because this only could have been AMG, Audis RS competitor YEARS ago.. This car has so much more potential!

      NA engines have better response.

    • @kagolko
      @kagolko 8 лет назад

      Have u ever driven something like golf gti?! It has only v4 turbo, having its peak torque at 1900 rpm already - and a having better response than ANY V6.. Sooo. Not. It's not 1990's anymore bro.

    • @mrmementofinis
      @mrmementofinis 8 лет назад +3

      +kagolko This V8 after 10 years will be good...V4 turbo will be dead:)

    • @ciello___8307
      @ciello___8307 8 лет назад

      +kagolko The chief engineer of this car kept the V8 for response (response, not torque) and sound (ok, makes sense). I was also disappointed that the GS F wasn't going for all performance, but I think if Lexus continue in this way, they could create their own performance niche.

      You mean Toyota? 😂 Lexus is not a company. Scion and Lexus are just Toyota brands. The Lexus ES, Toyota Avalon are built on the Camry K Platform. The Lexus IS300 was sold in Japan under the Toyota nameplate and the Lexus ES was badged as Toyota Wisdom in Japan.

      Cars are just getting more and more expensive. Just look at a decked out civic. 27k lol. Midsize trucks are closing in on the 40k mark. It's getting pretty ridiculous.

      Reliability isn't cheap to engineer. You still pay for the ability to have trouble free ownership. However I'd rather fork out the cash for that than 10% more performance .

    No apple carplay... Why Lexus are you behind even Mazda, GM or even Hyundai for something that should be a no brainer, having your phone connect to your cars so you can enjoy seamless connectivity while you enjoy the drive.

  • @ChristopherWalkenPUA

    No doubt lexus is high quality, but it seems you were having much more fun in the dodge charger scat pack review which costs half as much. And what's with lexus not putting rear seat USB outlets in a $86k car? It can't cost more than $10 to run a wire through the center console for the rear USB chargers, don't be cheap lexus.

    • @TestDrivenTV
      @TestDrivenTV  8 лет назад +1

      +Christopher .WalkenPNW The Dodge Charger ScatPack did make the I'd buy it list. And for $86k, you have have two of them ;)

    I make 130k a year and I can't afford this(comfortably). Will have to wait for a used one for about 45k in a few years I'm guessing.

    • @apt62

    • @killabandit
      @killabandit 7 лет назад

      Some got a new one for $60k, and used ones with a few k on them for around that as well. For making $130k, you should easily be able to afford this car. I can afford it and I make half of what you do.

    The German cars are much faster than this car is. Way over priced. The CTS V is just 5k more with a lot of standard features but also has a lot more performance too.
