    I hope the Polish and Russian modding scene takes a good look at Dirty Swamp, because the Dirty Swamp boss fights were absolutely excellent.
    The thing that needs to improve the most in a Gothic 2 remake is 100% the dragon fights. As Mr. Mike Hoge, formely Piranha Bytes, once said: "Ja, die Drachen waren scheisse".

      I think he's talking about the setting,no? Dragon setting was shit compared to the unique g1 setting

    i guess boss fights would need to be costly. that is resources intense. but i dont think we can drink potions during fights in remake. at least not easily with some keys... because using few potions in a boss fight would be nice.

      Imo, if a battle is so hard it implies drinking health potions galore in the middle of it, it's really lame design.
      Vanilla is difficult enough. Returning 2.0 and (apparently) some other mods that followed the same path went overboard with this insane stat/difficulty upscaling. It's Gothic, not some goddamn dark souls.

      @@Leonion6 yes mods did go crazy as far as i could see. but also i suppose you cant have boss battle over in 5 seconds either. some balancing is needed.

      @@rajonokirpykla new balance has amazing features and some are way better than hiver on a mechanical level. Too bad it shares the returning lore which in my eyes downgrades it a lot (I don’t like returning fan fiction)

    yes, but it needs to be balanced. I gave up l'hiver around chapter 4 after feeling like I'm poking the orc elites with toothpicks. It's rather annoying to have to min-max so hard and know all the secrets and exploits in order to complete the game. This seems like artificially increased difficulty, with no regard or relation to the player's current stats. You came here underpowered? Too bad, I guess you just have to run around like a headless chicken and just chip at this boss for an hour, scum saving along the way. Good luck!

      Personally I’m waiting for M4sty’s next LHiver version which will be called Eternal. It will have difficulty options if I’m not mistaken, so hopefully no more killing the entire bandit camp and other BS like that for EXP so you can advance in the story.

      Yes it’s a really hard mod but it’s ment to be made for hardcore veterans which look for a challenge.

      @@m4djoker890 I don't mind min-maxing, but having to kill quest NPCs after you're done with them only to get some more EXP feels kinda off, unimmersive.

    Nah, those "all-last-10-years-games-assets-in-gothic" mods are not a good conception. ESPECIALLY returning lol. Let Gothic just be the Gothic. The difficulty should come from the arcade style of play and not spamming with casted demons lol In other words - it should come from the quality of the opponent, not quantity.

      @@MaartenVaanThomm sure and the quality of the opponent in the original was lacking, because the entire “fight the new beliar’s avatar” turned out to be just a 1 v 1 sword fight with additional lightning on the player.
      This hiver version tries (and imo succeeded) in making the fight much more interesting. Sure a remake would have much more funds, developers and assets to improve drastically the original fight even tho it also could get inspiration from this modded version for something. Different phases for starters, which the mod adds.
