Fun fact I just found out: the (lead?) writer for the Gothic Remake is the mastermind behind the world's greatest mods Nehrim (oblivion) and Enderal (Skyrim) from the SUREAI modteam, and it all makes soooo much sense. Playing these games (calling them simply a mod I feel like is an insult) It was clear as day that gothics were a huge inspiration and now him getting hired by Alkimia to write for the gothic remake is coming full circle, or a match made in heaven if you will. I feel like this remake is in really good hands, and theres a good chance it will be worthy to carry on Gothic's torch.
Isn’t it fascinating that there's a high chance that the Remake is in BETTER hands right now, than it would be at Piranha Bytes itself? Not because PB is closed now, but because they failed to deliver the vibes of Gothic1 for years, and failed to listen to community feedback (unlike the Alkimia team!!)
It's 50/50. He was also a writer for Spellforce 3 and some of the game's biggest fans hate him for heavily distorting the game's lore. When I told one of them Litzau is now working on G1 remake, his reaction was "oh no, Gothic is f***ed". He also wrote at some point in his discord that he hates SF franchise "from the bottom of his heart", "it's such a bullshit universe and such a pain to write for it" followed by "the community is so toxic". He later deleted those comments but I still have a screenshot. Basically, the guy has his own mindset and ideas and couldn't care less about "doing the homework" and respecting the original game. So unless he just happens to like Gothic, don't expect any respect for the game or its fans.
@@sternenherz Piranha Bytes that closed was just a shadow of the former self. Most of the people working there moved to other studios. The obsession with Elex and reinventing the wheel with each game killed them.
Thanks for the extra information on Gothic Remake! I'm a massive Gothic fan and this is one of my most anticipated games and seeing Cohh getting to play the Nyros demo made me giddy with excitement to get back into Myrtana again.
Attributes being simply weapon unlockers and not really adding to damage is plain stupid. Makes no sense at all. It's what I hated the most about Elex. If a muscular body builder hits you a stick, it will hurt a lot more than if a frail skinny man does so.
@@eatpurrmeow on the other hand, by following your example, if a thin non muscular person stabs you with a knife, the outcome will be similar. Not to mention that above all, gameplay > realism, but again as I said I’m really not sure of this part, as I explained in the video. If I can imagine a reason why this method could be implemented, I would say that it could be used in order to avoid people being extremely op in case they focus on one stat only, therefore breaking the game’s balance. It seems clear to me that they want to give the player the possibility to multi class or go hybrid, thing that even in the og was very doable. Who knows I guess we’ll need more specific information about this one, in any case thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Regarding your point on Uriziel, it's confirmed even in the original game that its power comes from the Blue Gem stone set in it, and can be turned into a Magical Rune. This is why I assume you'll be able to transfer the rune into any weapon type in the Remake, keeping its power
True good idea, maybe they’ll “just” allow you to transfer the stone to another weapon like bows or maces.. hopefully not just any weapon and hopefully just once otherwise it will lose its epicness

I would also add peas, and yes this technique works for any sauce. Add like a cappuccino cup of water from the pan, but ofc he sure to keep the fire on and make it dry so to form a cream
@@m4djoker890 AS long as it's a ready-to-play game with all the love and care it deserves, idm waiting another 1-2 years. Lately the gaming industry is going to a constant hiatus and getting good single player games is very rare.
@@NikosGee Keep in mind tho, that even if they started from scratch, this entire project started 5 years ago and that's a long time already for developing a game. Add to that another 2 years and well I could see if the company starts pushing for a release before time. Officially the entire project is funded but we really never know what's behind the scenes.. Obviously, as I also said to the boys after the interview, I wish them the best possible and all the time needed to remake this masterpiece!
@@m4djoker890 I remember like it was yesterday when i tried the demo with the "For Honor" directional combat system. I had such a good laugh 😂 looking at how they massacred my boy! Right now we are in a good direction I want to believe!
Its not a fast paced combat system as sekiro that’s for sure but imo everything I played really feels like gothic. Imo they are trying to combine g1 combat with a little bit of the g3 style which by slowing things gives the player a chance to actually react to enemies instead of needing to know exactly the enemy pattern in order to block the attacks.
great video, hopefully the remake is as good as you described it, hell if possible even better, we deserve a good gothic game finally after years of waiting
Stealth action was actually a cut feature of the OG game. Most common thing I hear on why they did that was because it was OP and there are leftover animations and data for it that modders reimplemented but it's just a 1-shot mechanic so ... xD
hybrid characters sounds fun but how will damage work? best would be bonus damage based on character level or something so that even if you dont specialize you are still good. as that is gothic 1 style when specialization was not even an option from start
nobody mentions that that lake at exchange point... it doesnt look there is place where somebody can be thrown into the lake. like no proper room above it

Do you know if they are going to dub the game? Steam says yes, so Im hoping we get the classic voicelines in Polish and German and etc. I hope they reuse the old dialogues the same way they use OG anvil sounds etc.
The game will certainly be dubbed in English polish German Russian. New actors because most of the og are old and some passed away. I heard that they will try to hire old voice actors when it’s possible
I got a plane to go there because was told that filming was allowed, but it was a big misunderstanding on their side, which can happen with events this big. In order to show their will to make things right, I was invited to meet an Alkimia dev and could try the demo for one hour in a special room, and at the end of the day this was a better outcome to my journey (I say this at the end of the video)
Nah all good, I just beated an impossible elden ring challenge (will try to make a follow up to that video btw) flew to Germany and stranded still in line for 6 hours
but orc city will not come back... if i understand correctly only more orcs possible with some buildings will be in front of temple of the sleeper. but not the underground part.

i do not know you but you look like gothic remake character not being able to run away from monsters is great and it create natural "barrier" so you can not just pass stron enemy and take a loot that is behind him that hi guard
Exactly you're right! Its like the old formula of enemies blocking your way (even tho with some experience you could perhaps lose them) but on modern terms!
