Excellent tasting bird for sure and probably the hardest to hit the way they shuck and jive coming in. Not sure what buddy is talking about sucking to clean, I clean them like any other duck.
@@-B_G- He’s talking about how they are greasier and you can’t peal the feathers as easily as you could on most other ducks
The mature ones have great flank feathers for fly tying, too.

My first year waterfowl hunting here in northern KY. Been 3 days so far on early duck/ geese and only seen 2 mallards. From what I understand we don't get many woodys & widgions. But I have been watching so many of your videos to help me prepare, thank you for all the range if content surrounding this sport!

Hello Bobby and the wildfowlers, what a lovely place to shoot duck! Everyone seemed to shoot well and you did a good job as retriever! There were some really good shots from Drew with the 20 gauge, and Gerald obviously did a good liaison job with the farmer to get you permission to shoot there!As always we missed Fred on the retrieves, he would possibly have been alright there, Bobby. Nice and steady and the water to take his weight! It would be a good place for you to take Beth, Bobby, for her first duck hunt. A good bag laid out at the end of the day. This is my first year to ever duck hunt. First you to ever hunt anything actually. I’m hooked!!!! I wake up Monday morning thinking about Saturday and Sunday. It’s been slow going in central Oklahoma so far this year, but I’m hoping we get a push as the year comes to an end.

Bobby please give Fred a chance to show you how he will recover from these small water hunts. My old Darlin with same hip issues was able to hunt water 1 to 2 days a week without pain. She did eventually have surgery but after her recovery time she hunted small water hunts until 12 years old. Her ashes are spread on our favorite pond where we experienced epic 1 and 2 man hunts many times. Keep up the good work and if you ever want some new water we have 10,000 acres in Greenwood county. I lost my DUX call like those at the beginning of this season. Easily my favorite call ever. Decoy wrapped around it and broke it off. She now sits at the bottom of Back Bay. Sad times lol.
