It's a spring-fed channel essentially. They rarely freeze so they can be good hunting late season.

Whoa! I thought you were using the 12 ga! Those experimental #7 & 9 TSS 18 Salt Creek do the job, and isn't it nice to hunt with a nice family, complimentary and complementary, I wish I could say the same thing with nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews but FAMILY!??!?!
