great looking plane! Do you mind if I use a image from the video in some ArduPilot release announcements? The photo of the old porter I tend to use is a bit dated, and this plane against the sky looks great
Leaving the captions on the screen a bit longer would be nice. Sucks trying to watch the video, read the caption before it times out and having to rewind.
Amazing build! What is your takeoff weight? Do you think it's a good platform for mapping with a 500-gram payload (mapping camera) and at least 1 hour of flight time? Is there free space inside the fuselage for a mapping camera and a bigger battery? Thanks!
My takeoff weight with 6s-5000 battery was about 3700g. Designer listed 6KG max takeoff weight so your camera should be no problem. Plenty of space in the fuselage as well. The plane was intended to have 4 lift and 1 pusher motors, running on 2 separate battery packs. Example setup would be small Lipo for liftoff/landing, and 21000mah Li-ion for hours of forward flight. Only problem with this airframe is the lack of landing gear, so you will need to build a landing gear to clear the underbelly camera. They also designed the "Viper" which has 3 motors with camera bay and landing gear, which might be better suited for your need. ruclips.net/video/32AOw3QLhmQ/видео.htmlsi=YBN9MgtHZuraX71d
Beautiful - excellent work! Just about to assemble all the printed parts for the Cobra (LWPLA) and considering using tilt rotors in front too. Got any tips or close up photos of your setup? Is the tilt mechanism from one of the other Titan VTOLs or something you designed your self?
Thanks! The tilt is from Titan Viper with the boom mount enlarged to fit Cobra's booms. It basically uses a pair of robotic arm servos like these: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CMBMWZW
the cost, complexity, and weight of an additional motor + ESC. But for long distance mission the 5+1 configuration is favorable as the single pusher motor can sip very little current. Ardupilot is much more configurable and reliable for VTOL application as it's matured over last decade.
Wouldn't the weight of the joint on the two forward motors be too great a weight penalty to be worth it? Plus you then need to power 2 motors for forward flight, and they can't be optimised for both hovering and forward flight.
estoy armando uno 4+1 me falta comprar la electronica, me recomiendas hacerlo como el tuyo?????? y si me envias los paramentros te agradeceria, es el primer modelo que armo y comprare la Radio 16S gracias
Which boarding pass did you use? What software did you use in the boarding pass? I want to use these engines Sunnysky x2826 1080kv. Do you think it will be a problem?
This video was untuned maiden flight. Since then I've enabled notch filter and ran autotune to make it more locked in. Also added feed forward and did some manual tuning to eliminate the yaw wag.
That there is my dream machine, I will be looking into building this someday. Great video and thanks for sharing to all of us.
Thats really awesome. Great looking plane!
Absolutely gorgeous.... Great work!
This looks Fantastic! Great Job!
This is a very nice build. Thank you for the video.
Very very veeeerrrrryyyy NICE!!! Radio 16S !!!!
Where did you get those cool looking Ardupilot stickers?

I'd be honored! I can send you a higher resolution photo if needed. Let me know!
@@hobbyconceptthanks! a high res photo would be great on discord if you don't mind
@@AndrewTridgellHome You got it! Sent you a message on Adrupilot forum.
Cool design! What are the flight times you are getting?
Getting around 10 minutes with 6s-5000 lipo. But it's designed to take 6s4p 21700 Li-Ion packs for much longer flight.
@@hobbyconceptMy first thought is to mount solar panels into wings 🎉
Badass! Is this in Santa Clarita somewhere?
Orange County in So Cal
Nice work! I kind of wish I did that instead of 4+1 on mine!
Not difficult to convert.
Great looking!
How did you fixed forward motors to the carbon tubes? Designed an adapter? Could you please share more details, thank you
Really good at fly

sorry about that. Somebody complained the subs on last video was too long. That's why I shortened it.
thats awesome
How long does it stay in the air with this setup?

Nice job!
Please explain the main reason for using Lumenier 51 amps BLHeli_32 ESC.
Please share your print settings for ABS. Thank you
No particular reason other than cost and availability. Now that BLHeli_32 is no longer supported, I'd get something else.
Amazing Maiden flight!!! Is there any significant different in flying performance between Ardupilot 4.4 and 4.5?
Thanks!!!
It's a dev version so no difference yet.
Thanks!!!
Nice

What is the advantage of eliminating the pusher motor, in terms of flight autonomy? Will you use Inav 7 in future?
