Troy was performing with them as a session musician from 2007 and was made a full time member at the same time as Floor in 2013

Hi Lanae. Yes, they are speaking in Finnish. Four Finnish guys. one Englishman and, of course, the flying Dutchwoman in the band. They only speak in Finnish when it's the four Finns around - they converse in English when everybody is present. And yes, they do jump backwards and forwards in time on this - Floor got on board in October 2012.
For a Dutch person Finnish is a really hard language, because it is not related to any Western European language. But then she cougared young Hannes and moved to Sweden instead. It''s her own fault she knows so many languages! I think Troy can only swear and say dirty words in Finnish (but I might be wrong) But to get to the point: In other documentaries you'll see it is not a hard rule that no-one speaks Fnnish in the presence of Floor and Troy. Marko's intro talk and the bluesy guitar bit was from the song Slow Love Slow. A bit of jazz sung by Anette ( check out them playing it at a Jazz festival in Europe) with Jukka playing drums with brushes. The soaring vocal ending sung by Floor a couple of weeks after joining the band in Fort Lauderdale Oct 2012 sounded very Pink Floyd like at the end.
Yes, they had a female singer here. Annette, or "Nettie" as some call her. It's just that, after the breakup, there were, understandably, scorched feelings. She demanded, through her lawyers, that she not be heard or seen in the documentary. So you don't see her not because she isn't there but just because they had to do creative editing to skirt around that restriction. After the Denver Debacle, Annette came back for one more show (I think it was Salt Lake City), and then they fired her. That was the point at which they called Floor in an emergency to fly from Amsterdam to Seattle and rescue them. If I recall correctly (?) the call interrupted her at her sister's wedding. /// Troy Donockley (doe-NOCK-lee), as you inquired, is a Brit. He worked with the band for quite a few years in a supporting role (as you see here) but was not an official member yet. Troy was asked to join as the official sixth member of the band at the same time as was Floor.
Regarding your question, they're all from Finland except for Floor (Netherlands) and Troy (England) The documentary is in Finnish. Obviously, they need to communicate in English because four of them are Finnish, one Dutch and one British. Cheers from CHILE!!!
This was with Anette and they said in the beginning they were not allowed to show or hear Anette in the making of this . You will enjoy the last part the best its with Floor. they are speaking in there native language Finnish . Troy became a full member with Floor in 2013. NOTE : Annnete is swedish, Troy in British , Floor is Dutch
I think the tour started in March of 2012 in Finland. In October of 2012 there were problems and Anette was fired. They needed Floor to finish the tour (August/September) of 2013.
There are a few instances where the audiences have signs referencing Anette and in a fleeting moment there is a shot from a vehicle at a promo billboard and there she is not edited out.
Yes, the language what they are speaking is Finnish, which is totaly different language then English. But in some places of the video, you can notice that English and Finnish have a few common international words. Like for example, a bus = bussi, a show = show, a screen = skriini, a band =bändi, a sound = saundi, an atmospheric = atmosfääri, a cinematic = sinemaattinen, a spontaneous = spontaaninen, a culture = kulttuuri, a feeling = fiilis, the concert = konsertti, a break=breikki, an idea = idea, an illusion=illuusio, the visuals=visuaalinen, the drama=draama.
As stated in the very first minutes of the documentary they had to cut out each snip of Annette because of legal issues. So she was part of the band the whole time, you just cannot see or hear her.
She manages to missunderstand explanations, lyrics and commentary. She even thinks the Imaginarium concert is outdoors at Waken. She seems incapable of grasping the most basic facts such as Annette being with them for the whole of this episode.
Anette was with them most of the way to very end, it's just that they took her vocals and video that showed her away from this because Anette wanted so
For the same reason that there are very few recordings of Anette live she didn't want to appear in the video. Because she knew she would look dreadful when compared with Floor. As you can see she also sang less than Floor could as has tuning issues too. So easy to leave her out of the footage where you think she's not there at all. LOL
No, remember at the beginning it said " The singer" wanted to be cut from all scenes from this documentary? She was there until October, 2012. After she got sick in October, & Tuomas told her he was bringing in Floor it was downhill from there, for the obvious. Floor had been doing slightly less Symphonic Metal for as long as NW, with After Forever. They opened for NW in 2005, before Tarja left. Troy was made an actual member when Floor was before Wacken 2013, but they weren't announced until the new album cane out. Wacken was Floor's 1st concert as a member of the band, & the audience still thought she was filling in, & look how they responded to her, NW wasn't touring America, BUT THE America's! That is why we should remember to call ourselves the USA, rather than America, but LOL, that is how we are. I am a Houstian too. I live in DFW now, my son, & grandson are still there. I grew up off the north loop, raised my kids in Springg/Klein. As a member of the Boomer generation I proclaim NW the best band in my lifetime, & there were awesome bands, but then there is Nightwish! ❤❤❤
Wacken was August 2013, so Floor was ~10 months in the band as a replacement Her first concert with Nightwish was on (1st ?) October in Seattle, USA !!! 2012 .. they will show the beginning of the first concert here in this docu ... And it is not true that Floor knows about beeing a member UNTIL the tour ends ... watch this docu and read the translation if you are not a finn :) , Hildesheim - Germany - M´era Luna Festival was the final of the world tour and see/hear/read what Marco is saying at the end and then gives the word to Floor who was hardly battleing the tears .. why ? She is a performer, a singer, not an actor !
Yes that was Finnish. Floor is Dutch and Troy is British. Most European countries they learn more then one language at School. The concert is following the movie realease one i'm sure much people would like you to react to. Imaginerium was already used so Nightwish changed the movie title to Imaginaerum. I will leave a link but hopefully your side of the planet can view it.
ruclips.net/video/cvR11Nd8uOI/видео.htmlsi=Yph00CGN8x1Qpe52 You'll notice Troy without a beard played a part so did the rest of the band. It features their music but is more like a childrens story with one very serios scene i won't mention.
Finnish and English is being spoken 😊 The Pipes Tuomas and Troy has in front of them are basically miniatures from the Sibelius Monument. Jean Sibelius was a Finnish composer and there's a huge monument in Helsinki that's dedicated to him en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sibelius_Monument 😊🎶🇫🇮
Dutch is related to English and is softer than Finnish. With Dutch people you understand one or two words. The working language in the band is English, but when the Finns are among themselves they also speak Finnish. Since the documentary filmmaker is Finnish they speak Finnish all the time. Floor was once asked who would win if she and Empuu fought each other. Floor answered: Empuu. He has a black belt in judo and judokas enjoy opponents who are bigger and stronger than themselves. They can work with the size and strength of their opponents. Troy became a touring musician with Nightwish in 2007. He is responsible for the folk part of Nightwish. Although he only had a few appearances at the beginning, his part kept growing. In 2013 he became an official member with Floor. Right from the start Troy and Tuomas had the idea of starting their own project alongside Nightwish. In 2011, Troy wrote the first song, but was then unable to continue working on it because of Nightwish. During Floor's first maternity leave in 2016, it became Auri and the first album was released in 2017. The third album is now planned and at the end of next year we will see the project live for the first time. The singer is Tuomas' wife Johanna Kurkela: AURI - The Space Between
The band is Finnish, Anette was Swedish, Troy is from the UK, Floor is from the Netherlands. Mostly the band speaks Finnish in this documentary (Troy speaks English). Anette doesn't appear so you won't hear Swedish I don't think. Floor speaks English in interviews except in the Netherlands where she is doing Dutch shows.
20:30 They did have Anette on the tour. However, the start of the document said that Anette didn't want to be seen in this documentary so the whole video has been cut in a way that she cannot be seen in any clip. The only gig without a female lead singer was the "karaoke gig" in Denver.
Like they said in first minute of the documentary, Anette was there Till Denver but did not want to shown in this documentary after get kicked out of NW 👍
fun fact. marko and tarja going tour now together. marko ask his crew and other people same room with tarja and say sorry front of them to tarja how everything going bad when they kick out tarja nightwish band. marko ask him self sorry to tarja. great tarja and marko love and peace.
March 2012 was three months into the tour. The Denver Debacle was September 2012. Floor stepped in October 2012. The tour ended August 2013, just a few weeks after Wacken 2013 with a total of 104 shows. Anette was supposed to bail out November 2012 because of her pregnancy.
@@annev6895 Some kind of brain fart happened. Because if the Denver Debacle was in September.... I corrected my comment. Wow, this was twice in one comment section. Good thing you've got my back.
The band are speaking Finnish. They can all speak English though. Troy of course is English anyway and Floor speaks it fluently. She did learn Finnish, but hasn't yet on this tour. The band's only common language is English, so they communicate with each other in that language. Imaginaerum, both the movie and the album, feature a somewhat creepy circus/fairground. The song "Last Ride Of The Day" has some reference to this. Not hear very often? There's a LOT of orchestral metal out there right now. I have a big collection of it on CD and video. I thiunk Nightwish inspired many of the bands, but it existed before Nightwish. Orchestral rock goes right back to the 70's with bands like Illusion/Renaissance and Barclay James Harvest (who initially had their OWN small orchestra!) That keyboard stand Tuomas has is decorative. As far as I'm aware, it was only used on this tour and the following Wacken concert. Troy joined the band at the same time as Floor, but had played session with the band, including on tour, for a while before that. For most of this video, he hadn't yet become a proper band member, but was already a friend of Tuomas.
They had to cut annette, so of the multi track music music recording any of the instrumental that was on annette's track also got cut making for a really weird mix. Imaginaerurm is also a movie that borrows heavy from the album and features the band.
Annette has been touring with them until September 2012 (she just didn't want her images or voice on this documentary). Some bad tongues say they did get because she was pregnant and some concerts of have to be cancelled, but that's not right. The two reason Annette was fired was because of the chemistry of the band going sour. They never really went into details and abstained from bringing out the dirty laundry, but it is quite clear that the the bags had been at the breaking point. Also Annette was always a little weak live, often even on her own songs. I think it was only a matter of time. Actually I knew floor longer than I knew nightwish, and when they let Tarja go I booted their poco Floor. But maybe it was better this way... The die hard Tarja Fans wouldn't have accepted Floor and the band had two albums to try different sounds and mature in terms of sound and composition... I think in the end, the timing of floor joining was just right.
Tuomas has had various things (including a Jack Sparrow) in front of the keyboard - it's just for decoration. It it has no other function. The keyboards are routed through the audio system and amplified as needed, just like the guitars. I believe the pipes and drums have to be mic set.
Although it isn't my favourite album, Imaginarium has some splendid songs that highlight Anette's voice wonderfully. Slow Love, Slow is (as you said) a very bluesy sound which Anette simply crushes. There are a couple of other songs on that album along that vein too. Perhaps some of the better-versed members of the Nightwish Army can recommend some videos that have Anette singing. Whilst like you, my pick is Floor, there is NO doubting the skills of both Tarja and Anette too. They are completely different styles, but both extremely capable vocalists.
I think you've got really confused with watching it in two parts, the timeline changes back and forth. They had a female singer, Anette, right upto the point you saw when they called Floor to come and fill in with 48 hours notice.
about the confusing time jumps in this docu: you can actually see which era it is onscreen, when you see and hear the main vocalist it is Floor Era ... because its Anette, who sent her lawyers to Nightwish to stop them using her footage in this docu ( this was also said in the beginning of this docu ... ok in finnish and it had the english translation CC ) so they offen just deleted the livemusic and puts over studioversion or other stuff... and Anette is just to see on one tour poster announcement in the whole docu... who cares -.- "Scaretale" official live video is with her ... something to react to after the docu ? =)
You are not thinking properly. They have only played one gig without their singer and you have seen that one in the beginning of the documentary. That was end of September. Then they have rewound back in time to the beginning of the tour. At that time they still had Anette. However as stated at the start of the documentary she did not want to be seen or heared in the video. That is why you don’t see a singer. But she was there for sure.
Nightwish - Lanternlight (Official Music Video) posted 9/20. Over 52,000 views in 4 hours. Goddess Floor at her finest, singing a genius tune from Tuomas, with backing vocals from Troy. What do you mean, "they didn't have a female singer"? Did you forget that at the beginning of the film it was said: Anette forbade them to use any video with her. It seems to me that you are completely lost in the film's timeline. The film began with the events of September-October 2012 when they fired Anette and immediately took Floor on board. Then we go back to the beginning of 2012 when the Imaginaerum tour began with four concerts in the US and Anette was still in the band. This part of the video talks about the European leg of the tour in the spring of 2012 and Anette was also still in the band, but they just can't show her.

Regarding your question, they're all from Finland except for Floor (Netherlands) and Troy (England)
The documentary is in Finnish.
Obviously, they need to communicate in English because four of them are Finnish, one Dutch and one British.
Cheers from CHILE!!!
They had a singer up to October, but they aren't allowed to show her for legal reasons. Keep in mind, she was fired in October, so she was there.
Fun fact: Emppu is short, but he has a black belt in Karate.
Like for example,
a bus = bussi, a show = show, a screen = skriini, a band =bändi, a sound = saundi, an atmospheric = atmosfääri, a cinematic = sinemaattinen, a spontaneous = spontaaninen, a culture = kulttuuri, a feeling = fiilis, the concert = konsertti, a break=breikki, an idea = idea, an illusion=illuusio, the visuals=visuaalinen, the drama=draama.
As stated in the very first minutes of the documentary they had to cut out each snip of Annette because of legal issues. So she was part of the band the whole time, you just cannot see or hear her.
Yeah, sometimes she just doesn´t read or understand subtitles and so many things goes above her head.
She manages to missunderstand explanations, lyrics and commentary. She even thinks the Imaginarium concert is outdoors at Waken. She seems incapable of grasping the most basic facts such as Annette being with them for the whole of this episode.
Anette was with them most of the way to very end, it's just that they took her vocals and video that showed her away from this because Anette wanted so
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘That's Finnish what they speak, Dutch is even more complex to speak I know everything about it😅
For the same reason that there are very few recordings of Anette live she didn't want to appear in the video.
Wacken was August 2013, so Floor was ~10 months in the band as a replacement
Her first concert with Nightwish was on (1st ?) October in Seattle, USA !!! 2012 .. they will show the beginning of the first concert here in this docu ...
@@helli0n824 , I said this was her first concert as a member of the band, it had not been announced. I’ve seen the documentary several times.
Didn't want YOUR SHOW to end ! Be well.
Watch Ismo react to Perfume of the Timeless with the band around. He has them laughing really hard.
Finnish and English is being spoken 😊
The Pipes Tuomas and Troy has in front of them are basically miniatures from the Sibelius Monument. Jean Sibelius was a Finnish composer and there's a huge monument in Helsinki that's dedicated to him
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sibelius_Monument
😊🎶🇫🇮
Thank You, for doing this
They also made a little movie called imaginaerum. It doesn't have the album songs, rather orchestral arrangements of the songs.
I never had a Christmas without snow
The singer is Tuomas' wife Johanna Kurkela:
AURI - The Space Between
The band is Finnish, Anette was Swedish, Troy is from the UK, Floor is from the Netherlands.
They ALWAYS had a female singer.
They had to cut her out of the documentary. First part explained that.
Brilliant👍
fun fact. marko and tarja going tour now together. marko ask his crew and other people same room with tarja and say sorry front of them to tarja how everything going bad when they kick out tarja nightwish band. marko ask him self sorry to tarja. great tarja and marko love and peace.
No, Annette was there, they digitally removed her from any performance she was in.
Some of the shows with the curtail, the curtail failed to drop. You never saw this effect again.
March 2012 was three months into the tour. The Denver Debacle was September 2012. Floor stepped in October 2012. The tour ended August 2013, just a few weeks after Wacken 2013 with a total of 104 shows. Anette was supposed to bail out November 2012 because of her pregnancy.
Floor joined a bit later, her first show was 1st of October
@@annev6895 Some kind of brain fart happened. Because if the Denver Debacle was in September....
I corrected my comment.
Wow, this was twice in one comment section. Good thing you've got my back.
heheh, tuomas´ keyboard stands are just to cover the whinebottle under his keyboards :)
Thanks ❤❤❤
Empuu is a twin.
Orchestral rock goes right back to the 70's with bands like Illusion/Renaissance and Barclay James Harvest (who initially had their OWN small orchestra!)
That keyboard stand Tuomas has is decorative.
When NW formed, it was a folk band. When Tarja joined, they converted to symphonic metal.
You should listen to the whole Imaginaerum album and then watch the movie with the same name, on or off camera
Everything else but the keyboards on Tuomas' stand on the stage is just for the show. Except for the wine bottle holder.
23:33 Troy came in the band a year before Floor, but when she became "an official member" , so did he
I think you've got really confused with watching it in two parts, the timeline changes back and forth. They had a female singer, Anette, right upto the point you saw when they called Floor to come and fill in with 48 hours notice.
All concerts shown here are with female vocalist, she just wasn't on tape since she didn't want to be in this docummentary.
🤘🖤🔥
about the confusing time jumps in this docu: you can actually see which era it is onscreen, when you see and hear the main vocalist it is Floor Era ... because its Anette, who sent her lawyers to Nightwish to stop them using her footage in this docu ( this was also said in the beginning of this docu ... ok in finnish and it had the english translation CC ) so they offen just deleted the livemusic and puts over studioversion or other stuff... and Anette is just to see on one tour poster announcement in the whole docu... who cares -.-
"Scaretale" official live video is with her ... something to react to after the docu ? =)
32:00 That's one of the best Anette songs, "Slow Love Slow". In this video without Anette unfortunately ...
In an interview, Floor said that Tuomas challenged her with some low notes on the new album. This song really demonstrates her rich, low range which we haven’t heard before.
ruclips.net/video/WfKnVCKNECI/видео.html - All guitar nerds should check out this video, posted 9/20. NIGHTWISH SURPRISE: Emppu Vuorinen Gets His New ESP EV-1 Guitar!
From movie imagenatreum
You really should listen to the whole imaginaerum album to understand the complete thing.
Same tour, same organ..
the language is finnish they are finnish why should they speak dutch? Floor is dutch but she speaks english with them because they don't speak dutch.
🤘😁🇫🇮💙🪄🎼✨💯👍
Watch the Nightwish movie, Imagenaerum....answer ewry qstion & much moooooore 🇫🇮💙😁
