I am convinced that Emppu is the glue that holds NW together. On stage he never stops, interacting with the crowd and his fellow bandmates. His solos are perfect, always paying respect to the song, never showing off just for the sake of it. A true entertainer, putting the show first. Long may he continue. That guitar is a thing of beauty and I look forward to seeing them both back on stage when the band feels ready to do so.

He has six ESP signature guitars. A white ESP EV-1, the Harem Girl EV-2‘s and the Imaginaerum EV-3 guitars. Futhermore he owns a couple other ESP‘s for sure but I just think he has fallen in love with his specific EV-1. Its maybe just cause he is so emotional connected to that guitar or its just a bit diffrent then his other guitars like every guitar is a bit diffrent even its the same model. We will see if he is now switching to the new one 😌
Such a great surprise for him! I fell in love with Nightwish and Emppu's playing when i first heard Oceanborn (don't even wanna think how long ago) and some time after started playing guitar myself too, with ESP guitars of course! He has always been the biggest inspiration for me, and he's such a genuine person too.

I knew it was the same model, but I figured he probably got a new one with every album as part of an endorsement deal or something. This is amazing to know that he's been using the same instrument for nearly 20 years. What a testament to the quality and craftsmanship of ESP!

This is so cool! I have to say, as a Swede I'm jealous of finnish ESP-fans having such a cool dealer in their country. So many stories from ESP artists about working with Musamaailma and the music it has brought us.

Man I love that EV-1. It is absolutely beautiful. If I ever have the money for a custom guitar - it will be a request for this trim. There are very few specific guitars that are legendary, Eddies Franken is one of the only others that springs to mind, but this is one of those guitars that you can instantly say who owns and plays it. It's iconic!

I am so glad that Emppu chose to work with ESP to make his signature guitar, the guitar that has delighted many thousands of Nightwish fans over the years. Not only this, but the fact that Emppu went with a (slightly) lesser known guitar brand than the ubiquitous G or F brands. May this union last for many years to come.
Loved this, great story. I totally understand Emmpu's finding and staying with a guitar that feels just right. I have a 1980 Fender Lead II that I bought new. It is still my main guitar for everything. I have customized the electronics and added a Kahler Tremelo. Congrats Emmpu!!

From the original one there was a very small run of signature models back in the day - there was one in my hometown, at the dealer Karjalan musiikki (I think the owner retired 15 years ago already). To this day the very best guitar I ever tried, and one I’ve missed for 20-odd years.
I'd love and LTD too since I can't possibly afford a full fat ESP. On the other hand I worry what kind of quality trem can you really get on an LTD? Anyway, pistäkää Musamaailma tulemaan :D
