BenQ TH671ST Review - Is It The Best Gaming Projector?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 9 фев 2025
- This is a review of the BenQ TH671ST, a short throw gaming projector. With 3000 lumens of brightness and the capability of displaying a 100" screen from only 5ft away, it makes a great projector for gamers or people or who want a large screen in a small room. The video also compares the TH671ST to the Optoma GT1080 and the BenQ HT2150ST.

*It’s an amazing **Bestt.Digital** projector it would be great for camping or even in a bedroom. It’s honestly so cool as you can connect your fire stick. 10/10*
Hi just purchased this projector after returning the Optoma Darbee and got to admit the Benq Th671ST has a far superior more life like contrast and sharper crystal clear image.
Keep up the good work your the only one who really gives a honest very informative non biased review.
Thanks! Glad it worked out for you
@@ChrisMajestic theglaok Is the BenQ TH671ST compatible with active 3D glasses and movies in MKV SBS format? Nowhere do they have that information.
I appreciate your videos always very informative
You deserve far more subscribers. Your videos are always very well done, cover all relevant information, and are free and void of rambling. Simply put, your videos are among the best on RUclips.
You answered everything I wanted to know in one video. Thank you! Keep up the good work!
Just got this projector, hasn't really come down in price over the past couple of years, but now that I have it I'm very happy with it.
I was really tempted by the 2150, with that awesome 6x color wheel, but I needed something more general, especially for bright room gaming with my kids. And the image is EASILY big and crisp enough for 4-player split screen. We all went "WHOA" when we plugged it in for the first time.
And then if I want to watch a movie with the wife, it's light enough to easily move it up to our darker room, change the visual setting to "cinema", and (eventually) hook it up to some better speakers. It's pretty good at just about everything.
Just found your channel and brilliant reviews! I have a BenQ 1070 and cant fault BenQ products! I am so amazed with the quality!
I have the ht2150st and it’s a pretty nice projector.
TwistedTorque stop watching this shit and enjoy what you have haha.. I'm watching while debating a new tv or a projector.
BenQ HT1085ST or HT2150? which you think is best all around?
Thanks great review ,I'm definitely gonna get this projector ..they are amazing for the price had a w1070 for a few years and it's just like having a movie cinema in n your house
Hey brother you are the best you tuber around. Keep it up. My only problem is that each time you post something I end up wanting it. :)
I dig all your great content on the gaming projectors. Wish somebody would compare these 3 you mention here to the optima 5500+ ultra short throw.
Your content is the highest quality I’ve seen on RUclips and you deserve more subs but I think the only reason you don’t is because most people don’t like projectors for some silly reason and it doesn’t interest as many people as phones and TVs do
thanks for the great review
Thank you. Having by ditch a budget standard throw. Do most short throws project upwards. Thinking coffee table placement
Love the review about the BenQ projector. Quality over quantity always!
Another first class professional review.
Great review
Does it have to be used for gaming? Can it be used for movies also
This or the BENQ HT1070A? My room is large enough that I won't need to worry about throw distance. I'll use it 60% for movies, 40% for games. Great channel, BTW!
Are those the only two gaming models of projectors that are worthwhile? I am looking for another projector the old Optomo was stolen out of the trailer in storage so now having to buy another one and wanting to update? Keep up the great work!
Very cool projector, wanna buy him in a future)
Thanks for the really useful review! The specs say the max screen size for which it can focus in 120 inches? Did you notice any drop in quality at larger sizes?
Another great video bro.
any recommendations for a good short throw (not ultra short throw) projector for 2022?
Edit: Amazing review btw, thanks again.
Wow, way smaller than the other one. Wonder if rainbows are still a problem for this type of segment color wheel. I saw them a bit back in the day for dlp tvs.
I have a 190 inch golf screen in basement. Will the 2150st be ok at the larger screen size or do I go for the brighter 671st. I probably will have a few lights on dimmed down. Would rather the more accurate color but worried about the brightness at 190 inches.
Hi Chris! Yet another honest in depth comparison between BenQ TH671ST , BenQHT215ST & Optima GT1080! The winner is BenQ TH671ST as you said.
The HT2150ST is superior than the TH671ST.
+Chris Lopez correct
I am in the similar confusion, 2150st vs 1080darbee vs 671st.
I understand both benq are better than optoma. But which one these two benq. From your reviews undertood that 2150st has better color and 671st is brighter. My usage is for movies, mostly in dark room. Is 2150st better for me?
saravanakumar balakrishnan the 2150st Is better. :)
Chris Lopez too much confused. Wil ht2150 work well with ambient lighting?
Great review, it has me considering this one which was not on my radar. My goal is mainly for outdoor use. Do you think this would work well on a 144" screen outdoors? The original projector I was gonna get was the Viewsonic PX700HD but your review has me doubting that decision.
I remember I watched a few weeks ago your video on the UHD Optoma... very nice review, excellent voice and commentary.
Please tell me why did you test this over the HT2150ST/W1210ST? I want to decide what to buy...
Or do you recommend another model for short throw?
As for the Optoma UHD that is nearly 2.5 times the price so it is out of range.
What did you end up choosing? im gravitating towards the W1210ST.
Chris Lopez hey Chris sorry for the delay. I think the short throw model has less specs with the RGB wheel... cant explain it but something like the 671 model has RGBYCM correction wheel while the other model has two of these ... 6x RGBRGB as.explained in the video. But the advantage of 671 is the short throw... so if your ceiling lighting is in the middle of the room, you can place it between the light and the wall... while the other non short throw models you may have to place it behind the light so the quality levels projected may be less... even if these have higher lumens, a closer projector will lose less lumens during projection... 671 is also cheaper.
Chris Lopez but u wont notice the RGB difference... Also st has better price. And is newer. Nothing better for a similar price at the moment.
Makes sense, The short throw would will be place a couple feet from the light so its ideal. will order the W1210ST this week. Thanks for tips!!
Chris Lopez Sorry what do u mean? If room length is 4 meters, and ceiling room light is at the centre, say 2 meters, then the 671st is great coz can be 1 m from the wall... so thats between the wall and the ceiling light, so that the ceiling light does not interfere and projection does not have to go through the ceiling light. While for other models, they have to be at 2 meters minimum from the wall, so either right where the ceiling light is, or probably the ceiling light will interfere with them coz it will be in between the wall and projector... unless u turn the lights off... But i still believe the st is a great model of great price 1080p.
Thank you for a great review! I am finally going to switch to a gaming projector, however, wanted to know your thoughts on the Optoma gt1080 Darbee. I have been looking at the Darbee for quite some time and after seeing this review i am torn...lol. Just want to make sure I get a good 1st-time projector. Thanks
+Frank Anderson both are good but This has better color. I prefer this over the Optoma.
Which high contrast screen would you prefer for shortthrow beamers? Like this one or the 2150 st?
Super intersting, personaly I have the Epson hc2040 and I am very happy with it but now its tine to talk about best 4k projector for gaming
+Sim Octane there are very few cheap 4k projectors and none of them are short throw. Beware of the ones that say 4k when they are really 1080p but accept 4k signals.
@@ChrisMajestic what do you recommend for this year? I want a projector
Thank you for the video but I have a dilemma. Currently own the HT2150ST. It's my man cave gaming and tv projector. It's time for me to order my 3rd lamp. Lamps cost 244 dollars rated for 5000 hours. This is what I'm thinking. The TH871ST is brighter and lamp cost 119 dollars rated at 15000 hours. What's your opinion on upgrading?
If you haven’t already. Could you demonstrate how the zooming wheel works on the projector? I have had a projector for the past 8 years and want to upgrade eventually. Depending on weather I could mount it into the same spot or if my wall can manage the image. I’d like to see if the projector can be swapped out with the upgrade easily
How does this Benq TH671st compare to the older W1080st+/w1085st
What screen should i get with a short throw projector i heard ALR doesn’t work with short throws
Is the BenQ TH671ST compatible with active 3D glasses and movies in MKV SBS format? Nowhere do they have that information.
Great video indeed. I'm looking for a good gaming projector but not a short throw model. Do you have a model in mind? My current projector is at 10.5". Thx
HT2050A
does it have a visible rainbow effect?
Very nice
Can you use headphones with it if you want to play at night ?and who won the projector from last week’s episode ?
Does it do rear projection?
thanks for info, can it play movies off of the usb stick?
Would you mount this projector on the ceiling if you wanted to permanently install it?
+Tim datoolman yes
How’s it seven orseven at 7pPumping you don’t know it’s retro gaming but I have heard and I am looking for an update of consuls
What's the best screen material to use for the best picture possible? White, grey or silver? I even seen an expensive woven material available
+Vidale Martin it depends on the projector and personal preference. Black Diamond is one of the best screens money can buy but it's extremely expensive. Woven is usually acoustic screen so you can place speakers behind the screen and allow sound to come through.
WHOA!!!! I just looked at the Black Diamond screen prices. Utter Shock! 4grand, that's crazy. Thanks for the reply, keep up the great work
The 2050a is also good right?
Does the Darbee function of the GT1080Darbee make games look better in comparison to both BenQ's Projectors because the textures pop out way more?
carlosvenu game mode for the GT1080Darbee can either be used with Darbee on or off. When Darbee is off during game mode the input lag is 16.67ms but when on during game mode the input lag is raised to 33ms, slightly increasing quality but also makes using the 1080Darbee redundant (there are multiple 33ms input lag monitors with considerable better quality). Considering only 16ms mode for projectors under $1000, picture quality would go from greatest to least the new HT2050a and HT2150st tied (these 2 will have deeper colors because of their better color wheel), TH671st, and then the GT1080 and GT1080Darbee tied at slightly worse than the TH671st (without Darbee those 2 projectors are the same I believe). Keep in mind that the better color wheel limits the lumen output of the 2050 and 2150st so if used in an area with ambient light the TH671st with 3000 lumens would be the best projector
George Nikolovski Thank you very much!
@@GeorgeNikolovski I have not been able to decide whether to buy the BenQ TH671ST or the Optoma GT1080Darbee. Which one has better image quality?
if you had to choose this or the ht2150st which would it be?im torn
HT2150ST is also good for gaming but its color accuracy is better than TH671ST so the price is a little bit higher for that. If you are a movie lover and also like to play games (plus you have a dark room for movie watching), HT2150ST for sure is the better choice. However, if you do need a brighter projector because of less control on the ambient light, then TH671ST is your best choice!
THANKS already went with the 2150st ..think im pretty pleased with the purchase..i have my darbee vision coming in tomorrow so im happy for that addition to it!
Good video, strong production values. Just ordered this projector from BenQ on ebay; looking forward to getting it hooked up. What LED setup are you using behind your screen?
in the optoma i dont see the yellow blue and red colors
Hi everyone, is there a similar in price and performance projector short throw with 120hz? Thanks!
Is this still relevant in 2021? Or should I consider another projector?
Does it have rainbow effect?
GT1080Darbee or HT671ST? Please help!
Finally which one did you buy?
$750 in 2017 in USA?!!!!! Its still $2000 in Australia in December 2021. WTF?!!!!!!!
Does it have Bluetooth
i am between this one, ht2150st or ht3050. I wanna do a overall usage of the monitor, like gaming, movies and some random tv chanel. What is the best choice? i know the th671st is cheaper than the two other models but if it is worth expend the extra money i would do it. I have a space to set up the projector at a maximum of 10 feet away from the screen.
Not a single mention of the 3D capabalities :(
How about vs 142x?
Is that your mom that you're riding around with in the TESLA? Will you watch my cartoon show on my channel? It's called I Hate Living in Apartments lol
Noob Question for Mr. Majesechs - how much of a difference is 97% Rec709 vs 92% Rec709?
It depends on the color wheel. I personally strongly prefer 96%+though
Dear santa...
I was going to go for the BenQ but it has shitty Black levels unless you go high end, so I went with Optoma GT1080Darbee instead, the 2150ST has 15000 Contrast Ratio and the GT1080 has 28000, something to keep in mind, personally i think Black levels are more important than a little more color, really not a big difference between the two in terms of color.
+Tor Guy the gt1080darbee is nice but I couldn't live with the lackluster color. And the TH671ST is brighter than the GT1080. The black levels are better on the gt1080 but a gray screen helps with that.
Fair enough, I forgot to mention I got it on sale for $799 CAD, so I think thats a pretty good deal. Cheers.
I went with the new hd39darbee. Its a great gaming projector! It has the same gaming performance as the 1080 but with slightly better specs..
Sometimes people don’t want really expensive stuff,Know what mean?????????

Not as Described
This Projector Or The UHD60?
+Rico Aviles definitely the UHD60. Not a fair comparison
Thanks. Do you Have The Link to your Led Kit?

Great review
