I certainly didn't know in my first run. I didn't kill Undyne my first time, but I also didn't become friends with her on account of having killed at least one monster before. But yeah you'd basically have to be on the true pacifist route and go back and be friends with Undyne as soon as possible to begin to get enough clues before the quiz show.
Yeah, it's easier to asume it's the human because she looks even obsessed with you. And since you don't know her you can't tell if she's naturally nervous or if it's because of you.

It would’ve been cool if you got to the corner, there would be a secret option that’s mettaton. If you select it, the music abruptly stops. Mettaton says, “THAT’S JUST PLAIN STUPID. EVEN I DONT HAVE A WITTY COMEBACK FOR THAT ONE.”, with Alphys having a confused look on her face. It then returns to normal.

Fun fact - Mettaton mentions Alphys naming programming variables after her crush. Digging into the game's code reveals a hidden message that's written in character, taunting the player about how they won't find their crush's name in there.

I've heard an interpetation of this AU that gives it a bit more depth and tragedy, and an explanation for why monsters are uber-horny, but mostly it's just so that the people who ship sans and an adult (and obligatorily female) frisk can have more material to quite literally fuck with.

Mirashade Now that I whatch it again, I don't think she's talking about Gaster only, but about everyone else who's been affected by Gaster's experiment. Who? I think it could be everyone on the picture Sans has in his workshop. And maybe Sans himself, but he seems to be doing fine. If you want more explanation on why I think they were linked with Gaster, just ask me, and I'll write a long reply about it. :3
TheAmeriFin Alright, so here's what I think about Gaster and his experiment(s). First off, who was Gaster? While no one knows for sure, I'll go with the theory that he's the hidden NPC that appears in waterfall if you have a Fun value of 66. As you know if you read about him, he was the royal scientist before Alphys (and was far more competent). He was scattered through time (the game) and space (the game's files) after he "fell" into the core. He wrote the entry #17 and in it he asks "WHAT DO YOU TWO THINK?". I'm sure that one of the two persons he was talking to was Sans. Why? Because first off, sans says in the genocide route "our reports showed a massive anomaly in the timespace continuum. timelines jumping left and right, stopping and starting... until suddenly, everything ends." and he also seems to be able to teleport (space) and know about the other timelines (time). Note that he says our reports, which implies that someone else works, or worked with him. And that person would be Gaster. Now, the second person person, this is where we start theorising. The only candidates I see would be either Alphys, Papyrus or Asgore, but that's unlikely. Most people tend to go with Papyrus, but to be honest, none of them seem to really fit. However, he does mention sans pranking accross time and space, and says he hates it when he does that, so he knows about sans's powers. Speaking of his powers, where do these come from? I think that, further proving that sans was with Gaster, he got his powers through Determination. So, if it was the case, then why isn't he melting like the amalgamates? It's either because he was exposed to only a tiny bit of it, or that he's a human. These two options are the only ones I can think off. He does sleep, something that Papyrus doesn't seem to do, and he even bleeds (I doubt it's ketchup, it wouldn't make much sense, andToby pays close attention to détails). So when would he have gotten his powers? It's either during one of Gaster's experiments, or when he had an accident, but sans doesn't seem to be "trapped like Gaster and his followers (probably friends). I also want to point out the fact that sans's skulls that shoot lasers are called "Gaster Blaster". To add even more links between him and Gaster, I think that sans was a friend of his, if not a family member because he has a picture of himself smilling with "people you don't recognise", which we can assume were his friends before the accident since he replaces that picture with the one of you and your friends at the end of the pacifist route. When saving sans while confronting Asriel, he says things like "just give up. I did" or "why even try?" and "you'll never see 'em". He probably is talking about him trying to save his friends and Gaster after the accident by fixing the machine that's in his workshop, but Toby tweeted something like "no one was ever able to fix it". Oh, and to come back on one of my previous points, I mentionned that sans probably has determination. I say that because he, just like other characters that had determination, has something special with one of his eyes. Undyne the undying had lost an eye when she got determined, mettaton ex (and neo) lost his eye too, (I can't remember what was that person's theory as to why, but it made sense) And what happens when you fight sans? His left eye changes, it even turns to yellow each time he téléports you when he's exhausted. So, I think I pretty much said everything, I probably missed a few things though, this took a lot longer to write than it should have. UNDERTALE SPOILERS UNDER CUT Knowing that Asgore is technically a correct answer, despite canon going by Alphys crushing on Undyne and wanting Asgore to get back together with Toriel; it leads me to believe Alphys is embarrassed not because she crushes on Asgore, but because Mettaton was reading lines from the Asgore shippy fanfics she writes.
She's simply bi, she was crushing on both. Once she settled on Undyne who reciprocated her feelings, she had no reason to feel bad about Asgore and Toriel getting back together and the shipping brain took over.

Yeah, because the True Pacifist ending is the first time any of the characters meet Toriel. Well, with the exception of Asgore and Sans (whom she informally met before)... -It's likely that Undyne, being a personal protege of Asgore, recognized Toriel from his stories. -Papyrus merely thought she was a shaven clone of Asgore. LOL -Alphys seemed surprised to meet Toriel and noted to herself that there were "two of them," implying that she had never seen another Boss Monster before. Either way, it's made clear that Alphys definitely finds her attractive, even though it's not in a romantic fashion.

I think it could be everyone on the picture Sans has in his workshop. And maybe Sans himself, but he seems to be doing fine. TheAmeriFin Alright, so here's what I think about Gaster and his experiment(s). First off, who was Gaster? While no one knows for sure, I'll go with the theory that he's the hidden NPC that appears in waterfall if you have a Fun value of 66. As you know if you read about him, he was the royal scientist before Alphys (and was far more competent). He was scattered through time (the game) and space (the game's files) after he "fell" into the core. He wrote the entry #17 and in it he asks "WHAT DO YOU TWO THINK?". I'm sure that one of the two persons he was talking to was Sans. Why? Because first off, sans says in the genocide route "our reports showed a massive anomaly in the timespace continuum. timelines jumping left and right, stopping and starting... until suddenly, everything ends."
and he also seems to be able to teleport (space) and know about the other timelines (time). Note that he says our reports, which implies that someone else works, or worked with him. And that person would be Gaster. Now, the second person person, this is where we start theorising. The only candidates I see would be either Alphys, Papyrus or Asgore, but that's unlikely. Most people tend to go with Papyrus, but to be honest, none of them seem to really fit. However, he does mention sans pranking accross time and space, and says he hates it when he does that, so he knows about sans's powers. Speaking of his powers, where do these come from? I think that, further proving that sans was with Gaster, he got his powers through Determination. So, if it was the case, then why isn't he melting like the amalgamates? It's either because he was exposed to only a tiny bit of it, or that he's a human. These two options are the only ones I can think off. He does sleep, something that Papyrus doesn't seem to do, and he even bleeds (I doubt it's ketchup, it wouldn't make much sense, andToby pays close attention to détails). So when would he have gotten his powers? It's either during one of Gaster's experiments, or when he had an accident, but sans doesn't seem to be "trapped like Gaster and his followers (probably friends). I also want to point out the fact that sans's skulls that shoot lasers are called "Gaster Blaster".
To add even more links between him and Gaster, I think that sans was a friend of his, if not a family member because he has a picture of himself smilling with "people you don't recognise", which we can assume were his friends before the accident since he replaces that picture with the one of you and your friends at the end of the pacifist route. When saving sans while confronting Asriel, he says things like "just give up. I did" or "why even try?" and "you'll never see 'em". He probably is talking about him trying to save his friends and Gaster after the accident by fixing the machine that's in his workshop, but Toby tweeted something like "no one was ever able to fix it". Oh, and to come back on one of my previous points, I mentionned that sans probably has determination. I say that because he, just like other characters that had determination, has something special with one of his eyes. Undyne the undying had lost an eye when she got determined, mettaton ex (and neo) lost his eye too, (I can't remember what was that person's theory as to why, but it made sense) And what happens when you fight sans? His left eye changes, it even turns to yellow each time he téléports you when he's exhausted. So, I think I pretty much said everything, I probably missed a few things though, this took a lot longer to write than it should have. Knowing that Asgore is technically a correct answer, despite canon going by Alphys crushing on Undyne and wanting Asgore to get back together with Toriel; it leads me to believe Alphys is embarrassed not because she crushes on Asgore, but because Mettaton was reading lines from the Asgore shippy fanfics she writes.
She's simply bi, she was crushing on both. Once she settled on Undyne who reciprocated her feelings, she had no reason to feel bad about Asgore and Toriel getting back together and the shipping brain took over.

Yeah, because the True Pacifist ending is the first time any of the characters meet Toriel. Well, with the exception of Asgore and Sans (whom she informally met before)...

-Alphys seemed surprised to meet Toriel and noted to herself that there were "two of them," implying that she had never seen another Boss Monster before.
