I thought about buying the Cricut and procrastinated for so long finally I did take the plunge and bought the Cricut air 2, so happy I did. I have increased my client base two fold now that I can make the decals much faster
oh wow, this turned out beautiful! 😍 it's amazing how precisely you cut out those stencils, very impressive. can't give you any advice on buying or not buying a vinyl cutter. but since you asked like three times in the video, i'm guessing you've almost made your decision. 😄✌
With a circuit the only step it will really make easier is the part you did with the exacto knife. Everything else in your process stays the same. I will also say, you dont get as much forgiveness to make sure your project is straight when laying it down as your process is. You can just re-tape but with vinyl you risk tearing it if you misplaced it and you want to adjust.
Really good points that for commenting Chris!! I did end up buying one and I think it’s great for small projects where the stencil is easy to manager. But you a right on, a big stencil like this would be a bear to get perfect.
Who needs a machine when you get those results anyways! Looks great. But I would get one if you’re trying to put up more signage in your Etsy shop. Might make a good Christmas gift to yourself
Great project! I appreciate the stencil tips and tricks. I thought about getting a cricut for these types of builds and you've convinced me that it's worth it
Hi Rory, I think you still have to weed (peel away the pieces) by hand; maybe less effort but still is an annoying thing to suffer thru ! Have you thought of a laser engraver ? Versatile and fun IMHO. Both Cricut and an engraver will have a tendency to expand your workshop project repertoire(?). Take care🙏 -Mike p.s. sealing with a thin shellac should lessen bleeding into the wood I'd think.
@@RLLWoodworks I just do wood engraving. So far and I use it in the garage. Don't need a fancy vent yet or open the doors either. I have only made branding on the bottom of my bowls - see my latest vid. It is an Ortur LM2 @ 20watt. To be clear - there *will be* smoke so I don't recommend using in a living space especially with smoke detectors around !!!
@@RLLWoodworks Don't hesitate to ask when and if you get serious about engraving - I've been keeping tuned in to the scene - picking one can be hard. (email works better)
There are tons of you tubers who are great resources. Angie Holden is awesome. She's very clear and thorough when she tries new things. Unicorn Dust Designs would be the place to go for help with signs. Cricut is finally offering instruction, but I haven't looked at any of their classes.

Music to my ears!! I bought one on Black Friday. Can’t wait to get it.
Dude, your crazy man! I'm not brave enough to cut something out like that by hand. Definitely get a cricut. Or outsource. Ha.
We’ve got one vote for cricut here folks!! I did slice my finger tip off with this method I forgot to mention that.
I bought one!! Can't wait to put it to use.

Haha thanks Lukas! I’m thinking I should probably get one. We have some big sales here in the US on Friday so I’ll be looking out for one.
Go for it! You know you'll find lots of applications that you aren't even thinking about today.
Thanks Roger maybe I will!!
Yes please buy yourself a vinyl cutter! Watching you cut and peel was the most stressful thing I've seen all day! You deserve a new tool!
Haha sorry to bring more stress on you Sean!! The air 2 is on sale right now at Michaels!!
You'll be happy to know I bought one on black Friday. Look out world!

Thanks Seth!! I like the Christmas gift to myself idea.

Thanks so much Mike!! Yeah I need to look into a laser. Can you use it inside or would I need space for it in the garage?

Thanks Mike, I will keep that in mind!! Appreciate it man.
The tedious part of "weeding" the stencil won't go away if you have a cricut. So there is that.
Ah, you’re right I never thought of that. I like that term too. Knew exactly what you meant. TGA always dropping wisdom.
@@RLLWoodworks i learnt the term from Vincent, so feel free to pass along the credit😊
I should have known. Sounds exactly like something he would say.
Get the cricut! My wife has one and I borrow it from time to time for my projects
Thanks! I think I’m going to bc my wife and daughter would probably use it too.
I bought one! Can't wait to use it.
A Cricut would open up so many possibilities. And, your projects will come together faster.
Thanks for watching! Is the software easy to figure out?
