Absolutely buddy. I saw him twice and both times there were black guys and Asians with us in the audience. They were laughing more than the rest of us. So nice that we could sit side by side laughing. There was no racism just humourous banter. The only people Bernard really disliked were the Japs because of war atrocities. The only people exempt from his humour were disabled people. He did a hell of a lot for charities.

Saw him 1994 ,men and woman in pain laughing, no drugs about and everyone having the best night out. Happier times and certainly funnier times.
I was lucky to see this man live on Hastings Pier,after he was banned from the local theatre...pure brilliance.

Saw him several times live and went to his club in Manchester. Fantastic nights with a great atmosphere never to be forgotten. His irreverence leaving no subject taboo would never be tolerated these days, and yes even back then he could make me cringe. I thank my lucky stars though that I came from an era when you had choices, and wasn’t dictated to what you could or couldn’t say see or hear.
