What happens when you disable pre-rendered videos in Xenoblade 3

- More accurately, it's what happens when you disable the UI while a pre-rendered cutscene is playing in the foreground. It doesn't disable ones projected on a screen.
In the vast majority of pre-rendered cutscenes, only the map is actually rendered in the background, but this video shows a few exceptions.

The messed up video feed of when Melia and Nia are talking to each other are because of the emulator not because of the mod itself.
Just discovered all these videos, thanks for putting Xenomods through its paces! But I can tell you're on a version from 5 months ago now though, so I implore you to update!! There are some nice new freecam features for you, as well as a new menu.
Thanks for all your hard work getting Xenomods working. I did switch to the newest version just after making this video. Didn't see much difference in XC3's tools besides the menu, but it certainly makes a world of difference for the XC2 stuff I'm going to do in the future. The previous version I had for that would make cutscenes take forever to load or make the game freeze entirely. Glad that's all fixed now.
@@MrBarnabasB When you enable the freecam, a little dropdown option will show up in the Modules -> Camera Tools tab. There are a handful of new movement modes in there.
I also just pushed a change to disable depth of field and fog in 3. Hopefully that helps out with this, that's been getting in the way for me.
@@Block57 Thanks. As for the depth of field, I already had another mod installed for disabling that.
If there's one request I could ask, is it possible for you to adjust the controls so that the D-pad controls the Z-axis? You know like how the pause camera/Trophy viewing works in the Smash Bros series?
@@MrBarnabasB The menu already uses the dpad, so unfortunately there's no space for that. You can switch the camera movement mode to XY though. (Y is the up axis in the engine)
that closeup of noah's term marker completely threw me off guard i was not expecting that
So Queen Nia is actually talking even when the cutscene is running?Crazy...
and lipsynced as well
@@user-jn7rz9ew2l The lipsyncing was most likely done by AI. I was more surprised at the fact that there's actual camera work. While I did cheat a bit by using freecam so that you wouldn't be staring at the sky for half of the cutscene, 3:23, 4:09, & 4:21 were moments where I had the default camera turned back on.
The audio files most likely have phoneme data or used a simple algorithm to determine the character's approximate mouth shape. The amount of audio files that are animated in this game is actually amazing.
Klaus rubbed off on her really well. After seeing this I feel like Nia's character would have benefited if it alternated more between this and the illustrated images of Origin.
That happen me one time in colony 4
