  • Normally flashbacks have a grayscale filter while visions have grayscale and a distortion filter. This is what they look like without those filters.
Disclaimer: I skipped flashbacks that already exist as normal cutscenes (ie, Shulk & Fiora at Outlook Park and any still shots from the main game that were used as flashbacks in Future Connected).

In the scene with Dickson’s flash back you can see Lorithia behind the manado and Alvis behind Arglass’ leg.
Edit : time stamp is at 24:44

Seeing the Egil’s story in color was so cool

This is like you are seeing a manga for the first time in color.

Just realized I forgot to get the vision where Sharla gets hit by Metal Face's poison claws. Whoops.

24:42 I never would have noticed Alvis there with the filter. Lorithia was noticeable afterwards with knowledge on the trinity, but after all these years I'm noticing Alvis

Honestly these cutscenes look super nice and even better than the originals somehow. Whatever you did it’s beautiful!

It's probably because I'm using Yuzu to run the game at 1440p as opposed to 720p on original hardware.

Thought to myself that it's crazy that Dunban being brought back on a stretcher is at nighttime, I never would've known otherwise!
Realized during Shulk's first vision that this is probably on purpose. Hiding the time of day under a color wash means that even if say, Fiora's death is vision'd during the day, it feels matching even if it happens at night.

9:55 I never realised they visioned that this early in the game.

Woooooahhh! Shulk has Zanza's monado there instead of the replica one

It's really weird. My best guess is that it is an alternate timeline if the group didn't help Melia take down the telethia in the forest.

Oh you've already made this video. I commented on a previous video. I wanted to use the future connect scene in a video of mines but I didn't want it grayscaled. Thank you for doing this.

im surprised 0:42 is not pre rendered, I guess now its clearer I want to say the backgrounds there are all fake and just images so all the different areas can be loaded at once?

    • @Zachruff
      @Zachruff 7 месяцев назад +1

ah 10:38 its way more obvious its just images, interesting

It was to save space and cut on loading times, especially for the original Wii version. The only pre-rendered cutscenes in the Wii original were the zoom out of the Bionis during the Battle of Sword Valley, Prison Island descending into Eryth Sea and the people of Alcamoth turning into Telethia, various shots of all the locations in the game during Alvis's exposition dump at the end of the game, the world being reset, and Fiora walking through Colony 9 in a first person perspective during the epilogue.
In the Switch version, that last scene I listed is now in-engine while the Bionis vs Mechonis fight at the beginning is pre-rendered. Everything else was kept the same as far as I'm aware.

@@MrBarnabasB yeah I figured as much, ty for the detailed list

Honestly, the Zoom out across the Bionis at the start of the game being prerendered is actually kinda impressive because they pretty much masked it perfectly. It's only noticable when the game is upscaled because it suddenly switches from crisp Duncan running into action to pixels everywhere.

27:02 what’s happened to Kino and Nene’s faces

Emulator issue. The edges of all Nopon face textures are visible when ran at a higher resolution.
