I used to love this when I was a kid. I used to play it on the Konami Arcade Classics NDS system. The arcade version predates my lifetime as I was 21 at the time of writing this. The game obviously quite clearly loops after the WC team is beaten rather than showing a “you beat the game!” Video like newer ones. Also loved the Katy Perry basketball game on Witness: The Tour. It reminds me of traditional basketball penalty shootouts (that’s if they exist!)

I rolled over the high score (99999990) and played the world champion so many times that can't remember the score I had to beat... I think it was about 148 points? Anyway... trying to get a PCB of it in craiglist...
It’s like literally when you have only a single second on any team you don’t have time to run up to shoot, so it’s lob it as far as you can to see if you can score the winner! LOL.
Yea, i noticed the lack of fouls and seconds lost in not getting fouled. You can also get fouled by the hs team. You have to wait longer for the free throw in hs, than in Japan. I think the inside line on the square around the basket is when you shoot against Japan for foul time. 3 seconds if it is NOT 45 degrees, 5 seconds if it is 45.

Hah! I KNEW they put out a basketball game before Double Dribble. I was starting to doubt my memory because it’s missing from quite a few lists.

I think this game was racist, because you could always get the Japanese players to foul you. That method didn't work with the other teams.
