@wrathchildNH- Fortunately I was THAT guy and believe it or not the security simply directed me back into the crowd without laying a finger on me- it was an awesome gig and I couldn`t believe no one had tried to get on-stage as that seemed to be the thing to do back then!! Up The Irons!! \m/ lol
Seriously that's cool man just a random fan jumping up on stage and joining in Bruce is so cool most other bands would probably stop the concert and call security
Im pretty sure hes just saying 'Scream for me Everywhere'... This show wasn't done for any tour or anything so the the counrty/city this was performed in isn't important, Its just in some studio somewhere in London. This show was filmed specifically for TV and to say goodbye to Bruce.
Its really wierd, but as the years go by, Iron Maiden gets more popular. I love maiden, Bruce's voice is still top notch, Harris is still writing powerful lyrics and awesome bass lines, Mcbrain is still a monster on drums, and Janick, Dave, and Adrian are still the kings of guitar. Up the irons!
I remember watching this when it was originally broadcasted. I'd only gotten into Maiden the year before (1992) thanks to listening to the Friday Rock show with Tommy Vance on radio 1. It was amazing. I've been an Iron Maiden fan ever since.
As much as I couldnt get into Blaze, listen to poor Bruceys voice, him leaving was for the best. While you can still feel his love and enthusiasm you can clearly hear and feel his vocal pain. His time out to relax, rest, try something else and retune his voice before finally regrouping was the best decision made for maiden.. There new stuff is awesome calibre and their shows still simply amazing to watch. Up the Irons forever!!
I don't know exactly what you mean but Iron Maiden have never stopped touring. They're on tour at the moment, doing songs mostly from the Powerslave to Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son era. I saw them myself in February, and they're as great as ever.
Amazing vid! Good show, amazing illusionist/magician!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they use a iron maiden to kill Bruce. Funny and grotesque end with Eddie there. Iron Maiden FTW!
I believe it mostly came down to Bruce wanting to concentrate on a solo career, thus distracting him from Iron Maiden and Steve becoming frustrated by this. For example, there were rumors that after this show, Bruce simply left without saying goodbye or speaking to anyone. Water under the bridge now though I'm sure, remember these guys have known each other for longer than most of us have been alive.
No. Bruce felt like he was just a part of the machinery, instead of being a musician. That's why he left. He had those feelings since The World Slavery Tour in 1985. But it got better by the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album. But by the Fear of the Dark album those feelings came back.
So Change the description. Bruce Dickenson is awesome. They were thier best with him singing the lead. I know many that can sing like him but their is no replacement for his raw talent.
Bruce is THE man. And besides a rockstar, a jet pilot, a producer and a millionaire he still finds time to surf the internet and post on imdb about the movies he likes.
Bruce definately had other ideas for music that wasn't maiden as well.......He...as well as Steve are superb songwriters.......Bruce's solo music is hugely underrated
To the person who uploaded this: I'm sorry you have to deal with all of these comments from people actually thinking he died, and people thinking they're smart because they are dismissing that it was staged. Sorry half of the comments on this vid half to do with that.
I'm pretty sure it was to pursue his solo career. Nothing more sinister than that. I remember Bruce being quoted as saying it was the hardest decision of his career.
This was filmed on August 28th 1993. The 10 years referred to how long Bruce had been in the band (he joined in late 1981). Iron Maiden was actually first formed around 1975.
If you watch the whole video, its a mixture between the maiden gig and magic tricks/illusions done by Simon Drake. Maiden play a few songs, then Drake does a trick, and so on. Drake also chops off Dave Murray's hands during a song. So i guess to make Bruce go out with a bang, they decided to take advantage of Drake's tricks and 'kill' him, ironically, in an iron maiden torture device.
Sorely underrated Maiden song. Even when Metal was out of style, these fellas carried the torch like no others. Up The Irons! See ya in San Antone Nov 17! 🤘🤘🤘
Not only he is alive but he is one of the few that sings the same as 25+ years ago. And the band is not a sell out or change their original music. They preserve their fans for as long as they play,,,,, Life...
i saw iron maiden a few months ago. they honestly have been a prime band since the mid 80s... meaning it would be only a little more awesome to see them in the 80s. il never forget the epicness i witnessed that night.
@ThroughRock Well my parents introduced Iron Maiden when I was like.. 2 years old! And Maiden is not only about death and horror, listen to the lyrics please. But yeah, I didn't wear Cannibal Corpse shirt way back then or now, in fact that band is rubbish. But I do wear Iron Maiden shirts, that's what the real music is.
yo man. thats true one of the crowd members looks like steve harris. i was going to say the same thing and i saw your comment you though the same things as me!!
I read this on a magazine that was talking about the whole band and all the years. From the early days to the AMOLAD.Then i searched on the net and found it and on a statement.
Bruce is so cool. He let that guy that jumped on stage around the 1:00 mark sing for a second instead of being a complete jackoff and stopping the song to let security take him away. Thats why Bruce is one of the greatest frontman ever!!!!!! UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!
If anyone actually thinks that Bruce Dickinson is dead, what are they doing looking up Iron Maiden on youtube if they're that clueless? I called it what I did because its a title that attracts peoples' attention and its also an accurate description.
this concert is very rare ... cause this was one of the last concert of bruce and the feeling of Dave Murray is Awesome !!! more than others concert xD (I Have a Bad English)
Bruce Dickinson (the singer) left the band after this concert, this kind of a going away thing i think. He came back in 2000 and is kicking more ass then ever :)
@WrathchildNH What you say about their songwriting differences is true, however it is never mentioned that that is the actual reason for Brice's departure. Not to say it wasn't an element though. As far as i can tell, Bruce's main reason for leaving was his desire to concentrate on his solo work and move on to other things. I remember watching an interview where he said that making the decision to leave Iron Maiden was extremely difficult for him.
Blaze was good in his own way. They didn't kick him out, he left on mutual agreement. Its not that they had trouble finding people, they auditioned hundreds of extremely skilled vocalists. They chose Bayley because of how different he was to their previous vocalists. I'm glad they made the Bayley records, they're good in their own right.
He wasnt in Maiden at the time, he left after Seventh Son of a Seventh Son in 1988, and Janick Gers replaced him before releasing No Prayer for the Dying in 1990, then Adrian Smith returned in 2000 for Brave New World
I love how some random dude gets on the stage and Bruce lets him sing along.. thats awesome.
Are you fucking with is? I know your post is 10 years old, but are you serious? You were the guy that jumped the stage and sang with Bruce?
Incrível
You're a douchebag. Stay off the stage. You don't belong there.
My dad had this video on VHS. kinda scary as a kid. but now funny
Rial shit
Bruce is so awesome. A fan runs up on stage and he lets him sing instead of throwing him off
Adrian Smith left in around 1990 and was replaced by Janick Gers. He rejoined in 1999 to make the guitar trio we know today
Im pretty sure hes just saying 'Scream for me Everywhere'...
This show wasn't done for any tour or anything so the the counrty/city this was performed in isn't important, Its just in some studio somewhere in London. This show was filmed specifically for TV and to say goodbye to Bruce.
The stage invader at 1:00 XD
At least Brucey was cool about it
Lol
LMAOOO
And that guy has one of the best "Iron Maiden" stories to tell. I did this at the end of a Deicide set once lol.
Can you imagine Axl Rose in the early 90's doing that? I really doubt it!
WOW. those who saw this live must have been terrified
Imagine the little kids who saw this, they must be horrified
imagine if this was your first Maiden show... "well, seems like Bruce's dead now"
Its really wierd, but as the years go by, Iron Maiden gets more popular. I love maiden, Bruce's voice is still top notch, Harris is still writing powerful lyrics and awesome bass lines, Mcbrain is still a monster on drums, and Janick, Dave, and Adrian are still the kings of guitar.
Up the irons!
... its been so long time. it's good that Bruce is back
I remember watching this when it was originally broadcasted. I'd only gotten into Maiden the year before (1992) thanks to listening to the Friday Rock show with Tommy Vance on radio 1. It was amazing. I've been an Iron Maiden fan ever since.
This song and this concert make me a Maidenist, my cousin shew me this when I
was on third grade at school, (8 years old!)
UP THE IRONS
As much as I couldnt get into Blaze, listen to poor Bruceys voice, him leaving was for the best. While you can still feel his love and enthusiasm you can clearly hear and feel his vocal pain.

Up the Irons forever!!
They did this. THEY. ACTUALLY. DID. THIS. That's amazing.
No they don’t
during the show Maiden kept playing songs, the execution at the end was a recording that was played to those watching it on tv.
Great band, fan since 1982. First time seeing this. I feel the departure of Bruce Dickinson was in pour taste. Iron Maiden has had better theactorial.
I don't know exactly what you mean but Iron Maiden have never stopped touring. They're on tour at the moment, doing songs mostly from the Powerslave to Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son era.
I saw them myself in February, and they're as great as ever.
this must have been really bad for maiden fans then... they didn't even know that bruce would come back... that would be awful.. :(
I hate Iron Maiden so much ;)... Everytime they play they make me look bad as a musician lol... They are such amazing musicians!
Bruce Dickinson is the best singer iron maiden ever had
I still have my VHS of this!
this is a great video, and i love iron maiden, but the video itself isn't loud enough.
Simon Drake is messed up. All these bizzare tricks and acts.
Relaaax, He's been back for 11 years now.
Amazing vid!
Good show, amazing illusionist/magician!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they use a iron maiden to kill Bruce.
Funny and grotesque end with Eddie there. Iron Maiden FTW!

i have this dvd. so amazing!
i used to watch this on a tape with my dad when i was like 10, god i miss that tape
Read the description of the video-- this is from when he left the band and was 'killed off'....
Man, that was so, Alice Cooper! Awesome!
that was some NICE illusionist work
Love that he was singing with one of the fans :D
I saw them during the Powerslave tour. Didn't know who they were. Left the show as biggest fan. Best concert I've been to.
one of the most beautiful video of maiden!
Try playing it louder. That should help. ;)
this is so sick and adds to the live video album a lot
Wow This is great! How hadn´t I seen this before? Great!
Yeah man its hilarious:-D i doubt you could do it nowadays on their concert:-D
To the person who uploaded this: I'm sorry you have to deal with all of these comments from people actually thinking he died, and people thinking they're smart because they are dismissing that it was staged. Sorry half of the comments on this vid half to do with that.

He handled that situation so brilliantly! That's why fans love him, he loves his fans back!
Sorely underrated Maiden song. Even when Metal was out of style, these fellas carried the torch like no others. Up The Irons! See ya in San Antone Nov 17! 🤘🤘🤘

Oh and by the way, this video rocks! Up The Irons!!!
Amazing
0:57 that is heaven for that guy.
now you are on to a whole different argument.
Eddie wins. Fatality...
Simon Drake, the illusionist that Maiden employed for this gig.
You're right ;) Fortunately now they are back together! thanks for the answer UP THE IRONS!
it was Bruce's last show with Maiden for 6 years and he went out in style
Awesome ending. Good thing that Bruce is back though :D
fuck ---i love the last 2/3 minutes of this video, so sick --i love it
ok, thanks for the fo. but why was it done!
a) It was Bruce's last show before rejoining in '99, they obviously wanted him to go with a bang
b) It looks cool!
that ending really owned o.o
because he have fun with his drums
my favorite show of maiden
UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!!!!
I've only heard the original version, with Paul Di'Anno, until now.
yo man. thats true one of the crowd members looks like steve harris.
i was going to say the same thing
and i saw your comment you though the same things as me!!
I read this on a magazine that was talking about the whole band and all the years. From the early days to the AMOLAD.Then i searched on the net and found it and on a statement.
when Bruce points at the guy at 1:02 he is speechless for literally a second... seriously his heart probably stopped.
Excellent!!!
@RedJoe10 Quite likely. It was originally shot as a TV Special.
Who cares, just enjoy the damn show. If your a real Iron Maiden fan, your religion would be Iron Maiden. I know my religion is Iron Maiden.
eddie got his fuggin vengence at the end
If anyone actually thinks that Bruce Dickinson is dead, what are they doing looking up Iron Maiden on youtube if they're that clueless? I called it what I did because its a title that attracts peoples' attention and its also an accurate description.
this concert is very rare ...
cause this was one of the last concert of bruce
and the feeling of Dave Murray is Awesome !!!
more than others concert xD
(I Have a Bad English)
@TheAstragirl Yeah. I went to a concert 2 days ago. I just wasn't sure it was the same singer.
he did say: i'll see aall of you soon... i hope...
Holy crap that's freakin savage! Love this band so much. They always know how to put on a show
Bruce Dickinson (the singer) left the band after this concert, this kind of a going away thing i think. He came back in 2000 and is kicking more ass then ever :)

They chose Bayley because of how different he was to their previous vocalists.
I'm glad they made the Bayley records, they're good in their own right.
If you're gonna leave the band might as well do it in style
sry, i never read the description
@SharpeyN And when Bruce was in Samson, Iron Maiden blew THEM off stage too. :P
oh my GOD!!! That was realy sick...
Bruce. You don´t deserv this.
@nekropink I remember now I was a teenager and I watched it in a holiday chalet in Great Yarmouth. Oh the glamour!
Sheesh, anyone who could know Iron Maiden well enough to be offended should know that Dickinson is perfectly alive and well.
the and was sick!!!!
was it planed?
Nikko always so happy :D
He wasnt in Maiden at the time, he left after Seventh Son of a Seventh Son in 1988, and Janick Gers replaced him before releasing No Prayer for the Dying in 1990, then Adrian Smith returned in 2000 for Brave New World
that fan is a genious, I wish I could talk to him some day
When he started to work as a pilot.
