Hello Dr.B. I watch your videos constantly. I used to watch it while I was studying undergrad. I am trying to join your streams. It is very useful in terms of repetition. I was accepted as a postgrad and you played a big part in this. I wanted to share this joy with you. So glad to have you!
Thanks for the kind words and congrats on the postgrad acceptance! It was good to see you in the streams. Streaming is very new to me so if you have any suggestions they are most welcome.
You are the best channel for the Indians like me 😅 everything is related to our course and you teach us perfect Thank You for that :) And i hav exam tomorrow of sci 😂💀
Thanks! I stream Tuesday, Thursday, & Sunday 8:30 pm EST (20:30 UTC). Usually for about 20-30min. This evening will be on balancing equations and the mole ratio.
Respected sir, i am a school student. Sir for writing a formula using criss cross method we have to remember their ionic charge or else it is not possible. Sir, please guide me.
So if you had something like FeCl3 . You know that each chlorine is 1 -, therefore. the iron would be 3+. So really, you're looking at what the transition metal is bonded to figure out its oxidation state.
Hlo sir I have a question In any chemical reaction if we know state of some element not all So what to doo ? Will it correct if we write the state of element we know or will it either incorrect 😅
I would write the state if you know it. For example, ionic compounds will be solid (unless you put them in water - if they are soluble they would be aqueous). Some things like H2, O2, N2, Cl2, Br2, will be gases. Perhaps I'll do a video on how to tell the state of the substances in a chemical equation when I have a chance.
I am a sophomore taking chemistry right now… I was trying to study for a test, and found this video. It really helped!!! Thank you so much!!
Great to hear it helped! The best in chemistry.

Thank you dr.B i really needed this as my exam is on monday !!❤❤❤
Hope your exam went well!
thanks a lot for the explaination! it helped me a lot!
This is very helpful sir i became topper the reason is only you❤❤❤
Great to hear!
Wow, I really understand this method... thanks
Excellent!
A problem I've always had with glucose was figuring out if there was a way of writing its chemical formula using the criss cross method
You are the best thanks a lot❤❤❤❤
Thank you you help me ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Much helpful
Thanks a Lot!
You're welcome!
Hello MrBreslyn I liked and subscribed...how do you know if they balance each other out?
They have opposite charges which means they balance out. The compound becomes neutral since these 2 elements have opposite charges. Hope that helps!!
For Lead (IV) Sulfite would it be Pb2 (SO4)4?
Close !

nice!
Your a W sigma male alpha and everything for explaining jt because my techer cant
Thanks!
Respected sir, i am a school student. Sir for writing a formula using criss cross method we have to remember their ionic charge or else it is not possible. Sir, please guide me.
But how to do it if there are different oxidation states possible
So if you had something like FeCl3 . You know that each chlorine is 1 -, therefore. the iron would be 3+. So really, you're looking at what the transition metal is bonded to figure out its oxidation state.
Does this work for all ionic formulas?
Yes, that is what it is intended for.
