Theses brothers wrote real LOVE songs. They were huge, on BBC Radio 1 50 times a day back in the late 70s and early 80s. At clubs then (I was a bit too young to get into clubs but I had connections to fake ID) and when this song played, all the most sparkly couples took to the dance floor and the mirrored ball cast a magic spell over the dance floor with the help of the BeeGees. This and Too Much Heaven were the number one snogging songs then, no surprise.

Music videos were not popular until MTV, but some groups tried them out before they became popular by just filming them performing however they could. So these are early concept videos, no much imagination to them. It’s the 70’s and the music was what was important. Not the flashy videos.

  • @Yenerator

My personal theory on the "walking around" thing is because, apparently, behind the scenes there was "conflict" between Barry and Robin (both wanting to sing lead) so they probably wanted to make sure all three brothers were the focus and not just Barry even though he is clearly the "lead" on the majority of their songs. ((shrug)) They're not really a dance-y group, I think their music and voices pretty much speak for themselves. :)
Also, they are British so shout out to the UK for producing two of my favorite bands -- the Bee Gees and Duran Duran! HA!

Michael Jackson was obsessed with the Bee Gees and their music. They had a great relationship with Michael, except as Barry once said, a few times he had to ask Michael to leave his house because he was basically spending hours on hours socializing with Barry. Despite having to ask Michael to leave there were never any hard feelings.

Well, this was before music videos were as they are now. Showing them walking together shows the three other brothers and their contributions to the song. They didn’t want to make anyone the lead singer, so all three always appeared together. This was before auto tune so they focused on their perfect harmonics. You can’t sing like that if you’re jumping around and sweating a lot.

Although The Bee Gees were a part of the Disco Dance era, I've never seen any of them Disco Dancin'. So, walking around is probably the next best thing. Could you react to "Fanny Be Tender With My Love". If you do, please choose a live version instead of studio because they go wild on this when live. Thanks!

The BeeGees had their most commercial success during their disco period, 1976-79 (roughly) with several number 1 hits in America. The disco period included standard disco tunes, like Night Fever, Stayin' Alive and You Should Be Dancing along with R&B tunes like How Deep is your Love and Too Much Heaven. BeeGees were the kings of disco but damn good at R&B too. Barry Gibb took the lead in vocals during this period.
The pre-disco period produced lots of hits but only 1 number 1 song (several in the top 50). Robin Gibb took the lead vocals in many of the pre-disco songs though Barry sang quite a bit too. The pre-disco period has a bit different vibe from the disco period, more cerebral lyrics. When reacting to future songs, you might want to look up the release date to understand which period it came from. For example, don't expect to hear a disco tune from BeeGees that was released prior to 1975-76. And you might see Robin on lead prior to 1976.

GOOD REACTION. I know you would recognize their song called "STAYIN ALIVE." Here are some facts about the Bee Gee's:
1.Barry Gibbs is 2 years older than I am. I grew up in this Era called DISCO.
2.Barry was the lead singer and his brother's were mostly backup, but all 3 were GREAT.
3.This was Family Harmony at its best.
(Three voices that sounds like one).
4.They were a normal band until they tried something different.
5.It was an accident, they decided to sing "FALSETTO" for fun.
6.The people loved it, and DEMANDED more.
7 This became their unique, signature sound, and trademark that shot them to the top.
    8. Barry was the lead singer, Robin and Maurice HARMONIZED ALSO IN FALSETTO.
9.Their unique sound that made them famous.
10 If you listen close you can hear the Falsetto of all 3.
    11. It became their standard. The Disco Era was dying at this point.
    12. The Bee Gee's Music, breathed new life into the Disco Era.
13, That kept DISCO alive and popular for many more years.
    14. The Bee Gee's wrote 1030 songs in their life.
15.They wrote many songs, for other famous artist, who made those songs famous.
16.They broke many long standing records, in their lifetime.
    17. They wrote all of their own music.
    18. And all 3 played instruments themselves.
    19. They would be honored that a new generation is hearing their music.
    20. Feel free to check out my facts for yourself.
