Hay it is Justin I am so glad that my idea worked for you I work on machines part-time for myself love watching your videos because you can always learn tricks from other people glad i was able to share one of mine with you make sure you check that rear prop shaft splines they like to get round and strip catch it before you put the diff back in good luck
I’m a millwright and we use cans of air all the time for stuff like that. The cans of air are actually propane so when you flip them upside down you can freeze shafts and bearings to help break things loose.
Crazy glad you got it out, good on you to overcharge you're customers lots of shops don't deal with this ,they just say need new Diff regardless if the customer wants or can afford that
That is crazy! Those are the worst. Jobs like that are horrible to do because like you stated you get way too many hours into them than you can charge. A Honda shop probably wouldn't have did that for sure and would have just put in a new differential. Love your videos and wish you were closer you definitely put in the work and know your stuff and make even the horrible jobs look easier.
That was not fun at all… my arms are still going numb everytime I lay down now after that job… Glad you enjoy the videos and appreciate the kind words.
Thanks for all the vids. There was something wrong with the volume control in this vid. Had to put volume way up and when you added the parts about the previous video all of a sudden it was super loud.
Glad that you put the struggles in the videos- makes us home mechanics not feel so bad and shows us how to keep coming up with ideas. I had a 660 grizzly front differential stuck bad once and opened it up and had red soup inside of it like you did. I just went on ebay and ordered a new to me used diff and put new seals on it and was good to go.
Oh my lord, i think i would have just bought a new differential if i had to do it on my own personal machine... :D But awesome job man! That was definitely one of the most stressful jobs you had to take on. I do not think there are many mechanics, who would have taken it on, seeing how stuck it was.
ad to fight 2 rust welded axel in a front diff of a polaris sportsman 500 few week's ago got them out by removing the front diff and hit them with a balljoint fork tool and a bit of heat ! what a pain
Just today I went with a friend to purchase an EZGO 4x4. Someone "deleted" the front CV axles rather than going through the whole ordeal. I own a '95 Magnum 425 that someone hacked off the axles as well.
Crazy! I can't believe the press didn't take it out, but once we saw whats inside, wow. Its not your fault that guy was mudding and neglecting his Rig, do you think the Honda dealer wouldn't charge full hourly for extracting that shaft? I'd at least charge a few hours, at least you saved the case!
That’s a real nightmare right there . I was worried i would run into that on my rzr 900 that i’m selling two weeks ago . when i had to replace a bad axle
Your patience. I don’t know how you do it. Maybe the hissy fit and throwing things don’t make it on the video, but I commend you. What’s the break even point of calling the customer and telling them it’s cheaper to replace the diff?
Oh Man, what you could get into with a purchasing a used ATV that said it only needs a new CV Boot. Could that damage be the results of mud, water, sand, Slurry Mix ?
The stuff that was actually in the interals of the diff do not make there way into the cv shaft end. However water/dirt makes its way in from bad seals. And I’m sure that diff got pretty hot not having oil in it, which didn’t help things.
hoe my gawd! watched both of these part 1 and 2's found my self close to anxiety attacks watching it. I'd have had it beat to pieces long ago. hope you charge the owner for your time on this. was his lack of maintenance that put you in this position.
Umm.. but you can charge for the labor! It’s not your fault that it wasn’t maintained properly and took forever to get apart. You are only shorting yourself and you worth.
@@rockspowersports tell him to watch your two videos after you give him the bill. he can come back and say "sure i would have done the press thing from the beginning!!! baahahahah

Made my day when I saw “Part 2”. I swear to god I’ll make sure the boots on my Suzuki are in good shape from now on.
Glad I got it out for you!
The sound of victory @ 9:52 , i felt your relief.
Master mechanic rock.

My local motorbike mechanic shop would charge for every hour spent mate don't sell yourself short, top work by the way and love the vids

I fought a swingarm bolt for 2 days, feels so good when it finally comes out. love the channel
The secret to torching things is it causes expansion. You want to heat whatever the female part is. If you heat the male part it expands tighter.
Now that is one MEANN slide hammer, Home made for the worst of situations i see! Good ideas all around.
this was almost a drama series like on tv!!!had to wait for part 2 to see if it lives or dies!!!!lol
At least YOU READ ur COMMENTS! Hats off 2 ya SIR🏁😉
I try!
Fluid was probably all the WD you put in it! That’s insane! Quality work Rock!👍👍👍👍👍
Was so excited for part 2 🎉🎉
Glad to get it out for you then!
Been there on wheelers and vehicles it's joyous
I've had best luck walking them out. 2 pry bars. I've had a few really bad ones. Bo matter how hard I pulled with a puller, the bars always worked
Good job! Thats water inside the differential did not help that clip situation at all! Definitely needs a rebuild!

Yeah. I had my phone up full volume and could barely hear.
So glad that you were able to get it out!
You and me both..

I knew you would eventually win. Sucks to have to go through the hassle though.
Nice when it actually popped.
Love the videos!!
Love all the videos mate keep them coming 👍

@@rockspowersports u will get to the top QUICKLY but only if u do MORE VIDS.. do 1🎥qty every 2 days (30min min) to get a STRONGER RYTHEM…

Excellent
I love your content! You need a 3x8 steel table. Haha you probably know that.
Same thing on ours. Had to replace whole diff and both cv's

Wow!
Nice job , happy you got that pig off 😅
Thanks man! That was a battle for sure.
Hope you voted Rock! Keep the videos coming!😊
Honestly headed over right now to do so.
hi there ive got a few wheelers lots of polaris parts 700 engine 2022 sportsman 850 case 850 engine and so on

Thats a pretty small rear differential for that machine , are those full-time 4wd?
These Rincon’s you can take in and out of 4x4.
What a nightmare😮

That's when you stop and tell them you pay the hrs or buy a new diff. Giving free labor of horse shit!
Are you still going to videos on the rest of the repairs?
Why is my bill $10,000 for a rear end?? 😂 unbelievable cv shaft!
i use a big pickle fork polaris is ready bad for that to
Damn
Just a little advice,,,, you need a vice?
Disrespect of a machine like that demands a big bill.
HEAT
Yup I've had so that lots of pb blaster and heat
Trump wins.....we get our country back Rock......Great video. Thanks
