Good video rock. My 13 made that same noise but probably worse even in 2wd. I picked up and went to load and 4x4 didn't work. Was told everything worked. Drove it about 2 miles and it got very very bad to where it would only go slow and would bind and almost bring it to a stop. Had to get back to the house and about 200 yards from the front totally locked up. This was in spring 2016 lol. It's just sat in the garage and I've used parts for my 900 at times. I'm afraid my diff is totally toast not worth the rebuild after watching this. Thanks for another great video.
Great video Rock, I recently did the same job for a customer on the same machine! The internals were totally shot to the point that it caused internal case damage, so it required a complete diff replacement. Almost exactly what your video shows.
Nice video's you are knowledgeable and straight to the point. Don't waste time showing disassembly and reassembly. Just overall enjoy watching your shows. Make more
I have a 2010 ranger same problem the front diff was toast, I removed it and cut off some old cv axles to tighten the wheel bearings up on. Now it’s just a 2wd machine until I get a complete new diff.
Once I saw the Executioners on it, you know that the cage is going to be blown, tie rods wrecked, bushings shot, I always read that big tires on Polaris front diffs = explosion. I really like the auto diff lock on that 800 ATV though, just can't put too much stress in there, as the Ranger guy is going to find out when its new\used diff time. (those part out guys are charging more then ever I see, gonna be pricey!)
can’t wait for part 2 would it be worth it to look for a used differential on like ebay vs new one . I know on my old rzr 800 a new diff could be up to 2k
Rock just throw this out there you are aware you’re not supposed to throw it in four-wheel-drive while giving it gas. That’s straight from Polaris . Easy way to snap an axle.
Sweet! Polaris content! Nice job, and good to have you back again
Thanks!
Wow!! thank you sir!!! Appreciate that and glad you enjoy the videos.
Glad you’re back.
Glad you're making videos again!
keep them coming brother, this are the best thing to watch in the morning next to some bacon and eggs

Thanks for watching!

Oh no! That’s awful just buying a machine and dealing with that…
@@rockspowersports I was never very easy on it. I like to do a lot of mudding

And Yeah it’s certainly too bad, but that’s what happens when you keep running it for months making bad noises..
Can’t wait till part 2,3,4 &5! Also brakes!
Great vid !! a top notch mechanic !! Love this channel
Thank you! I’ll keep the videos coming.

Made me spit out my coffe when the cage fell apart. That was funny. 😂love the content 👌
Yeah that was quite a few pieces haha..
@@rockspowersports all jokes aside buddys in for a expensive repair or make stubs for the front and run in 2wd
I've always found being a bit maint. proactive to be cheaper than this fella's bill.Dig deep.
you do good honest work!
Thanks!
Man kollin Spencer I see you every were it seems lol I only found rocks powersports because the three wheelers now I watch a lot
@@Red-head-triple1 just happens we watch most of the same good channels
Id be willing to bet that is an aftermarket cage. OEM ones are all plastic. Great video Rock.
Very well could be! And thanks glad you thought so!
Came on here on my lunch break before opening the app j said please have him post a new video
Glad to be part of your lunch break!
He can try to get a east lake front diff for around 500$ so far mines working fine. Great video

Yeah for sure! Those tires are heavy and have some very aggressive tread which is hard on everything.
Wow that’s a bad one for sure. I would be looking for a used diff and refurbish it.
Input shaft doesn't came in the rebuild kit. It usually is separate and cost around $250
can’t wait for part 2 would it be worth it to look for a used differential on like ebay vs new one . I know on my old rzr 800 a new diff could be up to 2k
I was thinking halfway into that case that it be better to look for a used one

Yes sir I do know this. Pretty sure the customer knows as well, but I can make sure when he takes it.
Where did the diff oil go or leak from. Checking your gear oil once in awhile could of helped.
Most likely it leaked out that front pinion seal that fell off when I removed the driveshaft.
How would one get In touch with you. I need exhaust for Arctic cat 400. It came with a mbr exhaust way to loud
Hey hows it doing. Its been a while. Have a great day
Hey Jonathan, glad to see your back in the comments!
Is this just lack of maintenance or why would this happen?
Could be lack of maintenance along with it gets abused pretty good while plowing.
You can order these pots through John Deere. They use The The same diff as Polaris and a lot cheaper for part's
Parts
I did not know that!
I had a '05 sportsman 500 and I had to do the front diff many times and order the stuff to John Deere doesn't hurt to check in on it
Ouch
You should be using jack stands. You’re putting way too much faith in that jack.
Arkansas Waven
I bet the guys gonna wish he did some maintenance🤦♂️.
Hi
Is it me or does that engine sound terrible?
Polaris is such junk!
You got that right
If I was the owner I’d be wondering why there’s no stands under there…. Especially a Daytona shit jack. Come on dude you’re better than this.
Note to self: never buy a Polaris….
😂😂😂
@@freedommowers420 I just bought a Polaris yesterday…. 🤣 it’s a total peice
@@The_Home_Pros oh no!!! Well I know you have the skill set to fix it if it’s worth it. I’m trying to save up for a Yamaha rhino 660
@@freedommowers420 well I only paid 50 bucks for it and that’s only because it came with a brand new Duracell battery
@@The_Home_Pros your a wise person 🫡😂😂. Are we going to see a video on that one?
All do respect but you need Jack stands under the Ranger
Yes you’re right, it would be much safer with jackstands under it.
