This is one of the best conversions I’ve seen on an old Sprinter van. I have a passenger, low top, Dodge as well. Unfortunately, I cannot convert it until all my 5 children move out 😂.
I have the passenger. I wanted the trifecta. People hauler. Camper. Work van for remodeling work. I have achieved it pretty well. Only 6 seats. Bed for 2 or 1. Outdoor hose and back door sink/table for food prep. I Plan to add inside small sink and food prep area in a module that goes in when one seat is out. Would like a hot water shower option and solar inverter. Thinking of adding a penthouse pop top. Still work in Progress.
Impressive. I recently bought a Ford Transit low roof. I’m 5’11 and had regrets of not getting a high roof. After seeing this I realize I made the right choice. Great video thx for sharing!!!
Thanks for the kind words. I’m 5’10” and my wife is 5’3” so neither of us are excessively tall. The sprinter low roof still has a fair amount of space inside. Floor to ceiling in my build is 5’3” so my wife can stand straight up but her head is against the ceiling standing. Do you know how tall your transit low roof is inside? I’d be curious to know.
Man thank you so much for the video very informative and very well built, I intend to buy the same one and there are not so many videos with builds in this 144 low roof model, again thanks, you gave me some nice ideas for my project.
Well done and so inspirational. I have an Australian ex ambulance in this same size as yours but with 2 side doors. It's been my work truck but am now wanting to convert it to an RV. Thanks to you I have some constructive ideas. Thanks man!
Thanks for sharing. It's hard to find videos on low roof conversions but they definitely work and for some of us, are the only option since parking a high roof isn't possible at home.
I’d love to know the measurements of the upper cabinets over the sink area. I’m building out a low roof and this is one of my next tasks trying to see how small I can get them and still be useful. Yours look to be the perfect size. ~A
Thank you for sharing this! I am only 5' and am seriously considering the low roof for the lower cost. It looks like I will be able to live comfortably in the low roof!
Well thought out conversion. Also like the low roof, but concerned about headroom over the galley area. Would be nice to see a list of the components you used.
Very nice build. I've got the same van. Kicking around ideas of what to do with it (being that it is the less desirable low roof.) Glad you are making great use of it.
the low roof has advantages: better stability and less drag at highway speed, especially with lateral or front wind (my 4x4 sprinter has an average of 18.9 mpg over 105,000 miles), easier to load heavy equipment on the roof rack (I have two 80lbs kayaks), easier to find a car wash accepting its hight. I am 6 feet tall and after 5 years since I ordered it, still happy with my choice.
Awesome job with the van. Great planning with the layout of everything. You're set to travel anywhere you want to bring your ski. Maybe a trip to Florida Keys or Bimini part 2? You are good to go.
Well done, I love it. If you don”t mind saying, just for reference, how tall are you verses the height of the interior? Would a person need to sit to wash dishes and cook,, or is it comfortable just bending a little?
Thanks for uploading this. Great build. I have been looking for a standard roof conversation video, and this is perfect. Did you convert yourself or was most of it done with the previous owner?
Thank you! I did the conversion in its entirety by myself. The previous owner had a simple wooden bed frame in the back with some sheeting screwed to the walls. No electrical or water. I gutted and started from a blank slate
The sprinter was also sold under the dodge and freightliner names. It’s always been a Mercedes under the hood, but it’s been branded as dodge, freightliner, and Mercedes.

Wow, super clean build 😮 super organised
Very nice build, It reinforces my desire to build my camper van in a low roof version, thank you

Closest to what I Have done and am trying to do With my 144 low roof. Thanks!
Thanks for showing this! I just bought a low roof Sprinter for better clearance and was kind of bummed that not many people do builds with them.

Love the build. I too have a 144, I'm in the process of doing a mild build looking for ideas, thanks for the video. I subscribed.

Nice job. I think the exhaust for the diesel heater could have been in a better spot. I like the low roof vans.

Absolutely! You would be able to save room by doing a width wise bed instead of front to back also.
For the fact that you’re 5’ a low roof will be perfect for you. Low roof vans are so much cheaper
I'm the same height and have one. I love it. Working on conversion.
I used the Ikea bed system for mine and it works great. Rails are mounted to the side wall with L track and special hardware.
Nice build. Thanks for the walk around.
Intuitive build for such a small space. Thanks for sharing.

Love it. Lots to see and learn from. Thanks.

love your build. can you tell me the make/model of the radio apple car play head unit. I was not able to hear what you used?
Nice fit out! 🔥🔥

What is the brand of head unit you put in. I didn’t understand the name from the video. Very interested. Thx
Great video, well done. Thanks man :)
What is the length of the load area in back overall on this van? Trying to size up what I can do in a similar looking van to yours
Hello! Please tell me where to find such a multimedia system?
What was that head unit? I can’t find a Dole brand

You did a fantastic job. Approx. how long did it take you?
@@prc90272 I appreciate it! Start to finish about 2 1/2 months. 3-4 ten hour days a week.
Is this a RWD or a 4x4? Thanks
What’s the interior height?
Why does it have Dodge badges?
The sprinter was also sold under the dodge and freightliner names. It’s always been a Mercedes under the hood, but it’s been branded as dodge, freightliner, and Mercedes.
hmmm im 5'8 idk
Very clean build and nice color. Love the natural wood tones. Was this the original paint? 21:20 Shiloh Water Systems?
