I have the exact same exhaust setup as you do, but on a 530i. We also share the same issue when we rev the engine... the undertow... I noticed that it appeared as soon as I removed the resonator. Have bought a after market sport resonator (full flow) to see if that does the trick. Otherwise I'll add one more full flow at the rear to get those undertows away. The reason why you get the undertows is because there is too little resistance for the engine.

As a person from eastern Europe, I really do not know how expensive welding is in the US, however here, this type of job costs about 15 USD + about as much for the cheap steel pipes. For $360 I think you should be able to find a decent muffler replacement, that's gonna sound better than stock but won't annoy your neighbors. Might as well do a cat delete, it should sound even louder. PS: my cat delete was the equivalent of $9.40 lol
Thanks for making this video, I’m doing this setup
I did this exact setup on my 530i and I agree its amazing. though I cant lie I have a friend who did it for $70 bucks so if anyone in the comments knows someone who can bend pipes and weld good see if they will give you a deal.
res delete by me is like 220.. 💀
@@romereorambudhan9057 yeah I'm glad to know someone who can do it lol before I knew he did exhaust work a company charged me 250 to install a muffler on a car I used to have.
Still looks so beautiful in 2021. Gotta love the e90s ! is she an lci?
Yep shes an LCI and she's still a stunner
@@InlineSixAuto Lovely !!!! The Lcis are becoming quite scarce..
I have muffler delete and resonator delete I paid 175 for both in Virginia and I paid 50 dollars for
Big 4 inch tip from different shop 😎but you’res sounds so much better
This is what I was thinking about getting on my 328i , can you post a video
Dude I just subbed to your channel!! I love your car and info! How many miles are on your 328??
Thanks! Its got 117k miles currently

that’s a beautiful sound
Very clean und also a nice sound. German cops would love to give you a ticket because of the loudness! 😂
Greets from Germany :-)
i have a muffler delete now and i exactly know what you mean by it being “light” it sounds more air-ey and it it’s missing the deep tone without the resonator
What is the weird sounds at 3:15 I hear in the background?
I think that was my phone camera vibrating from the car going over bumps in the road.
@@InlineSixAuto rumor has it it was this thing called a turn signal trying to figure out who this guy is but I’ll let you know when I do

I did a Muffler delete with secondary cat delete sounds the best to me resonator is too raspy for me but yours sound good
I have a 328 and was thinking about doing a muffler and resonator delete. Do you have any clips of your car you can send
I would have liked to hear some drive bys or atleast a good launch. Sounds really nice though.
Honestly don’t know why I didn’t think of doing that also for the video. I totally should of included clips of that.
Hey great video.😎 I was planning pyn buying a used 2008 328i. Do you recommend it? What are the pros or cons? Thanks alot!👍
The reason why you get the undertows is because there is too little resistance for the engine.
just get a muffler and resonator delete 😂
@@moneymusso6524 That’s what he did dumbass. He’s saying he’s got some issues with how it sounds.
new to ur channel love ur car tho i have a 328i too and i wanna know if u added any type of flowmaster to make it sound as deep as it is rn or if u just made the muffler delete and resanator delete make it sound like that?
only muffler and resonator has been deleted, nothing else was added!
@@InlineSixAuto thank you, and i heard you also put tips gonna try that this week!
Thanks, been wanting to do something with the exhaust on my E90 323 (N52B25). Was considering an resonator delete to start
I did the same thing to mine. Sounds amazing
best e90 hands down but i was wondering do you pass smog i live in cali too and really want to do this thanks 🙏
Yes I still pass
Damn. 1:34 That NA engine. Beautiful.
Love it, sounds exactly like my e90
This BMW is an e90
@@treybecker5637 I never said it wasn’t ?
you should do a twin rocket style exhaust like the 335 but with 3” tips
I’m actually seeing if I could do that
@@InlineSixAuto but late but i think you can because i did it both in my 318 and 330 and have seen it on 320 as well
@@saihaan2831 I looked into and it seems that, I think what is called the "EVAP/Charcoal canister" is in the way of where the exhaust piping needs to go on the passenger side to fit with the dual exit diffuser. Some people have said they moved it but I'm not sure how you just move it so I don't know if I'll do the conversion since I dont really want to mess with all that.
@@InlineSixAuto i took it to my exhaust guy and he managed to do it and like the tips up perfectly. i’m based in the uk and he has over 16 years of experience. you should take it to an exhaust shop get it on the ramp and see other the car to see what you can do to try and make it like the 335
I think I’ve figured it out. Planning to get it done within the next month.
Is the exhaust noise loud in the cabin?
I have a 2011 328i x drive I did a muffler delete but I would also like to delete the resonator for more sound its too quiet for me😂😂 does the resonator delete come with any issues on the long term for the car?
Quick question, if I do a muffler and resonator delete will that cause a check engine light ?
Nope. Those don't affect emissions
@@InlineSixAuto thank you bro
Where can i get a straight pipe to push that exhaust tips in?
Question where did you go to get your muffler and resonator delete from if I may ask I also live in Southern California and I’ve been looking for a place
I got it done at Master Brake & Muffler in Escondido, CA
How has this car been mechanically and how old did you buy this car?
The car has had its typical oil leaks and I've replaced the IBS sensor and the water pump & thermostat but that's it. Car has been solid the last 4 years owning it. Its a 2009 and I got it as 93k miles in 2018. Now its at 118k miles
@@InlineSixAuto Doesn't sound too terrible... Looking to buy one and am still a little hesitant about reliability...
@@MartinJones123 i just got 140k miles. The most major problem I’ve experienced so far is computer module going out at 138k miles. Cost me 1k at the shop for installing. These things if maintained properly, can hit 200k miles, I’ve heard!

Mine has a muffler and resonator delete but isn’t loud. Any explanations? And how can I make it loud???
So it doesn't sound like how mine does in the video?
Donde conseguiste la vistita que tienes en la cajuela?
Sounds awesome man, I was wanting to know what was the inlet and outlet size you had on the car, I’ve got a 2013 that I wanna do the same thing to and I’m in the market for the tips.
The inlet and outlet of the exhaust tips?
@@InlineSixAuto yeah the tips have a diameter of say 2.5 inch inlet and a 3.5 inch outlet. I was wondering what you used.
@@julianpompa The exhaust tip itself is 3 inches all the way through. The pipe that it is connected to is 2.5 inches
@@InlineSixAuto oh wow man, I was told it has to be 2.5 to connect to it, whoever put on your tip made it work with the 3 inch. I’ve been hearing different stuff on the size of the pipe 3 inch and 2.5 inch so I’ve been trying to find more info on which one it is.
@@julianpompa Yeah its cause I originally had black tips when I first got the muffler delete but after a year the tips started to fade and I got these to replace them. The size doesn't really matter. The pipe that replaced the resonator is actually 3.5 inches so I had 3 different sized piping lol but they all worked
She sounds awesome I just bought 2011 328i was looking do to the same but I have one question I heard you say southern Cali do you have any problem with smog with the delete?
Which rear bumper is this? I wanted something similar with the singular exhaust port
M sport rear bumper with the single exit performance diffuser
Hey man, trying to get this exact setup on my 2009 328i, I really love it. Quick question tho, how wide are the pipe and exhaust tips?
The pipe is 2.5 inch in diameter and the tips are 3.5 inches
Ik I’m a little late to this video but how do u get it to pass inspection
it was wont have any affect on emissions inspection. and A lot of shops don't really care since deleting the muffler and resonator don't effect emissions
i did this to my 328 and it doesn’t burble nearly as much as all the cars i’ve been seeing online
Would you suggest muffler and secondary car delete ? Or muffler and resonator delete
I'd recommend a muffler and res delete. that way you don't mess with emissions control which the secondary cats play a role in
@@InlineSixAuto okay thank you , nice car as well ! It’s a really nice build
This vid over a year ago so idk if anyone will respond but if I do a muffler or resonator delete will it mess with my engine and reliability and throw codes or will it still drive and be the same and no codes?
It will have no affect. It will function and drive exactly the same. Itll just be louder lol
Does this make any lights pop up on the dashboard ?
no light will pop up

What tips are they idk if you mentioned
Do you have exhaust tips and if so What do you have?
what inch piping did you have them replace the muffler and resonator with?
I had two different size piping since I got them done at different times and at different shops. The muffler area had 2.5 inch piping while the area where the resonator was 3 inch piping
I drove an E91 with resonator & muffler delete, drone 2 000-3,000 RPM was unbearable 😫.
Interested to know if drone is reduced with just muffler delete keeping stock resonator?
Thanks
They’ll definitely be less drone with only a muffler delete. I had that initially. I didn’t do the resonator delete till like a year later
Y pipe? If so where can I buy one & about what price range :)?
Hey what did you do to get rid of the drone cause I’ve seen that to be a big issue with this
The drone isn't that bad tbh. For my car at least. So I haven't done anything to quiet the drone.
@@InlineSixAuto ok
Was the drone too much or was it fine, thinking of doing this setup on my 330i and I wanted your opinion.
The drone is there but it wasn't to the point of being annoying

What’s the name of that bumper I’ve been looking for the same one?
M-Sport bumper
where can i get the exhaust from, where can I buy this ? i love it 🙂
You just go to your local muffler shop and have them do a muffler delete for you.
Might as well do second cat delete, they don't mess with emissions and won't throw CEL, they basically don't do anything, more gains without it
Pretty sure I wouldn’t pass living in California. I get mixed claims about people passing or not passing so I just left it alone. But it would be nice to get the extra gains.
@@InlineSixAuto It's up to the tech of the tech passes visual inspection go for the secondary cat removal but if tech fails keep the muffler and resonater delete. Im also second guessing cat delete

I still have it. The only big thing I did was do a dual exhaust exit conversion but it doesnt sound the same at the moment
Did either delete throw up any codes? Did you need to remap the ecu or anything?
nope
just wondering what exhaust tips did you get?
Theyre 3.5 inch stainless steel. I got them from the shop that did the muffler delete
I have a N52 330. Dont want it to get too loud. But i want a deeper and louder sound, burbles is a big plus.
What do people think about only deleting the resonator and leaving the muffler?
deleting resonator only, leaving the muffler has no change in sound from what I've seen. Would sound same as stock pretty much.
@@InlineSixAutoIn that case i might just delete both and install a louder muffler.
But im still curious to know how it sounds with resonator only delete 😅
