I bought my stage 3 intake at a u-pull it, $24 for the intake and disa valves, I've been using it for 3 years now. All I need is the header.
you all prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?
I stupidly lost the login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Sincere Ivan thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out now.
Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Sincere Ivan It worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my account!
@Maxwell Kenzo glad I could help :)
5:57 I got my 3 stage with both disa and map sensor for 22 bucks
Oh wow. Normally I don't really like this color but this is one sick bimmer. The black accents, they just work. Awesome car dude!
Super clean! Would’ve liked to see the interior though. I felt kind of attacked when you talked about catbacks not being worth it lol I have an AA exhaust and it’s probably my fav mod. Love seeing people work on 325’s or 328’s. Pretty difficult to squeeze more power out of N52s 😕
Hey man care to share a link of your exhaust sound?
Bolt ons are worth every penny. I have aa headers with secondary cats deleted and a tune from evolve. That’s the money maker for power on these N51/N52s
@@Kevin-jn7ut Is your evolve tuning switchable?
Kevin R I really wish I could do that, but I don’t have a way to pass the smog like that in Cali lol. Bet it sounds like a dream though! How much power are you making after the tune?
Niladri Haldar yes you can switch back to stock with their software.
You just made me fall in love with my car even more
Instead of getting the CAI, most could just delete the charcoal filter and get a K&N drop-in and the performance gains are likely similar.
how much is the K&N fikter.
@@stazzyjayy7346 Around ~$45 USD.
exactly..I did same with dry AFE filter and with xDelete gives some nice inital power to get traction light
the responsiveness of the pedal depends on how you drive the car. my pedal was sluggish when i got it but after pushing the car for some time, the pedal became more sensitive in regular drive. Based on the research ive done the first thing you want to do is change your rod bearings. an optional upgrade, but highly recommended, is upgrading your cams to some high performance ones. then you want to go with a better oil cooling system and radiator. you can also get the engine ported and polished. Built head is also optional. Suspension upgrade and slotted brakes. air filter is good too but you wont notice it unless you have a good feel for your engine. a good exhaust system is a must as well.
Any suggestions for high performance cams?
What you talking bout rod bearings are good if u change oil every 10.000kms 6.000 miles and use good oil no Dollar tree shit
Wouldnt you just be better off buying a 335 at that point?
@@dirkvanviersen671 of course its faster but also a lot more unreliable and expensive to maintain
WOOT WOOT same colour as my '28
Recommending a $500 cai as a starter mod is so fucking funny
I dont recommend it anymore LOL.
Your car looks amazing. I love the N52! I had 330i with increased throttle sensitivity and M3 rear swaybar, absolutely loved driving it! Reminded me of my old e36 M3. Ungraded to 335i, but looking to go back to NA, it was just more fun.
Never heard someone else say they ungraded to a 335i lol. But interesting take! I also ended up getting a 335i and kind of have the same feeling as you. Yeah it’s faster but I have more fun driving my 328i still. Idk if it’s cause the 335i is still completely stock but I’ll see when I get to that point.
I just got a 330xi 06 for my first car, Any tips or things u recommend?
@@InlineSixAuto its also not very reliable the 335i
Great vid man! Keep up the good work!
I need to tune mine, I've got the N51 and it comes with the 3 stage already. I had a 325xi before, and there's a huge difference. I am planning on doing a pedal commander for the pedal lag.
Go with sprintbooster v3.. I tried pedal commander and Sprint and there was a clear difference
My problem is I have a z4 2.5si that already has the 3 stage manifold. Mods are thin on the ground.
I agree with you on the sound being important. I have bought the sound pipe for my N52 that did not come with it. No HP increase but better sound.
Luv and Peace.
Well done Pal, nice mods, and you save good amount of money in the process as well
bro thanks for this video it helps me a lot! keep it up
Really great detailed step-by-step video that is extremely helpful! I’ve been toying with the idea of doing my F82 engine cover but the videos that I’ve seen have been sloppy looking and uninspiring. You’ve re-inspired me, Peyton!
Oops, I meant to post this on your engine cover video....sorry, Jeff
secondary cat delete and muffler delete is the icing on the cake
^^
Wow, I really want to do all these but I don’t got that cash lmao, but I did cop the 3 stage intake off a junk car for $40, just gotta search the right places 😆
How was it?
Hard to install?
Nice clean car I am actually doing the same exact paint theme on a 550i but in red 👌
if anyone has a 328 sold in california, oregon, Washington and a select few other states, your car already had a stage 3 manifold. it’s a SULEV compliant engine called the N51 which for the manifold to compensate for lower compression ratio. different tune than the 330 which is why it makes 230 and not 260 like the 330 does. get a proper tune and you’ll get that power back for like 400 bucks. this guy is in california and he probably already had a stage 3 lmao
never been a fan of muffler deletes but i have a flowmaster super 40 it’s basically just there deepest tone available and then a res delete and a different cold air intake i like the sound just need some headers now lol
I have the afe carbon cold air intake on mine. Injen pedal controller. AA stage one tuned for after market exhaust and cold air intake with the stock intake. Secondary cat delete and resonator delete with a custom exhaust from stock headers to my Eisenmann race axle back exhuast.
I have added Bilstein struts and shocks with h&r springs lowered little over an inch. Stop tech street warrior z27 brake kit front and rear. 19" rotiforms with Michelin Pilot sport 4s tires.
I really want the stage 3 intake and AA headers. then upgrade my tune engine and transmission.
nice mods man.
That sounds awesome. The 3 stage manifold and the headers will definitely complete it 👌🏼
You can definetly feel 12 hp , i might buy a 328 since i lost my 335i n54 fully modded twin turbo car. Need a daily car for now, i think im going with the injen short ram CAI , temperature shouldnt be an issue on this motor AT ALL. I ran open dual cone intakes on my racecar and got huge gains. Pod filter is the way to go.
The 3-stage intake also comes off the 328i with the N51 engine. You don’t need to get a 325i or 330i intake🗿
The Bimmerlabs 3 stage tune is free, and does everything the AA tune does (except random limp modes). :)
definitely go for down pipes it will transform the car and keep the oem for licensing.
Love my E86 Z4 with N52B it puts out 261hp no mods all I'm going to do is resonator delete and maybe 2nd cats too since I'm going to drop whole pipe
Its actually 50BHP for 3 stage intake but once you get a tune on top of tune its more 60BHP for 3 stage intake.
Then of you do resonator removal, secondary decat k&n air filter and obtain booster with 99 octaine you be l9oking at 290BHP or 280ish BHP on standard fuel
Hey man how much was the tune I just ordered my stage 3 just wanna know how everything went thanks hope to hear from you back
The tune is $465. What exactly do want to know about how everything went?
bimmerlabs have free 330i tunes
Yo why you looking at me like that giving me this mod list 😂
Why cold air intake with no turbo? I wouldnt think it adds anything much.
Does sound good tho, (my comment will be long cause im typing while watching.)
Pedal tuner? Hmm. Ok.
3stage manifold may not be bad but its sounding pricey, couldnt you go to a scrap yard and find a 335 and just take the intercooler and pipes, turbo and manifold? Figured that would be reasonably cheap HP.
Tune is A+
Aiight not bad i gotta find recent vids on this thing lol
Good vid, thanks for the info
bro is literally at my university parking lot
Hah good observation
bro i got this exact car same year and everything. I got like a month ago as my first car.
I got an 07 E90 328i I’ve had about 6 years now and it’s a great car. I’m just now deciding to put some mods on
William Amaya what mods are you planning to put on ?
Ayee. I’ve came across very people with my exact same E90! Have you started modding yours yet?
HallenBMW nothing performance wise but i wrapped the interior with carbon fiber and changed dome lights to blue leds and i just bought some new headlights because the ones I have now are foggy and i just wanted a new look to the car. I do intend to do either a muffler delete or resonator delete what do you think is better ?
@@Bryan-gj2jk i might be doing muffler and resonator delete in a week
The 3 stage manifold scares me because if parts of the disa flaps break off it can apparently destroy your engine... just the stress alone would have me avoiding that for the 20 or so HP...
That can happen, but from what I've seen that only happens to valves that have been through 100k miles of driving. If you buy a used manifold and buy brand new disa valves that shouldn't be a worry till way down the road in the future.
@@InlineSixAuto thanks. I did think about that, but I checked and new OEM disas are like $500 each, so it would hurt financially. Still might go ahead and do it tho. Thanks again man.
@@ethersecure2432 you can actually find them for a lot cheaper. I got both my valves brand new for $189. I know it sounds extremely cheap and too good to be true, but I haven't had any problems with them since I've installed them so far which was only earlier this year in March though. But I'll have to really see as time goes on.
Nice video, I have a 2011 328i e90 xdrive, I see you have air intake scoops and was debating on purchasing them, are they more for looks or have you noticed anything performance wise?
Thomas Lopez Id say they’re more for looks. Pretty sure they don’t any noticeable power.
I have them and it maybe might feel alittle zipper on the highway since the cold air intake wont get heat soaked
Eh I’d avoid the CAIs period. Drop in air filters work better and cost way less money. A 3 stage intake manifold or the one from the 335i plus headers and exhaust from Active Autowerks with a tune gets 240-260 wheel horsepower.
What was the intro beat? That was fire!
Sounds great did you get your coilovers?
I have an E60 528i and seeing that both engines on the 328i and 528i are similar, I wonder if I can do similar mods.
Im pretty sure any BMW with the "28i" designation from that era came with the N52 engine. The 128i, 328i, and 528i all had the same engine. The mods that will give the most power are the 3 stage intake manifold, tho you will need a dyno tune or a reflash for a 530i tune. Catless headers and a secondary cat delete will give big gains, but will require a tune. Deleting just the secondary cats can show about 8-10 hp without a tune. Hes basically done everything you can do to the N52, it really doesnt like boost so a turbo or supercharger isnt really an option because the block is made of magnesium i believe and it starts to crack around 320 or so horsepower without bracing.
Bro taking forever to talk
the dayglo green must add at least 10whp
Only added 5whp 😢
Beautiful car though
What is mod still work on my 2006 BMW Z4N52
I just put a x5 3.0 in 325i mine it dropped in trans and everything. I did have to get my car tuned because the idle was off.
Nice e90 ! I’m in Cali also I’m thinking about doing the resonator and cat delete. Did that affect you passing smog ?
You should be able to pass smog with a muffler and resonator delete. I passed with a muffler delete which is what I had at the time. I don’t have a cat delete but based of what I read, technically you won’t pass smog with a cat delete in Cali but I know people who have passed with a cat delete so It depends on the smog station you take it too and if they care or not. Or if you know a smog technician personally and could just pass you.
Bmws pick up little to no power out of an intake, they already get cold air
Adam Zeller depends on the engine and where you live the n51 engine is really restricted so you can pick up an additional “16” with a tune quotes on the 16 but from what ive seen from dyno sheets its pretty accurate
@@Xboxblowz And without the tune nothing. BMW intakes are not restricted for stock and mildly modded applications.
@@Xboxblowz no it’s not accurate lol I’ve raced other N51s with a cold air intake with my stock air box with a k&n drop in filter the intakes makes no difference
@@xshadowspy its minimal difference in a race especially after you put in a kn drop in filter your not gapping people with 10 extra hp 😂 i get that but the numbers are there
@@colemanducharme4453 did i say that? i did say your not going to gap anyone with 10 hp but that speaking in general no matter what car you have
I was wondering, your car didnt include the stage 3 intake manifold? Because my sister has a 2012 128i and it included it. It also had the SULEV Warranty.
Nah mine just came with the 1 stage manifold. Mine isn’t the SULEV.
I live in Cali so I can’t get the headers cause it’s not gonna pass the smog check I also have my car as a daily
Should have gone with stage FP for a tune ;) way better than AA.
Im new to this,so if you could point me in the right direction would be appreciated. I'm going to put the stage 3 intake on and wat kind of tune would be good with out killing my pocket and does this have anything to do with the transmission being tuned?
Your 328 has a N53 engine mate. N52 were for 325i and 330i pre facelift.
Pretty sure I have the n52. The n53 wasn’t available in the US.
@@InlineSixAuto ye just looked it up, north america and south africa got a n52 328i version. Rest of the world didnt.
Hey bro I'm tryna get the same intake manifold, how do I yell which one is right on ebay? Is there anyway I can text you a pic?
You can message me on Instagram! @e90hallenb
Hey bro, I appreciate the e90 enthusiasm. But bro, your dollar to power ratio sound really bad
Fully aware it’s not good at all 😂. But still had fun with process and learned quite a bit.
hey this is candy red lacquer
I need help on my bmw 328i 2012 Xdrive
Where you get front lip?
i got e92 328 with N51 engine, comes with 3 stage manifold, i have afe magnum cold intake, magnaflow catback exhaust, full cat delete and doing catless headers in month, what yall think with custom ecu tune i will get ? looking for 270 hp at crank
I’m super late but how much did the Muffler+the resonator delete cost? I’m trying to do the same to mine
Hey do you mind updating the links all the avant ones don’t work 🙏🏾
Should be updated. Lmk if they work
If power is what you are after get one of the turbo cars, my 335d makes almost double your horsepower to the wheels and I only have 2000 in emissions deletes and tuning
Having a tune does not violate smog rules? Where did you get the tune done?
I haven’t had any issues with smog so I’m assuming not. I got it installed at OceansideMotorsports
Can u do a 0-100km/h seconds for pedal box tuner? As I see it will increase the 0-100km/h performance
The pedal tuner doesn’t make the car faster. It just increases the sensitivity of the pedal so you don’t have to press down that far for it to take off. All it really does is make the car much more fun to drive, in my opinion.
I drove a 535i wagon 2010 it was fast I wanted it i settled with a 2012 e92 328i still pretty quick but nothing like the wagon I can only imagine a 335i coupe
You should drive a 135 and see what you think lol
You drunk... should got the 535🤦🏾♂️
2 rules; Never throw a bong kid, neva... Also never boost a car without getting the dyno tuning done.... Tuning is essentially letting the cars brain catch up and compensate for your cars newer, bigger muscles
Hey how does the software in the link you sent work? Is it the entire ecu that plugs in or is it just software you install through the obd2 port
You can either install it through the Obd2 port using your computer, you can see if there a shop in your area that can install it for you, or you can send your ECU to Active Autowerke and they’ll install it for you and then they’ll send your ECU back to you. They have a page with more details on their website to get more specific details on how to install it.
There are no performance mods for the n52 lol🤷
Most people who have an n52, didn’t buy to it to add performance mods and go fast. It isn’t until after they buy it till they discover modding and what not. So we can’t “just buy a 335i” we work with what we got. But if I had known prior to buying the 328i, I and most others probably would have got the n54 lol.
I just got a 2010 328i xdrive, i want to mod it but I'm scared itll be a waste when it blows up at 100k miles =(
Pretty sure it won’t blow at 100k lol. But still I honestly don’t believe it’s worth modding a 328i unless you go full turbo charger.
Hi. I love your build and I am kind on the budget side too. I have been looking everywhere for a cold air intake for my N52 528I they're just not many options. Any idea where to look? I was going to ask since we have the same engine but the intake looks different in stock form so the intake in video may not fit mines??
Yeah I think the air intake setup is bit different on the 5 series N52. I don't think this will fit yours. I'm honestly not sure, if you've already been looking online everywhere. Have you checked any of those forum discussion posts for all BMW owners maybe you could find somebody who's found one
@@InlineSixAuto thanks for replying. I did check and just found 2 that are releasing next month from AFE. They are the open kind. Maybe I give a try and preorder one.
Is it automatic?
The tune was insane expensive.
An experienced mechanic will do the tune in 30 min for about 200.
But what to do..
In Europe we have different people, different prices, different incomes 😂too
I have a 2006 325i would these mods work . It’s the same 3.0 ..... what year can I get the stage 3 manifold for ?
I believe these all would work on your 325i. The 3 stage manifold was only on the 2006 330i and it could be put on your 325i or a 328i that isn’t SULEV.
Thank you man time to start investing
Is it worth it to buy a 328i e92
How much hp does yours makes
Mine probably makes around 260hp to the crank with these mods. If you’re looking for a lot of hp and tuning potential, don’t get a 328i. Get a 335i if you want a lot of horsepower. However, if you want reliability and don’t want to go broke spending money on maintenance, definitely get a 328i.
@@InlineSixAuto this comment didn't age well lol 190 HP to the wheels at the dyno right?
@@camposjesus3725 you could say that lol. There's plenty of people who achieved 260 though, it may just be my car or the dyno was off.
Not sure if you will respond, but i'm looking into buying a E90 328i (2009-2011). Since you owned a 328i in the past, are these cars affordable to maintain? I can DIY everything, but i don't want this car to be a financial headache especially being a college student that might have to pay for student loans. I will appreciate an answer.
Thanks.
If you find one that one that has been taken care that shows in some sort of car fax report of and has good pre purchase inspection, they aren’t really a headache at all. The 2009-2011 328i’s tend be more reliable than the 2006-2008. But it will cost more to do basic maintenance things. I have a video on my channel where I talk about how much I’ve spent on maintenance and what I’ve replaced on my 328i over my last two years of ownership, if you want to get an idea how much things cost for it 👍
@@InlineSixAuto Thanks for the reply! I will probably finance one next year since i also want to build credit.
Doesn’t the california 328i (SULEV) come factory with a three stage?
Yes
Why are you recommending the cold air intake mod when you say it didn't add anything?
It wasn’t really a recommendation, it was more me just stating it as one of the performance “mods” I have since that is what the purpose of the video is. I was just saying it is something you could add if you want to spice up your engine bay or have a cooler sound.
Have you ever had any issues with the BMS pedal tuner??
Never
Where did you buy that engine cover?
It is my original engine cover that came with the car. I just painted it.
Damn! She's pretty! If you had to sell. What ~ price?
Nice mods or whatever
what do u search for the intake manifold? need to find one im not spending money on that kit
I have link to it in the description.
Sorry I misread your comment, you’d have to just search around online for “used 3 stage intake manifold”
How long did it take for the shop install the tune from Aa??
It took like an hour if i remember correctly
Nice to know, I appreciate the reply! Debating on either Aa’s tune or sfp’s tune which I hear are both pretty good. Also love the content! Nice rides brotha
Just came here to ask: beautiful maroon/red with green accents?! I'm late on art!!!!!
What’s your 0-60 after all the mods lol?
3 business days
@@InlineSixAuto 🤣 😂 😭 😢
Would a intake manifold for a n52 fit on a n51
n51 and n52 are the same motor. n51 is just the SULEV version (stands for super ultra low emissions vehicle or some shit)
For the open CAI just buy a heat shield
Will the AA tune work with a pedal tuner like BMS or sprint booster?
Yes it can still work
What headlights are those?
I can’t really know, does it burble ?
It does if you do a muffler and resonator delete
@@InlineSixAuto, when you swapped the intake manifold, did you put a maf sensor and if you did how many did you have to put, I got so happy when I found your page, you literally did the same mods that I want to make.
Hey man just wondering which shop did you get the car tuned with the AA performance tune, i have a 325i and im looking to do the same thing
Are you in North San Diego county?
@@InlineSixAuto im still in cali so id be able to make the trip because honestly im not sure where else theyd be able to do it
It’s a place called Oceanside Motorsports in Oceanside, CA.
How do you guys even pass the smog test with that mod
Which mod
Anyone do a muffler delete in ny area and pass inspection or is it not that bad ?
Can you pass smog the way your car is right now
Yes Ive passed twice now with all of these
I appreciate you bro
Hey men , you said you live in cali
Those that intake is gonna give u any ingine light or problems with the smog ?
It shouldn’t give you any error codes and this aFe intake I have is CARB approved so you will pass smog. I got my car smogged with the intake and I passed.
@@InlineSixAuto so after all of this mods you're able to smong it?
Well I smogged it before I got the 3 stage intake manifold and the AA tune. But I had the intake when I got it the smog and passed. But I’m pretty sure it would still pass smog with all of them installed.
Does the BMS pedal tuner works for manual e92 also?
Yep
I got the same one but I have a pcx one is there any difference to the one you have
are you referring to the intake?
If u were to add headers and an exhaust you’d have over 300 hp huh?
Id be probably be around 290-300hp.
where did u get those carbon fiber interior trims
I got them from Amazon. I did a different video where I talk about them and link where I got them in the description
Could you get that steering wheel switched to one of those in my 2008 328 I??
I think you could switch to an M sport steering wheel. But without paddle shifters.
@@InlineSixAuto well that’s no fun . But I guess it still would looks better than tha fat stocky one they gave me . Thanks man
Bruh, have you done suspension jobs yet?
I’ve installed coilovers on both my BMWs if that’s what you’re asking.
What exhaust do u have?
In this video its just a muffler delete
How well would these mods work with a 2007 328i
These would work just fine for that year as well. The results would be the same s mine. Maybe even better if yours isn’t AWD
Guys I have a bmw 2014 328i and I want to make it faster. Where can I start ?!?! 😩😩 someone have any ideas??
