I made one of these about 10 yrs ago when I first saw it online. I had to put a metal sheet in the back behind the electrical putty. My Airforce Condor .25 went thru a 3in layer of the putty and out the back of 1in particle board. I still use it today. My target is 3ftx3ft and weighs 70lbs. Cost of 30.00 was for the Electrical putty. I had the wood already. Moving it is the biggest chore, so I keep it on a dolly. I love how I can keep track all the lead pellets and that it is quieter shooting my High-Powered PCPs. If you shoot allot make sure to retamp the putty regularly and don't shoot in the same spot repeatedly because it bores a hole in the putty to the back and out of the target.
Those wraps are hard to get off the plumber puddy. Ive been making them 18" x 12" framed out and supper glue a clipboard clip to the top for my targets. After a year you can flip the putty over if needed. I shoot well over 1000 rounds a month into the plumber puddy. Also it can be made more pliable by a teaspoon or 2 of vegetable oil.
I made equivalent to this except 3x larger and on wheels with a built-in clip board on the back for extra paper targets sheets and a webcam on lighted swing arm for watching poi on my phone. All 3/4" plywood with an extra steel panel sandwiched into the back with 3" deep of putty up front. I've used it for approx 10 years now, and nothing gets through it. I've shot up to .68cal at 30' no problem. Best air target design ever. The putty is from homedepot. Occasionally, I scrape out the stuck ammo and smooth the putty over. My box is deep enough, so if ammo doesn't stick, it falls down into the trap and I suck all loose ammo out with vacuum. This air venturi model seems priced right if not into DYI. I have an even larger DYI version using several layers of blankets for large .50-.68 cal conical ammo used in LTL guns and 3/8-1/2" slingshot balls.
I use it in the basement at about 15 feet and only for air pistols and low-velocity Daisy rifles. If you leave the target standing upright between sessions, over time the putty will thin out at the top and thicken at the bottom. I’m going to replace the “duct seal” (you’re right, that’s what it is) and leave it lying on its back after shooting from now on. Enjoy your channel very much.
The duct seal works well to stop the noise. Even for some people shooting outdoors that don't want to annoy their neighbors or just try and keep a low profile. People won't complain if they don't know.
I use something similar to that setup for my bait station inside my shop. (diy airgun bait station ) And it stops pellets and slugs from my FX streamline. Keep up the good work.
I still have the original Beaman silent pellet trap that I bought early 90s. Still going strong with original putty. Not as large as yours. I guess size doesn't matter just how you use it lol.
Gotta use that good old Kentucky windage… I have built all kinds of things like this and they work. I have accidentally dry fired some PCP rifles in my house but other than that I don’t shoot inside. My zero is at 25 yards so if I cut the distance to shoot inside I’m gonna go way high and probably miss the whole box. Sometimes in bad weather I want to shoot inside but I have never actually tried it. It scares me…
Dad gum auto safety! Hey now, Riddick. You relly kneaded that target. A tip for Dirt-poor Air-gunners: find a drawer out of roadside furniture! Gotta love free.😁👌
I've looked at those in the past and thought that'd be neat and then the price kind of turned me away and then I started thinking well if I miss any times I'll hit the edges of that box it could get destroyed
One more thing try to get UX MARKPOINT it’s budget friendly and it’s huge break barrel pistol Mark IV looks like a baby in comparison 😂😂😂 only.177 lead but you get pa ting, heavy trigger but it got better.Barrel is long as my foot size 45.
Not about the trap. The Ruger MarkIV is the worst trigger umarex has done. I took it apart and stoned, honed and polish all of the mating surfaces. Much better. Still a bad design. The Browning Buckmark cousin has a much differnt trigger design and it's not to bad, and it has a pic rail to mount a red-dot. I have a 10 meter in my basement and just use the champion rimfire trap. Nice pa-ting every shot.

Nice studio brother 👍
Hey Man . Congratulations on the Channels Growth !!!!!!
Thanks Joe! 🍻

When shooting bulleyse targets it works better witha piece of cardboard behind the target. Thanks for nice review!
brilliant for indoor, very quiet gun too i thought, cheers MINT".

Great taste in guitar gear as well!
That’s for indoor shoots but outdoor just get sand bag, mostly free ❤
Nice pellet trap! Great video!

Are you kneading or just wanting?
🤣

Love the background

Cool 😎
Cool..now you can get some shootin in.
But I enjoy the 15M / 16 yds 1"- 2" - 3" Wind Chimes set up in Suburbia . Wooded & fenced in & when the Magnums come out, so does the lawnmower .
Heck yea! First!
If you hang the trap .so it can swing o bit it will handle more p

It's a pretty tough box, but could definitely get chewed up if any fliers catch the edge.
Good concept but although it is not the intention to shoot at it, it would be better if the edges of the box were protected with some kind of steel.
Then it has a greater chance to ricochet. I’ve got one made of steel and that’s exactly what happens.
@User3eighty4 Don't get me wrong, but that's why I always try to wear shooting glasses.
@ I just don’t want lead flying around my garage for my toddlers to eat.
Our British friends have 12 ft-lbs .25s....

Already one step ahead of you man, the video is coming soon 🍻

Hafta get me the new gamo vapor pump gun 80.00
I think the only minor thing it needs is metal on the edges of the box.
