Diego has arrived! 🐻
After a long journey from Sweden, Diego has arrived at Wildwood Devon, where he can finally settle into his winter home under the expert care of our animal keepers.
Diego’s story is one of hope, strength and unwavering commitment between Wildwood Devon and Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park to save the life of a bear whose time was running out. As the sole surviving bear at Orsa Predator Park, Diego was in serious danger of being euthanised unless he could urgently find a home.
Diego will be staying at Wildwood until the spring, whilst his forever home is being prepped at Jimmy’s Farm. Wildwood Trust has an incredible reputation for its work with European Brown Bears and was delighted to step in and accommodate Diego, who has already earned a reputation amongst Wildwood’s keepers as a gentle giant.
Diego’s journey isn’t over yet and there is still a lot of work that needs to be done to give him the best possible quality of life.
