I think this format where you do the before and after is brilliant. The project cars are always a great addition to the channel and much better when you do the whole story in one video.
Thanks! I think it worked better too but it’s a lot more work. I’ll try and keep doing this in future
A good story is never rushed.
@@HighPeakAutos Just bear in mind you lose some of the detail when you squeeze everything into one video. Sometimes the whole story is what we want to see. I wish I had bought my X5 off you I have lots of little annoying issues that the dealer should have taken care of before he sold it to me.

I'm amazed at the prices he's able to get things done. That's quality work for a reasonable price. When he quoted the price to redo the wheels, I was floored. Locally that would cost me at least twice the price. I suppose he's getting a dealer discount because of the business he's bringing.

Awesome video Matt!! Last fall I bought my first Rover (2012 L322 SC) and you are completely correct on all cylinders, this car is absolutely amazing! Good thing your mechanic replaced your rear shocks with the electronic versions. That's for the Vehicle Dynamic System (VDS) which analyzes accelerometers and sensors all over the vehicle to adjust the firmness of the ride based on your conditions. In short talk, it helps prevent rollovers and out of control conditions, which saves lives too! Keep up the great work and entertaining commentary.

For me there is no other Motorists RUclips(r) channel presenter as accomplished at making us subscribers / viewers feel like we’re in the passenger seat. Feels like a Sunday morning chat. Also delivered with the straightest of straight bats (cricketing analogy for those who don’t rub their balls on their trousers)…. Another perfectly judged, informative video Matt!
Love this mate! I've sold cars for Audi for years and this is by far the most honest and transparent view of used vehicle prep and how much even a good car costs to prep... keep up the great work!

Just love these. Had my 2011 L322 for 2.5 years now and just can’t get rid of it, (Longest I’ve ever had a car ). Always fully serviced it mechanically but mine needs a few cosmetic TLC touches to it now, Rear tailgate, interior spruce up etc. other than that - unbeatable.
I wish all traders were as passionate and particular about prepping a car as you are. Very lucky buyer who gets your cars. One trader just threw a fake old oil filter box in the car and thought I’d be convinced by the ‘evidence’ that he’d serviced it. It did not. Wasn’t even the correct oil filter for this car. Some just don’t care! Others like you live and breathe quality service. :)

A bit unrelated question, but since you are in this industry - what are your thoughts on current bubble of used car prices? Old bangers for few years ago now cost more than few years ago even with more mileage. It's crazy, you can't even buy anything driveable under 1000 pounds.
I'm new to following your channel and this form of video is great (before and after). There's a lot of vids that seem to be what you want to do with the car but seeing the end result is so much better! Top detailing job on this one too!

Thanks for sharing. As it happens I’ve just bought a 2012 Westminster in Santorini Black with Ivory interior. It’s lovely, needs a few things sorted. Followed the same advice from your other video so we can accommodate some preventative maintenance. . . The 4.4TDV8 is awesome.

Great work Matt! Yet again, another fantastic video. Your subscribers must be climbing well now, and it’s very well earnt. I really like the way you put forward the whole story. I wish more dealers were as straight as you. Having just bought a c class 2012. I got no more than 200yds up the road and it’s back on a lorry to them. Whole list of things at fault. Live and learn eh.

I don’t know how you get all that work done so cheaply - you must have a special deal going with your mechanics.
A gearbox service on an Audi A6 just cost me over £600 at our local specialist gearbox place.
I do like the analogue clock, so much easier to read.
I love your RR videos.. Any of them. This one is great..realistic and true to life. Proper job you have done on that motor to give it many more years of life, for not a massive amount of profit... how important is that gearbox service! So many leave it. Nice to see the care you go to with your cars before sale. I may come to you for my next car as I'm not too far away.

Stumbled on your channel when I was looking for an X5 E70 and your review and style is fantastic! @@rosskeeley8587 don’t bother matey it will cost you money and fall to bits , I tried to warn a friend of mine last year but he purchased the 2012 diesel sport … long story short he payed £12,995 spent nearly 3k on it and sold last month 9k , I had the L322 V8 diesel around six years ago and lost 8k in two years without parts and labour , great cars to drive though but awful to own

I have a l322 (05) and I’ve spent loads on her but I love it, the 3ltr vogue is a very good engine strong and quiet at 125000 miles she runs very good, keep the videos coming as they are a great watch 👍

Terrific video Matt. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Now I've seen what can be achieved I might change my plan for another motor. You said in an earlier video "just buy the car you want". So I might just do that and fettle it up. I've always fancied something in the V70 range, the XC looks the business. I might look for the right one of them and do a project like this. I blame thee🤣 have you ever thought of trying to persuade people to buy cars? What happened to the V70 and the V40 estate...are you 'projecting' them? I'll have a few raffle tickets if you do. 😉

Great video again! L332 all the way! I was wondering if one time you could do the same thing for an older Range Rover? My budget is going to be around £6k give or take (excluding repairs). I know it's going to be an older car with more risks but that's my budget so...
I love this format. I always liked watching the likes of Wheeler Dealers and the early days of Gas Monkey Garage. What did you buy, what did you do, what did you spend, and what profit was made. Would love to mess with a project car some day, but never have time these days with my own channel eating up every spare minute I have. Keep up the good work as always 😉
Love your channel, you are always straight and honest. I know it is just my opinion but everyone has one ! Check the frame for slight corrosion.

It would be interesting to know how many hours Matt put in to get all the jobs done, including delivering the vehicle to different workshops, and collecting it. This might be realistically added to the final cost by way of providing the full picture of the project, relative to the profit.

My next door neighbour bought a 2012 RR just like this, as his 'I've always wanted one' car. It's an event just watching it arrive, it even sounds good (for a diesel). I couldn't afford to buy or run one, but at the money this looks like great value. I liked the before & after presentation too 👍
