I visited Griffin, Georgia the end of May 2023. I like the rural area. I looked at the 55-plus community called Sun City Peachtree. I looked at their model homes and liked two of the models. This community has so many activities and so much to do. It's resort-style living. I will return within a few months to explore more and decide if I want to buy.
Not sure if it’s truly “rural”, it’s less than an hour in between Atlanta and Macon, it’s suburban, exurban and semi rural, Georgia is an urban suburban state, with some rural areas according to current census surveys.
I have a business here and I absolutely LOVE this town! It’s a great place for business, affordable and the food is delicious! It’s a shame you didn’t see more of the downtown area though! Thanks for putting Griffin out there. It’s was needed!
Thank you. I'm relocating to Griffin to teach. I'm going through a staffing company so I haven't decided to buy, un fact, I've never been to the city itself. I was planning on renting . This was a great introduction to give a feel for the place and to see it through someone's instead of the pictures only that I've seen
Don't move there I lived there, and it is so out of date. And Georgia power is not a part of griffin so you will have to turn your light on with them. The city does not allow you to make payment arrangements on your light bill if you don't pay the balance in full, they will cut your lights off. The main grocery store is Kroger's, Food Depot, Walmart oh and Aldi there is no Target unless you drive to Fayetteville or McDonough. I think there is only one CVS also. There is one hospital it's ok, I guess. And it's about the same rent as Jonesboro now. If you move there you will be driving out a lot just to eat or shop. But if you don't mind a dead city by all means. Oh, and the back roads at night are creepy as hell no lights if you're coming from McDonough ext. 216. But if your taking Tara into griffin at night you're ok up until you pass the Atlanta Motor Speedway no lights until you get to griffin. From Jonesboro it a 30min drive. Oh yeah soon as you come into griffin from Tara slow down on Experiment St it's 30mph and police will be waiting to hand you a ticket. They did just build a Chipotle lol and one thing I noticed was there's a lot of couches on the front porches of houses and when you drive by locals just stare no waves just stare. The schools are not great it's really nothing there.
Moved there in 2015. I like the fact that I was closer to Atlanta. But as time went on the crime got worse. Even when I thought I was moving into a better neighborhood, I would hear gunshots every few weeks. One day I literally came home to my apartment and saw a teenager laying out on the ground from being shot. That was queue to go. But other than that it's ok small town living. Nice barber shops and hair salons, bakeries, price of rent went up a lot as well. I did love wyomia tyus Park
Fiancé and I are considering moving here. Thanks for a great informative video. We moved from Aurora CO to FL. We now live in Brooksville FL and it’s horrid. The entitlement in FL… I just can’t. Also lol I’m 4’11 and am shocked at how fast you are moving down these streets! That paste would be a jog for me. 🚶🏾♂️
Well done! I was born in Griffin and now live in "The Bottom" (i.e., southern FL). I've been away from Griffin for so long that I don't know if I could readjust to life there, so if I ever were to relocate it probably would be to a locale in Central Florida or or to a coastal Georgia city such as Brunswick or Savannah. Ever forward!

Hello my Brother. Thanks for showing us Down Town Griffin. Can you show the other Shopping places that are apart of the convinces residents of Griffin enjoy. Box Stores like: Walmart, Krogers, Ross, BIG LOTS, Marshalls, Longhorn Steak House.
Also. Can you Show your Viewers these places: Lowes, Home Depot, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, Walgreens ect. Which are also in Griffin? Maybe go to "North Griffin Square"? My Wife and I live in another state and want to. know more about this "Up and Coming City and its surrounding Communities". We are subscribers to your Channel. Again Thank You.
@@fernandothomas432 there really is nothing more in Griffin than was shown. And things are hard to find here. Due to you have people from Butts, Lamar, Pike Counties, ALL coming to Griffin especially Walmart to do their shopping.
Grew up here and love it! Sadly there are some areas I steer clear of now, but overall I've always felt safe here. The shadiest robbers around here are our Commissioners and school board sticking it to us with property taxes and our schools continue to decline.
I grew up in Griffin over two decades ago. The city was clean and taken care of. I just recently visited and what I saw was heartbreaking. It’s turned into a ghetto mess. All the trash from Atlanta has migrated south and destroyed a nice, small, historic town. Sadly, I’ll never go back.
I moved to Griffin in April 2022 I purchased my home here I love Griffin. It is definitely…..Very different than what I’m use to be it I was rise Southern California. I wanted a place where could relax, have some land become a foster parent and just chill rest of my life.I Love my home, the areas around are very sketchy I am very seldom out after dark. So if troubles finds me I’m licensed to carry and no fear of exercising my right 👀 👀👀
I was a foster child in Griffin for many years. Its difficult being a foster kid, being moved from home to home every few months, always having to readjust to new people who mostly never try to get to know you or care for you in any intimate way. I deeply appreciate all of the foster parents who took me in and cared for me the best that they knew how. I reached out to the one that I could remember the name of years later but they were not willing to be in contact with me. I wanted to thank them for offering me a home when I needed one. I really appreciate you doing what you can for kids who are surviving abuse and extreme neglect.
What about the area around Poplar Avenue? Overall would you say McDonough is a better choice in regard to safety, things to do and modernization ? Great video and tfs
Hi I am thinking coming to griffin for an event next year in 2023 for a few days how safe would you say it would be for a single white to women to be there and how is the transportation without a car any advice would be helpful thank you .
Griffin is a very safe place IMO. The main problem is poverty and drugs. But even with that..it's pretty safe believe it or not...I give Griffin props for this. Despite all the issues..most Griffin people are pretty decent. Now we have crazy stories now and then like a preacher locking up people in his basement..but I promise that is something I would have never thought would happen because most of the people are decent. So that goes to show you the craziest people in griffin are the ones that have some money lol. Joking.
I have no idea. You’ll need to lean heavily on the reviews left by previous residents and definitely visit the community first and feel around. Talking to the resident would be helpful to if you can catch some outside.
Not sure if you ever moved but if you have teens I wouldn't move there as they would have bad Influences. I wish most places were more affordable like that tho

I have heard that people in GA don't like white people or Republicans. I really hope that is not the case because my husband and I grew up in the West and we literally don't care what color someone's skin is or political values. We judge character and kindness.
