Naw they just need to keep finding actual sample producers not just people that drag and drop loops to build drums on. Picking the sample and chopping it is a skill. Going through sample packs created by other people isn’t as technical. There are plenty of producers still cutting up but they probably don’t pump out as much as fast so they don’t move the needle for companies in music like Mass Appeal so the return on investment isn’t worth it for them to “introduce” newer producers

For the most part, DJs end up using one beat off one album - drowning that beat in drum machine effects - making the premise of the show pointless. @massappeal should consider making the rules more challenging and stipulate that the DJ use at least one beat from each selection - with no mixing effects. That will separate proper DJs from charlatans.
