Naw they just need to keep finding actual sample producers not just people that drag and drop loops to build drums on. Picking the sample and chopping it is a skill. Going through sample packs created by other people isn’t as technical. There are plenty of producers still cutting up but they probably don’t pump out as much as fast so they don’t move the needle for companies in music like Mass Appeal so the return on investment isn’t worth it for them to “introduce” newer producers

I think that's on Cash. There's a certain way FL Studio has to be setup when recording from vinyl or it will playback all distorted sounding. Took me a while to figure it out and it seems like Cash just isn't used to using vinyl.

This method will actually have the opposite effect causing people to not tune it. Sampling records is an art form and a hiphop tradition. The fact is alot of these young trap producers are just not qualified for the task.
I feel like Timbaland misunderstood what his ep was. People wanted to give him his flowers and celebrate his beats but he approached it like he had nothing to prove so just did something easy instead. The beat didn't have to be crazy but the process and inherent genius wasn't on display at all.
This was easily the worst RR i've ever seen. It was so bad that they didn't even play the song at the end. They replayed the instrumental they used to introduce him in the beginning...not to mention, the last 20 seconds of a black screen. This was AWFUL and WAY WORSE than timbalands....

For the most part, DJs end up using one beat off one album - drowning that beat in drum machine effects - making the premise of the show pointless. @massappeal should consider making the rules more challenging and stipulate that the DJ use at least one beat from each selection - with no mixing effects. That will separate proper DJs from charlatans.
