You are the man! I'm now a C30 cabin air filter warrior! Now to crack a beer after this back breaking successful feat. Cheers!

Very helpful. I have the V50, just changed the engine air filter. Much easier than this. Will tackle this next.

This is the easy one the older ones are a real PITA. On the older ones (without the wing bolt) I remove the drivers seat and lay on my back to do it. I do this because there is one bolt that holds on the cover that’s next to impossible to see or get out without using my suggestion. With the seat out it’s way easier and you can see things better. Just have all your tools available so you don’t have to get in and out of the car to get them.
Sometimes what seems is the hard way is the easy way!

I had an older one and I removed the seat too. Only problem was that I didn't disconnect the battery and the car noticed that the seat was unplugged. So I had to drive around with the airbag warning on the dash after that.

The top right nut is really tough to get back on and tighten. I gave up trying to use a traditional socket universal joint adaptor. I remembered I had a flexible socket extension. It is like a tightly wound spring allowing more flexibility. I don’t know what it is called. Anyway, I got the nut back on and tight in less than a minute.

There is no need to remove the pedal mr .
You make it look so difficult
All you need to do is to remove the carpet to plastic screw and pull the carper under the pedal.

You do it the way you like, no problem there

Clean the inside before you put the filter in. Lots of debris and stuff

@@TheVolvoGuy its a good video, I used It a few weeks ago to replace the filter in my s40, really useful. I have a problem with my car, is a 2.0 diesel 136 CV ( french PSA engine). When its cold and you start it, the engine dont run smooth and there is White smoke. I replaced the glow plugs and It started to be a little bit better but still shaking until its 90°C. What do you think? Thanks in advance.
