- My Japanese Crow Friend “Kah”
Many people are commenting that this a raven without reading the description here first... Please try to read or simply have a look at the description on videos before commenting. It gets really sad to see so many people ignore the details on why this is called a crow rather than a raven. Nearly 4 years later and people are still commenting before reading first…
This video was shot in Japan. There are two major types of crows in Japan, the "hashibuto-garasu" or Jungle crow, and the "hashiboso-garasu" or the Carrion crow. To me, it's a little difficult to tell the two apart, but I believe the latter has a slightly larger body.
I used to have a friend crow named "Kah" come and visit me every day when I came home around the same time, but there were usually two that would come to visit, so it's difficult to know who is who. Generally, I call all of them "Kah" as a joke.

He's so talkative, goodness. I know they crow a lot all day but it's like he's telling you about his entire week. 😂
It's a Large-Billed Crow not a Raven, they're found across eastern Asia so most people who don't live there will probably get this wrong.
I have 30yrs experience in the avian field. Having "hands on" experience with everything from Warblers to Birds of Prey and Budgies to Macaws. And i can tell you that this folks is a Jungle Crow they are prevalent throughout Asia especially Japan where they are considered a nuisance. However, "Corvids" which comprise of; Ravens, Crows, Rooks, Jackdaws, Magpies, Jays, and Nutcrackers are one of my favorite species. Simply because of there sheer intelligence. They can figure out complex puzzles and even learn to talk as clear as any parrot can sometimes even better. I think this is really neat how this Jungle Crow befriended this individual. And as you can clearly hear they have a specific vocalization for how they are feeling. I think it's great how people learn more about this marvelous birds as they've been painted in a VERY poor light in terms of representing evil and the like. On the contrary they are HIGHLY sociable creatures with a complex yet strong family bond towards each other and as a flock. They also help to clean our waste and alert other birds to signs of danger. They truly do have a special place in my heart. And i always love getting the chance to work with these beautiful birds.
They are my best buddies...My most favorite bird...they are very wild..
In Japan they symbolize alot of good things, they are messengers of the heavens and symbolize guidance as an old legend tells of a three legged crow guiding someone, also a three legged golden/red crow (it used to he ten crows) servers the sun goddess in Chinese myth
@@whatTFisThis Which is part of the reason why i love the Japanese culture so much...!!! They are steeped in the "mystical" and everything truly does have a purpose and meaning in that country.
Thank you for pointing out what ignorant, idiotic humans need to know about them. 👏Much appreciated.
it seems this crow is trying to have a chat with you.
If not definitely thanking him. Love it
That is an extremely complex language for an animal, this is the part about crows Im most interested in. You dont hear these sort of in close calls out in the streets, its just the loud signalling caws and haws.
I really like his little rumbles and barks(??) and chuffing noises, very cute crow friend
I know, right!? I've never heard a crow make that sound before. This video is pretty old now, and I haven't seen my crow friends for a long time... so it's really kinda sad...
That crow might start showing up now lol
Oh, don't worry. This isn't the first time I've seen them. They know me pretty well by now. xD This is actually Kah3. hahaha
Him: waw-ah waw-ah
Me: you want water my friend???
What a nice friend to have!
What an amazing bird. Compared to the corvids in Norway, this one resembles our ravens more than our crows.
i wish we had crows in Brazil, they're so cute. And to the people that are saying this is a raven, please note that there are more species of animals throughout the world and also read the description.
Relax, at least we have the vultures and caracaras😎😎 and also, we at least have some species of corvids here
Sei que estou dois anos atrasada, mas a Gralha é o nosso equivalente. Eles pertencem a mesma família dos corvos.
he sing a song !! said "so happy n arigatou my friend"
What a nice friend. Reminds me of pigeons at the bus station.
I wish I spoke crow. And after I learned crow I’d learn Japanese crow. He’s quite the charismatic gentleman
Thank you for posting this. Now I will have to study a bit to figure out the variety of crows that camp out on the power polls here if a morning. Something to look forward to!
Oh my god, he is so awesome!
Yeah!! I haven't seen either of my crow friends in several years, though... I'm worried they're not around any more. :(
I can tell this craw speaks japanese.
I honestly didnt see much of resemblance of crows in Goro Akechi from Perosna 5 except in once scene, now I really see it even some of the ways they move are similar, it also makes alot of sense to me now why Haikyuu's crows are so big!
omfg this is amazing thank you so much
Uh, this crow was literally saying water 👀
He seems unsure and calling to say hey um to close men
so cute
Thats soooo cute
BABY BOY LOVE SNACK
So cool
I knew this sounds only from old school Animes 😂😂
Crows don’t have a hook at the end of their beaks or that kind of beard fluff. Also it’s caw is shorter and deeper than a crow just like a raven. Cool friend either way.
Please read the description.
I'm pretty sure that's a Large-Billed Crow.
@@ReveredWizardBob Please read the description.
That crow is healthy, most crows here look like shit.
I speak crow but not Japanese crow 😔
one step closer to taming him and having a pet crow and be super awesome!
There are 3 of them that know me. 2 of them are a pair, I believe, then there's this guy. I really don't know for sure, but I think he's relatively young. He came with another larger crow that I haven't seen with him in a long time that actually mouth fed him the food that I gave them. haha It was really cute.
Crows are not pets. Not every living creature belongs to men and must be owned.
This is like a very cool and calm dream. Damn he's so cool ❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥💀🔥
Thank you! I really miss my crow friends… They stopped coming after my building had its annual renovation… :(
@@RekkaAlexiel That's a shame, construction work must have scared them away then? I hope they are doing fine
👌
❤❤❤❤❤❤
man that crow is so strange yet funny and where im from the crows in my area are just plain old boring.
rest in snake guts, Kah-san...
Ohh cmon itachi show yourself
I think it's a raven never seen Crows that big but I could be wrong. anyways I hope you and him have a great time together
Have you been to Japan? Did you read the description? I'd recommend that you check it out.
@@RekkaAlexiel oh i see sorry for that
🤣🤣😍😍😍🍰🍰
すごい どゆやってなかよくなりました‼️❓😅
教えてください
Ohhahh is food in crow languge
How tf did you get Kah to come to your balcony? I have no luck getting any attention
The lady who lives in the first apartment there next to the entrance was feeding him, I think. Then I started doing the same in front of my room, so he eventually got used to me. This was a long time ago now, so I haven’t seen Kah since… There were two new young crows that I saw perched near the other lady’s room the other day, so she might be feeding them again… I might try to get their attention with food or water the next time I see them. ;)
How did you manage to get to the point of him visiting regularly?
I think someone else was feeding him, so I saw him around the apt a few times. I got to feeding him over in the park for awhile, then I moved over to my front door. He just got used to watching for me to come home, so he’d fly down as I got to the door.
Great video! You're in Japan right?
Yup!
This might be a raven due to the sound it’s making and the size but I could be wrong
Please read the description.
Rekka Alexiel damn I feel dump but it looks like a raven
@@renegade1518 I get that a lot, as you can see. lol It's all good.
Are you Japanese ?
@@renegade1518 No. I've been living in Japan for 16 years, however.
Itachi
I think its a raven?
Please read the description before you post a comment.
@@RekkaAlexiel oh... i see² my bad
That’s not a crow that’s a raven
Please read the description.
I think that is a raven. Not a crow. They are so smart.
Thanks for your comment. I explained this in detail in the description.
