Aid workers in the 1980s were surprised to see that famine victims can be picky about what they eat. They sense that an upset stomach could be very serious for them, they don’t have the energy to be ill. So they tend to go for familiar foods.
That mare is a very well bred mare. Even in her current condition, it's easy to imagine how stunning she was in her younger years because she still is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to see when she reaches full health again.
Well done darling, improvement is notable. Give her 6 mths and she will be so much better, watching from Roleystone Western Australia. ❤ (get the muscle mass up, remember the heart is a muscle, what you see on the outside = a wasted heart. You are right to limit movement for now to protect the heart.)
Wow! She looks wonderful! I've been an Arabian enthusiast and owner for more than 60 years and she is truly a lovely horse. Her head is what Arabian people would call classic.. It's so nice that she now has other horses around her and hopefully will be able to be turned out with them. Thank you for taking such good care of her.
I am so happy that we have complete senior feeds available today that let our friends stay with us longer and healthier! She wants to be alive and she can be!❤
It’s you and the way that you explain and report on how your horses are doing that has drawn me to your channel. I’ve turned to RUclips to avoid negativity and find heart warming news and stories. Keep up the great work and thank you for all you and your organization does to save these beautiful and deserving beauties.
It's pretty normal for them to have trouble with hay at that age. My beloved old TB mare lived to nearly 35, I had her for 30 years. In the last 5 or so years she could no longer chew hay properly (she did have regular teeth work), she still grazed but I fed her a LOT of hard feed to keep her in good condition.I'm so glad Whinny came to you, the oldies still have so much life to live ❤
She looks absolutely gorgeous, the former owner should be made to go through that poor baby went through, they need to know what pain and suffering is. Zero tolerance
The way older horse's quieten down seems so dignified. A huge improvement in her, and like I said, she couldn't have wished for a better home. I so wish I could support you in some way! You're incredible with these animals! May God bless you all. 😊❤💪❤
The only way we can get our older horse to eat forage in the winter instead of hay is to take senior pellets that are soaked and mix them with the forage. It has to be enough of the very tasty senior to overcome the “nasty” forage. Good luck getting her to eat the forage of whatever type. Too bad you can’t get her on grass, that is really what our senior horse prefers.
What the difference from your first video of her is amazing. She has such a friendly looking face and looks like a matching disposition. Just a beautiful girl all the way around. And compliments to you as well. A beautiful person inside and out.
Im so glad she's gaining weight. I can't believe she is 32 years old she doesn't look it. Have you thought about purchasing these bug's that you release in your pastures that eat fly egg's, larvae. I don't know the name of these bug's but apparently they do a great job at reducing flyes.
Whinny moves like a real queen🥰. And when you showed her from behind she looks very balanced in her bone conformation which for her age is fantastic especially once she fills up a bit more. Thank you for everything you're doing for all of your rescues. Cheers from Silvana from South America Uruguay 🇺🇾
I have a pony that is estimated to be around 40 years old. She doesn't eat hay because she doesn't have the teeth for it anymore. ( She's spit out a couple.) She'll colic with hay, so she eats senior pellets.
Strangely, I saw the first video of Whinny’s rescue just a few hours ago, I went to your page to see if there was an update on her, but there wasn’t one. I did watch a couple of your other videos though. I just got a few minutes to sit down and there was a newly uploaded update! Thank you, I’m so happy to see Whinny is improving and her bloods are healthy. You do an amazing thing for these beautiful animals. May you always be blessed in life.
I know zero about horses so thank you for the detailed explanation. I do know that most animals calm down with soothing and classical music and is a good tool to use.
I swear I'm looking at an equine version of myself...older.skinny, picky, feisty & at heart, a princess. 😉Thank you for taking such wonderful care of her. I'm so grateful.
What wonderful care you are giving her and all the other horses, they are so lucky to have found a place with you!! She is coming on very well indeed!xx
Wow. Just WOW. You’ve guys literally saved her life ! She looks so so much better ! I know it’s not easy but I know she appreciates being taken care of !! She still needs to gain a lot of weight but coming along very nicely !!! I sure hope I’m able to adopt her because I just love her already. Have a happy and safe 4th to my favorite rescue!! ❤️💯🐴🙏👍
She's looking SO much better. I'm still confused about how she can have been in such horrible condition when she came from a lovely-looking place and clearly has not been treated cruelly. What happened and how? So odd. Anyway, she has truly landed on her hooves, finding herself in your care. Look forward to seeing her next video and all the very best to her and the rest of your lovely rescued horses.
Awesome job!! :) Whinny loves you, that is for sure!! :) When will she be put back with the other horses? She looks like she's longing to be with them....
She is looking great. I hope she is healing on the inside, too, her heart & lungs & gut muscles. I understand the need for many small meals.. she may need a brief break or longer intervals now & then.. constantly elevated insulin whilst promoting growth, can also drive inflammation. Much love xx🧡💕👌
I am so happy she's doing well she looks good now compared to what she used to look like have you tried feeding her Timothy Hay or oat hay, she might like those.💕🐎
It's hard to believe she's 32 years old. She's an amazing girl.
Arabians live a long time. Some people are still riding theirs at her age and older. My Arabian is 26.
Aid workers in the 1980s were surprised to see that famine victims can be picky about what they eat. They sense that an upset stomach could be very serious for them, they don’t have the energy to be ill. So they tend to go for familiar foods.
I’ve been so excited to see an update on her. Sweet old gal, bless you for rescuing her!
She's hanging in there!
You said Whinny is 32!!! She is starting to look good, and not her age at all. In her youth, she must have been stunning. Arabian diva! lol 🐴❤
Her improvement is showing her bloodlines are awesome.
That mare is a very well bred mare. Even in her current condition, it's easy to imagine how stunning she was in her younger years because she still is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to see when she reaches full health again.
I am so happy her weight has increased. You are truly an angel for her.
Wow, 32!! She’s a beauty! Can’t wait to see her continued progress ❤️
She’s definitely putting on more weight! You have restored her will to live. ❤️

A really important point. Sarcopenia effects the whole body, not just visible muscle.

She looks fantastic for 32

So kind of you to say 🥰
So fulfilling for you to see this beautiful animal return to better health. Must be expensive to feed her grain all the time.
Very!
Winnie is looking regal. So glad. Best to all the rescued horses at RH Farm Rescue and Stables.

She does, she's also very pretty in the face. Once she starts filling out she'll be beautiful.
She's such a beautiful horse.

Her intelligence is striking.

Yes, with the amount of pasture we have it's not economical at this time
Beautiful 🥰
Creator's blessings 🙏🏼♥️
She is looking so good!! It was horrible to see her when you first saved her! Great job!!!

She looks at ease, comfortable and so much better physically. Still the refined lady I see 😊
You are so kind to thank donators by name. ❤❤❤makes such a difference!
Our donors make the difference for these horses - we want to share our gratitude!
She looks so much better already. She is so pretty. Can't wait to see what she looks like in another month. You're doing a great job.
Thank you so much!

She is beautiful ❤❤
We've discovered a fantastic fly catcher, we've caught thousands and thousands with it.
Great video...thanks for all you do.
Did she ever loose a foal? She sure likes the one in the field. And her eyes are so beautiful. Overall beauty. What about Molasses? Does she get that?

Add moistened beet pulp.makes a big difference and it's a roughage.
I wish it was in the 80s and 90s here , it's been in the 100s, 112°F - 119 °F.
Bless her, Princess Whinny! ❤❤❤
I adore Princess Whinney! She is already stunning and I can't wait to see her at a normal, healthy weight.
Awesome job!! :) Whinny loves you, that is for sure!! :) When will she be put back with the other horses? She looks like she's longing to be with them....

People are so nice and helpful. May God bless them with miracles and other gifts.
Love her
I am so happy she's doing well she looks good now compared to what she used to look like have you tried feeding her Timothy Hay or oat hay, she might like those.💕🐎
We did try timothy! Oat hay has hardly any nutritional value so we typically don't bother
Sweet.
Thank you for this video love the horses
She is looking amazing! So much life left and I'm so happy it's with you!
She is stunning!! 🤩
sweet whinny
