Simon said it at the end there - The wealthiest clubs will always get away with it - to the detriment of the smaller clubs.
Funny....alot of the "smaller" clubs were happy to quote the rules and point and the Arab owned clubs...and now find themselves falling victims of the rules smh
@@drep9028 the smaller clubs are also happy to reap the benefits of international tv money generated by the big clubs, until they can't follow the rules and shriek 'cartel cartel'
These teams getting promoted to the Premier League will end up going right back down, they will not be able to compete if they can't take a risk and spend money on players and salaries.
@@gooner4life518 correct...all because of the legacy clubs insecurities. They thought City when took over would sign Rooney, John, Terry, Fabregas and Van Persie. Then add Buffon and Cannavaro and storm the league. They got scared of competition and now we have this
@@gooner4life518true, but they are supposedly changing the rules next year so that you can spend up to 85% of your profit over 3 years. And trust me that will stand Leeds, saints, Ipswich in fair stead.
not one pundit stood up and said it was wrong when LUFC were docked 10 points and on the next occasion 15 points yet they all stand up to defend Everton, Forest etc;
MOT
Spot on - and there's no chance of anything happening to Leicester in the near future as that would benefit Leeds and the football authorities would never stand for that
So Leicesters argument is that the EFL had no jurisdiction and now that the PL has no jurisdiction?? So if that’s Leicesters argument then what jurisdiction have they been playing under?
They can’t have it both ways.
Sounds like they are screwed if they go up or stay down. What annoys me though is that the PL has been hammering smaller clubs while Man City ignored every rule in the book but because they have extremely rich owners with political connections nothing has been done about it.
Respectfully I don’t agree.
The city argument is irrelevant, completely and utterly irrelevant. Everton, Forest and now Leicester have broken PSR it’s incredibly simple, they’ve overspent, lost money and haven’t abided by the rules, these charges are easy to adjudicate and have resolution.
City’s 115 charges that are complex in nature, City have also pleaded not guilty therefore the PL need to have an airtight case in order for their charges to stick. This is not the same and for everyone who says but City, Chelsea don’t really understand the situation. They’ll get theirs.
Instead of this faux outrage (not saying you are but there are those who are so outraged) people need to look at those clubs and say you broke the rules you were punished end of story, it’s absolutely nothing to do with City, Chelsea or the so called big clubs, the PL are not targeting the so called smaller clubs, only the clubs who’ve broken the rules, City have broken the rules and the PL rightly charged them.
To put it another way, legally speaking, if you have two defendants (who have broken the law) 1 has committed one offence, the other multiple offences over a period of time.
Defendant 1 pleads guilty and is sentenced accordingly, in a timely manner.
Defendant 2 pleads not guilty and hires an expensive law team to defend themselves, it doesn’t make to court in a matter of months it takes a good period of time for the prosecution to get their case together and make sure they get the conviction, the defendants lawyers try and delay and delay, but eventually the prosecution and defence have their day in court and whatever happens from there is in the hands of the jury, if the prosecution does its job they’ll get the conviction they’ve been after.
This is exactly what City have done, their within their rights legally to do so, the PL must make sure they’ve got it right to get make sure that their charges of City gets them the guilty verdict they’re after.
It’s not one rule for one and another set for the rest it’s just the way the system has to work. However the PL should be more transparent with where they’re at with the City case so that fans and clubs can be kept aware of how it is progressing but without prejudicing their case.
Everton, Forest & Leicester have to face the facts that they’ve broken the rules and they’ve been punished appropriately. They can’t complain about it, the facts in their cases are the facts.
@@Weakeyedominant yet smaller clubs like Forest been buying left and right and struggled to sell

The fact that city’s charges go back to 2009 and nothing has been done about it makes this whole situation hard to grasp. More and more clubs seem to be jumping the queue for charges when Chelsea and city have been known about since before we got our original 10 point deduction.
Loosing all interest in football when the competition is being made impossible to challenge, the politics in football is ruining the beautiful game
A lot of these rules only came into effect last year and the year before.
Keep talking about city and chelsea and watch them pull up on your club too
What does it matter what Chelsea or City have done in the Everton case- Everton broke the rules so they got punished. If City had gotten punished before Everton, would that have made the points deduction and the inept way your club has been run easier to swallow? You got deducted points because your club has been run terribly not because City have been cheating. There is no secret plot against everton- why would there be, Everton arent significant in the macro economic landscape of world football. No one apart from Everton fans care about Everton.
It's not hard to grasp, it's called corruption. They're not going to actually charge Manchester City with anything. They are just hoping we either forget all about those charges or just accept nothing is going to happen.
You’re right the charges go back to 2009 when there was no such thing as FFP then 👍🏾👍🏾 you don’t even know what you’re talking about, just chatting out of your ass. The City situation isn’t the same as the other clubs situation like what do you not understand about that. Chelsea under the new regime haven’t broken PSR yet key word is yet they most likely will June 30th but idk why you’re complaining when those teams knew the rules and still chose to break the rules
Jim is worried about Leicester fans being affected by the club's mismanagement of their finances; how about Leeds & Southampton fans when their clubs were relegated and the three teams above them (Leicester, Nottm Forest and Everton) all breached FFP last season and, as has been officially stated in judgements handed down to Forest and Everton so far, they gained a sporting advantage by doing so? Why should Leeds & Southampton fans watch their teams get relegated because the teams directly above them cheated the rules? If fans have to suffer it needs to be the fans of the teams who cheated.
leicester never gained a sporting advantage. they didn’t even sign players when they was in the PL last seaosn
They overspent, they clearly and obviously gained a sporting advantage. If they bought nobody that season it just means they should have sold assets to remain FFP compliant. It's not rocket science.

It’s crazy that clubs are required to provide a set of accounts and they can refuse. Live in-year financial record access to the league authorities should be a given in this day and age.
It should be a requirement to compete in the league in question. If a club plays silly buggers and refuses to show the accounts they should be suspended from playing and deducted 3 points for every match they can't play until they show the books. Points deductions, VAR, games regularly having 10 minutes extra time added on, poor standard of refereeing, I'm a Forest fan and tbh right now the Championship looks quite appealing!
The refereeing is horrific in the EFL, wait until you have 6 or 7 goals disallowed and double again in penalties when the championship clubs kick lumps out of the PL teams.

You read my mind...being an Everton fan I'm thinking, would dropping down be such a bad thing, considering the S**t show the Prem is!

The only plus to the premier league is the money, but that’s becoming a double edged sword with the amount you have to spend to survive…it’s wages that are killing the game, players are been given to much.
They're guilty. Should stop them from gaining promotion this season
They got 80 million for maguire, 75 million for fofana massive parachute payments and prizes for the prem and fa cup including many years of tv money. Even Rodgers had multiple interviews saying the owners can't spend money. And then Man city and Chelsea spend billions and the can keeps being kicked back. Very odd. Of course if the owner change depleted the capital and other things affected it fair enough but it looks a bit daft. It's not like they spent big or had big wages and they were succesfull! Even having champions league money, then selling all their best players... very very odd.
As an Ipswich fan, I disagree. I think what’s going on is protecting other clubs from ever being able to get to the levels of the big boys. Was okay for Chelsea and City but now the likes of Newcastle, Villa, and other clubs have cash wealthy owners they have changed the ball park.

@@TheBake1986 correct, next year will be a lot tighter if Leeds and Leicester go back up. It looks like Leicester will struggle next season though if they can't strengthen their squad and need to sell a star player to balance their books.
Forest & Everton are in the PL. The PL can deduct points from teams that are in the PL. Leicester are in the Championship, the PL cannot deduct points from a team that is not in the PL. If they get promoted, they'll then get points deducted. This is not difficult to understand.
Breaking FFP should be punished by signing bans ...... 3 seasons for the first ban and then increasing. Dropping points punishes fans who've paid good money from their wages to finance all of this.....
Blame the owners. They knew the rules, they broke them.

If Leeds go up this season which they hopefully will ironically going down a league will have been beneficial. We’ve been able to regroup, get some stability and though we were a little slow to gel it hasn’t been detrimental to our campaign. Everton probably do need to go down and reset. The money in the premier league is ridiculous. Realistically you need a season where all the big teams are going through transition to have a Leicester scenario again. It’s nice winning games and having aspirations other than slugging it out to stay up. You lose a game but then play on a Tuesday so can get over it quickly enough.

They had the cheek to try and sue Everton 😂...they broke the rules in the premier league and 100 percent should be sanctioned by the same league
In what other industry would it be ok and sustainable for a company to be " ok " if it only loses £30 million a year. Year on year ?
Exactly. I love football, but it shoots itself in the foot. It thinks its above everything else
People need to remember that before FFP we had the situations at both Leeds and Portsmouth. Both spent vastly more than they earned and both ended up going through multiple relegations, administration and in Portsmouths case a winding up order. It’s all well and good when there’s a rich owner or benefactor to keep paying the bills. But what happens when they decide not to or leave. This is what happened at Portsmouth when the rich Russian owner stopped paying the bills and it’s what’s happening at Reading where the owner has lost interest. The idea of FFP or PSR is to try and make the clubs sustainable so there’s still a club to support in 50 years.
Please explain how deducting points from relegation threatened teams is helping to achieve that?

Newcastle fan here, and the only reason we voted for FFP at the time was because of our then owner, Mike Ashley. He loved the idea of clubs having to be 'self-sufficient' because it meant he didn't have to spend a single penny of his own money on us. The trouble with being self-sufficient is that unless your club has a revenue stream of a Man U, Liverpool, or Arsenal, then you are never going to compete and the best you can hope for is mid table obscurity.
No city and chelsea voted against. Southampton abstained.

Ffp and the financial regulations need to be completely re structured. Leicester are a going concern with strong ownership, these rules are destroying the chance for a competitive playing field. If it carries on then the future of PL could be in serious jeaporady

FFP is a joke. Why should an owner be restricted from investing in it's own business?
These rules where made to protect the status quo.
It's more damaging long term for the clubs trying to navigate around these rules like Chelsea, getting tied to 10 year contracts. Just let the market regulate itself and keep bureaucrats out of it.
Because much like people on the street, we can overspend and get into financial trouble. Why should a club with over 100 years of history go under because of a reckless owner. Come on mate , try a bit harder to work things out.
@adammohamed.. no club or business has a God given right to survive independently of it's age.
For every bad business that dies, a better one takes it's place. It's basic law of evolution and free markets.
Like a sick animal that dies gives place to a stronger one to use resources and build it's lineage.
Football is no different. Just because you're emotionally attached to a club doesn't mean it has to exist forever. Your feelings have no business doing business, they just a problem of yours.
Clubs couldn't regulate themselves, that's why so many have gone into administration. Virtually all clubs wanted these rules. The clubs that are now being punished voted for these rules. With one or two exceptions owners don't want to be having to pump huge sums of money into their clubs every year to cover operating losses, but when your competitors are doing it you have to as well, and then it leads to a race to the bottom as transfer fees and wages spiral out of control.

Plenty of, just not in this conversation as it's about Leicester's attempts to hide a season's financial records by claiming neither body (PL or EFL) has jurisdiction.

If you're on trial for murder, you can't raise a defense based on that other guy in the papers last month who done 6 murders. The judge and jury won't determine your guilt by their case, only the facts of your case.
They were mentioned. About how Man City is avoiding being charged and the fact that it has no bearing on Leicester. Man City's case is due next year and more about fraud than FFP. They lied over their income, exaggerated sponsorship money by millions (maybe one for HMRC), Leicester on the other hand have just overspent and don't want to admit it. Man City could be in bigger trouble than any club breaking FFP.
Breech is a noun referring to the rear of a gun or the rear, or buttocks, of a person. Most people are familiar with "breeches" meaning "pants." Breach on the other hand means "a break or violation" such as a "breach of conduct" or a "breach in a dam."

IKR WAT ABOUT CITYYYY 🤷♂️
FFP in its current state is so broken. No one can spend anything, it’s clearly made to benefit the big clubsz
The system as it is now seems like a joke. 115 Charges, not a single one adjudicated, might walk free with ZERO consequences, but they are beating up on smaller clubs with smaller bank accounts. Honestly, the way the rules are now, nons of the smaller teams will ever break into the top 6. Look at Newcastle, all the momey in the world doesn't matter because the rules say they can't invest it on the team. Its set up so that big clubs with big revenue will continue to remain big, while smaller clubs with smaller revenues will never be able to break in.
Edit: If Man City walks from all of this with barely any of their 115 charges proven, and end up just paying a small fine, then all these smaller clubs need to team up, lawyer up and take the league to court. There has to be something they can sue them for.
The smaller clubs have not fought it they have admitted fault. City are denying fault. F*cks sake how much of a helmet do you need to be to not understand it yet. They are totally different cases.
😂😂😂😂😂0 ball knowledge
Chelsea, Man City, Everton and now Leicester... What is it about teams that play in blue always wanting to break the beautiful game with money?
Can someone please tell Stuart to keep quiet 😂
He don't half rabbit on!!!🤣
They are cheating bastards. They should not be promoted. Why should they be able have better players and spend more money than other clubs. Makes a mockery of clubs that abide by the rules.
Gary Lineker's tears will be extra salted at the moment.
This is their second rules break having previously broke rules prior to being promoted previously and IMO should double the pts punishment
Promise you now, Gary Neville, has a lot to do with this, not joking I really believe hes a small part of why this is all going the way it is
How is that
@@jamieoshea4189 moaning about the premier league and the need for independent regulators and calling many times for the government to get involved and regulate English football. He’s gone on about it constantly and now, the premier league are acting strict trying to prove they don’t need to be regulated by external organisations, hence the ffp charges for minor breaches of financial fair play. Now I might be wrong, 100%, but we’ve never seen so many ffp charges, I don’t ever remember a premier league team being given points deductions, if I’ve missed something please correct me because this is just my opinion and I’m not 100% clued up on ffp so I could be wrong
the expert must be good to keep his former emplyers out of this
It looks like 115 charges are going to be forgotten about
With city they saying the faked the amount of money where paid by sponsors ,which is probably true if we being honest but the current evidence the FA as is not good enough they waiting for court to release more documents to them when that happens and then they don't send city packing it's an issue.
No it doesn't. It looks like the case is ongoing and the hearing is expected around August.
Still being calculated . 😊
In what way are they forgotten. It's literally an ongoing investigation. The charges City are facing is in relation to fraud which is a far more complicated process to investigate compared to FFP charges which Leicester/Forest and Everton have faced.
Saying that City's charges have been brushed under the carpet is the most flawed comment

A word of warning to those who say their clubs are been unfairly targeted; not too long ago English Rugby Union had three clubs that spent money they didn't have and tried to hide that for as long as possible. As a result London Irish, Worcester along with one of the major clubs Wasps went bankrupt. Their fans no longer have a club to support do the fans of those clubs that are quite clearly breaching the rules realise just what could happen to their club? It's not too long ago that Bolton Wanderers were experiencing European football but they came within hours of extinction.
The simple fact that two of the clubs in question have gone out of their way to hide their true financial situation tells you they knew they were doing wrong but based on the rules of the time all they thought was going to happen was a fine or a slap on the wrists. It wasn't until Everton got their points deduction that people were up in arms.
Leicester have out spent clubs in the championship and taken players who were going to sign for other teams. If they have cheated their finances which it very much sounds like they have, they need punishing. They owe compensation to many teams in the championship. I hope they continue bottling the league, miss out on promotion then get a big points deduction which keeps them in the championship for many years to come. Got no time for cheaters.
In 23/24 bought 6 players cost 42m. Sold Madison, Barnes ,Castagne total 105m.
Leicester have not yet submitted their accounts for the previous season in the Premier league...and according to the Premier league they are guilty of surpassing the legal limit of financial accountability... Leicester have been charged but have not yet been found GUILTY, so withhold your 'Cheat' comments until the facts are fully understood... you're not a Leicester fan obviously, and If you're happy with football going the way it's going with The Top 6 Mafia controlling English football then that is the END of every other Club trying to compete with them.
@@wobkgs what does that tell you about their financial irresponsibility then if they’ve STILL breached FFP?
Enjoying this - calling out cheaters doesn't make the PL a laughing stock the oil rich owners financially doping the sport did. Time the sport stopped becoming something for rich people and went back to being something working class people can enjoy again.
Forest Everton and Leicester been found guilty of breach of ffp rules means leeds would have stayed up last season if the points deductions had been put in place when they should have been done last season
"Suspend The Rules", Man City and Chelsea will vote for that!
Meanwhile City plough on ffs
The same Leicester that wanted sue Everton for PSR breach😂
The Premier League should refuse any promotion by Leicester.
But that would effectively equate to a relegation.
🤫
The “crash and burn” reference obviously went over their heads 😂😂
Every club is breaching the rules. Man city has flagrantly breached them. Is it not just better to get rid of them.
FFP Losses are assessed over three seasons (rather than just over the single, previous season) The assessment of each club's finances is a combination of a historic assessment (looking at figures for the two previous completed season) and an assessment over the season currently taking place Leicester cheated they signed off on it as did all other clubs now they have been caught out and rightly so should be punished no club should be promoted winning a league title when they have cheated sorry Leicester fans the rules are the rules .....MOT
Leicester making a mockery of the FFP system. Not clever, just shameless. Whataboutery regarding City won't change fact: Just as dirty as the rest, only on a smaller scale.
What about the Championship teams who have to face the bloated Leicester squad, this stinks.
As a Watford fan I don’t think it would of made a difference to our season 😂
If neither Everton or Forest go down and Leicester still get promoted then all these point deductions make absolutely F all difference. Clubs will just keep doing it as the impact is just a few millions pounds of lost prize money based on final league position
Breech? I reckon there's about 4 GCSE passes in the whole of the Talksport offices.
This is getting ridiculous! They should scrap at all together and just implement some rule to stop the big guys poaching the minnows
Funny. Leicester fans were calling for Everton to be punished when they were relegated. Karma is a b!tch. Deal with it.
Always good to hear an unbiased view ….
Breach, not breech.
It's spelled "breach". "Breech" refers to one's nether regions, as in 'breech birth' and 'in breeches' i.e. trousers or britches
They should be immediately kicked out of The Premier and EFL Leagues?
It's simple. If Leicester cant accept the charges due to the fact they aren't a premier league side, then fine. You're welcome to stay in the EFL and someone else can take you spot in the league.
Strait-jacketing 'smaller' clubs is the name of the game. This has nothing to do with sustaining football clubs in an altruistic pursuit of maintaining the integrity of the football pyramid, this is money driven to ensure that the big internationally supported clubs are at the top and therefore keeping those massive global revenues rolling in. From a Spurs fan.
From a spurs fan. How much was our net spend on transfers for the decade before the stadium was built?
It was zero. Yet we competed and got to a cl final.
You don't need a sugar daddy.
Just look at reading to see what happens when they decide to stop spending. Or derby, or portsmouth, leeds back in the day.
All these Leicester fans that were shagging Everton now saying that something is wrong with ffp😂
It’s easy to catch smaller clubs. Wake me when MC is punished for any of their multiple charges.
Enjoy your nap, it will be a long one.
