Looks easy, but I'll just let the shop do it😁

Did you have any issue getting the 6 bolts that hold the thermostat housing out? Not issue with getting a ratchet in there but an issue with how hard it is to get the bolts to back out? Mine are almost so stuck i can barely turn them with a ratchet and am worried I might sheer the heads off the bolts? Any recommendations?

Most likely someone has already done it and overtightened them. If they shear extraction would be simple.

Try and remove them after truck coolant system has reached normal operating temperature. Go easy, if you get some movement, spray with penetrating oil and slowly work back and forth

Do you have to drain all the coolant or just the reservoir?

Were the thermostats set correctly? I see people stating otherwise.

There is no literature from paccar or daf as to where either thermostat is placed.

You have the thermostats wrong, want lower temp to open and if it gets too hot you want the next one open so it flows better now everything the way you have it will open at even hotter temps putting more wear on everything

Looking at the way coolant flows. I have it so the hotter one is always under flow making sure it opens when needed. Maybe my understanding of the coolant circuit is wrong. Since there is no publications from paccar or daf. Do you have a publication?

@@tommysmith8801local Peterbilt dealer here provided me with literature. 80 degree thermostat goes first, followed by 90 degree thermostat. Great video, but they’re backwards bro.

I didn’t mean to come off like an ass. I watched this video to learn how to change mine in the first place. The only reason I came back here to say it was wrong is because after following the instructions from your video I was aggravated because my truck started to run way too hot (230-240)which lead me to believe they are backwards..it’s a stupid design in the first place. The dealer didn’t give me anything but 2 thermostats and a receipt. You may be wrong or right. My comment was misdirected out of anger. Keep making videos. Either way you helped me out. There’s a channel called Arsen trucking I believe with the paper from the dealer saying which thermostat goes where. The cooler one goes closer to the radiator hose.
