Been planning for months to get this. Just got my Xmas Bonus from work today so now I can buy the base module + 2 extra batteries. Yay! Putting in my order this weekend and I'm so excited! Thank you in advance Rubbee X!
The Rubbee X does everything stated here in the video. If you have a normal bike then this is the easiest and quickest way to go electric on the market right now! 100% recommended!!!
One huge weakness (apart from the lack of working ios app), is that if the button battery dies in the crank sensor, no power. It's pretty hard to change out on the road
How about a RUclips explanation of how to replace the sensor battery. The back of the sensor appears to be secured to the front with plastic rivets--no screw head, slotted, Phillips or Allan types.
I like this. Makes it easy to leave the bike in the garage and charge the device indoors away from the elements. Though what is the long term support like? Id hate to buy this and then 2 years down the line I find out that I cant get batteries because a new version is made and the original batteries are discontinued
@@aljondevera4147 i skimmed through it, didn't have time for a 7 min advertisement ;) but I am interested in the product. I see it's based on a cadence sensor, nice solution.
I bet more people would consider this, if it has an 'optional' Throttle Button. My ebike kit has throttle button but I mostly use it to push me forward to start the bike. I can also use the throttle button for additional power in climbing small hills. But of course, it would be more expensive & require wiring.
Umm. Didn't show us the motor pushing the bike without peddling. What's the slope rating? Will this work on a 3 Wheel Trike? Didn't show us how it works on one battery. Where's the link to the website?
A few questions to anyone who has been running these for a longer period. How's the performance in wet weather conditions, can you use it in heavy rain? Is accidental mud contamination a concern, is it easy to service the product if it gets dirty? Does it slip on narrow tyres? Would it work with airless tyres? Thanks for anyone who can answer any of these questions.
Such a cool thing! Would you buy this over an e-bike budget wise? I'm wondering if it could fit on my Dutch biciycle. There is a rack on my bicycle blocking the place where you put your Rubbee X.
There is a charger plug on the rear light of the device and Rubbee X comes with a charger. Plug the charger to an AC outlet, connect it to Rubbee X and it will charge in 1-3 hours :) You can unclip it and take it with You for longer storage, but it can also be locked through the handle together with the bike.
Hi Patrick ! Rubbee is really silent with regular city/road/hybrid tires. You can start hearing it only with off-road tires but even then it's not that loud.
@@RubbeeDrive Thanks! Sounds like a solid solution. Would love to hear a video of the noise (most of the reviews have background music playing so you can't tell). It's too bad you can't fly with ebike batteries, would be a great kit for us because my wife typically rents an ebike when we travel.
@@patrickrenschler Good idea, we'll work on a video to show how silent the Rubbee X really is :) and our batteries are bellow the 100Wh capacity limit so You can actually bring Rubbee X on a flight just like a laptop or any other battery-powered device.
You can lock Rubbee X together with the bike using a chain/cable lock if You want to leave it outside. But yes if You store the bike outside for long periods of time (next to the workplace for example) it's best to unclip it and take it with You for a recharge :)
What is max range with 3 battery packs in eco mode? Max range 3 battery packs in power mode? Will this still work if I am expending lots of energy? (i.e. I usually put out about 200 watts, would this just essentially double my output?)
Hi ! We have customers who travel even over 60km on a single charge with 3 packs in Eco mode. It does take some planning to reach such distance though. Usually it varies between 45-50km in such combination. And yes, the more power You put on the pedals Yourself, the more distance the assistance will help You. And yes, Your 200W + 250W from Rubbee X will essentially double Your total power output.

@@paultaylor7691 Hi again :) the charger has variable input voltages, meaning the transformer inside of it on the AC side can accept a range of voltages(and frequencies) and convert it into DC output required for the device to charge.
