I just got one over the weekend. I didn’t realize that it’s battery powered. I had the other smaller corded one that looks like this, but the dremel tensioner wouldn’t come off while holding the release button, the button kept popping back out while holding the release, it would not stay locked. So be careful that you do not over tighten them. I’m not sure if this one has that issue. I did find a ridged to Bauer converter had I do have ridged batteries. I can’t wait to use this tool, it’s light weight, but heavier then corded version however this one seems much heavier duty. It was only $5 more. I definitely recommend the two year warranty for $7 though!!
It's spinning at exactly 5,000 rpms because next to my Ryobi 5,000- 25,000 rpm rotary tool the first setting 5000 matches perfectly with the same sound as this Bauer so I would say it is 5,000 RPM when you first turn it on

Thanks for commenting. Honestly I don’t know why HF has 2 different power tool lines with separate dedicated batteries. There are some write ups on how you can “modify” your Hercules to fit but not sure how wise that is. Might look into an adapter though. 👍🏻
My three that I have seems like if you use it till the battery is dead on the 1.5 batteries seems like the handpiece overheats all the time and you have to stop and let it cool down do you have the same issue
Does yours vibrate a lot? I'm having trouble working too long due to hand pain. I don't have that trouble with traditional flex shaft set ups. Curious if it's just mine or the tool itself.
Look at the top of the tool you have said you thought it was 5,000 RPMs you're right on the money if I was only able to send you a picture I could actually send you a picture of that statement it's on the top part of the tool when you hang it says it right there 5,000 to 33,000 it's clearly not 0 RPMs
@@ThingsMen the actual pinout of the device/battery. specifically what is actually required to power the rotary tool? it looked like it might be a dumb device from that adapter, but if that's the case why do they bother putting the rest of the contacts in? also, the big blob of plastic just behind the metal collet is usually an 19mm x 2mm threaded nut which could be used as a tool mount, however I can't tell here if that big blob of plastic is actually a threaded nut or just a fake thing that's molded into the case.
TH pin on the battery/device is for a thermistor. 10k ohm resistor between that and ground will allow the device to turn on and you can use whatever power source. My guess is the nut on the flex shaft is fake since the screws coincide with the clamshell of the molding.

Really a nice set up the problem for me is all my stuff is Hercules and I'm not getting into a different battery platform it would be handy though

That’s good feedback. I would imagine the handpick with all that vibration and friction from the cord would cause that heat. Thanks for sharing 👊🏻

Haven’t used too much but it’s been smoother than my hand held units.

Watching this video after buying mine and it don't work. Powering wih M18 adapter and battery. Time to exchange I guess.
You might test the adapter for continuity. Otherwise return and replace the unit.
