- Check out this Fast Paced Old School Vintage Drag Racing that went on at the Glory Days Event at Byron Dragway in Byron Illinois Saturday July 22nd, 2021.
Long Burnouts, wheelies, Gassers, altered and Front Engine Dragsters all come together at this event every year and put on a great show down the 1/4 Mile Drag Strip. There is a swap meet, car show, and drag racing all in one spot.

@@tomeighty - before my back gave out I used to drive 100 miles south to all the great nostalgia events at Auto Club Famoso (Bakersfield, CA). I would go to a nostalgia event 100X over an NHRA event.

I am only 24 and I'm a huge fan of these older gassers and steet freaks. We need to keep history like this alive, it's where all racers come from at heart. There would be no custom cars and racing today without these pioneers. Back in the day it wasn't who had the most Power or money, it was run what you brung, hold onto your butts and have some fun. May the best racer win. Thanks for the post. Brought a smile to my face.

I really like the wheel standing van. He/or she does it old school. A lot of the newer ones pick the front end up with a drawbar. I would rather see it done with throttle control, that shows skill.

Every car is a winner. Great Video.... I remember many of these cars as plastic models when I was a kid... Anglias, Willys, 57 Chevs... Love that Ford Falcon... Fantastic wheelie van... and the world-famous Panty Dropper too.

This is the drag racing I like, it's honest, I quit watching NHRA, it's all about the sponsers and drivers that can remember all the sponsers names and can recite them. Toyotas with Chrysler Hemi's, Phony.

voilà ca c est des voitures de bonhommes pas de vitres électrique pas de clim n y de direction assistée dans le mot assister tout et dit mais bon c est bien le seul luxe que je motorisé le reste pour les retraiter ceux qui non plus de muscles et c est comme ca qu on ce sans vivant rouler vite jusqu au prochain WD ou dans la semaines on aura améliorer sont v8 big blok ou smal 🙏😔👉🏽🇫🇷😘💪
