Here’s my prediction for Steve. I think he could be decent to start, but as more time goes on he will progressively get higher up on the tier list. He is a very complicated character with a lot of depth and a lot of mechanics that will take a while for top players to really get a hold of.
I agree with this statement. I dont think he’ll be a top tier due to some pretty glaring weaknesses, but I predict high tier at best if one is willing to invest the time into this character. He’s hard as hell to use, but I can see creative players getting rewarded for it.

Man there is so much about this character that is crazy. You can cancel smash attacks by hopping on the block and holding a smash attack until block breaks. First character to ever cancel smash attacks. Also TNT has some good set ups with side special.
And be the most hated top tier smash character to oblivion just like Bayonetta from Smash 4 to let the smash community realize why nintendo pick this braindead character over outta all these good fan demands characters such as Crash, Dante, Geno, Master Chief, Tracer, Sora, Doomguy, etc.

Hey Juan, after you go too deep for a ledge guard, instead of immediately using up-B, you can use build and build blocks up slightly so your recovery can make it to the ledge.
Seems like this character has.... Pros: incredible kill power and combos, which result in a character that can kill you it of nowhere, like say mario. Fast/strong moves that are hard to deal with Can set up weird scenarios and is a flexible character A lot of useful moves Deadly off stage Cons: Slow character with tiny jump and and tiny attacks (most of them) which means this is a character you can camp easily and crumbles from afar A character that relies on mining and setting up stuff. So if you pressure this character, they cannot do a whole lot Edit: I forgot to mention you cannot mine on the ground so you kinda suck in the air. However, you can get out of those scenarios through mix-ups like D air.
This character’s kill power isn’t that great, most character’s spikes can do what his can do or better. Up smash is his strongest move, but it’s nowhere near as great as Lucas’s up smash. And TNT kills at 100+ his kill power is eh
He is very vulnerable to early rushdown too, but he carries his resources to his next stock and the match can suddenly swing strongly into his favor. Rushdowns with bad recovery like Roy, Chrom, and little Mac are extremely volatile against Steve. Rushdowns with good recovery like Pikachu and Peach can dominate him. Once again, it seems like having a good horizontal projectile is extremely valuable.
Something I need to test is if Steve’s down throw when you don’t have iron, combos into f-air. I found the launch angle stays pretty consistent when you don’t have iron and the launch distance seems possible, and if it works then it raises Steves’ Shnasty level by 5

He’s not broken at all. He’s inconsistent and is liquid ass against rush down characters since he gets pressured so easily. Combined with his reliance on building and his durability he’s not competitively great but I love his whacky play style. Don’t know why people say he needs to be nerfed when Arsene and Hero’s critical hits are miles more broken. Not hating on any of the aforementioned characters just explaining that this character isn’t going to be solo mainable winning major tournaments since a character like Joker is faster, has more KO power and miles more consistent. Steve isn’t broken.

his frame-data is absurd, he has really strong attacks, combs that can range from 60 to 80 percent, ledge traps, and is just a cool character overall.

I tested Steve and you can kill Toon Link by a spike at 39%. Starting from 0%.
Only 'Steve' has got me to go to effort to find a way to pay online, on the Switch. Nothing else has.
