@Metallist just because a character is not unbeatable doesn't mean they are not overpowered... Also people are just learning the character while hbox has all the practice in the world as puff, there is no denying Steve's frame data is insane.
Makes sense that Dabuz is Pro with another highly creative and flexible character. His others being Rosalina and Olimar.
Dabuz is a natural when it comes to coordination.

The whole thing about Steve is that you just can't let him play his video game under any circumstances. If Steve plays his game, you no longer get to play yours
You do have to play really aggressive against Steve. Any time he spends mining resources or upgrading his weapon inches him closer to winning. Also he sucks if he doesn't get any iron as it is used for several of his strongest moves.
Very good way of putting it.

I’m pretty sure when Steve mines he becomes heavier/slower because everyone has been commenting on how they feel surprised at how quick he is or how light he is, but when their inventory is full people have called him slow. I haven’t played him yet but just from other streams I’ve picked up on it.
I'll test that out with the weight platforms on mushroom kingdom
You don't get weighed down in minecraft, not sure why they'd add that considering how meticulous sakurai is to making characters true to their games.

The reason that sometimes cart is stupidly strong is that it depends on whether Steve has gold or not, and you can tell by the HUD.
You also need Redstone for the Redstone Torches that give him the launch power

It seems like most of steve’s moves are all straight in one of the four directions, I think you need to approach from a diagonal which isn’t possible with puff
But his f-air and b-air cover a lot of his sides tho. If there is a window it is very small
@@pablopereyra7126 Yeah really steve’s attacks are all weak, constant attacks which turns all the area around him into this giant wall of damage. His only real “blind spot” is if you come at him diagonally from below :/

a solid spike setup I found was to double jump off ledge, place a block, follow with landing a f-smash and the angle will spike the opponent. works really well so far.
So many online people gonna switch mains just to beat Steve so the mining sounds in their nightmares will end.

Yeah, Steve is a resource character. If you're gonna play a lightweight against him like Jigglypuff, you need to go full force aggressive. Other, heavier characters can back off, or bait Steve into wasting resource, but a lightweight like Jiggly just has to suppress Steve every second or get outpaced.
Edit: Also, Dabuz definitely played this sup-optimal. Minecart is VERY expensive and uses huge amounts of resource, yet he uses it all the time. Keep in mind that Steve's entire playstyle is resource-management. The most basic strategy would be to mine, knock you away, mine, knock you away, craft, knock you away, mine, etc... until you can't recover. Dabuz did do that for a while, then he appeared to get bored and started wasting resource. Mark my words: barring some shenanigans of coding, everyone will fall into this pattern with Steve eventually.

For those of you who don't know, Steve can end his up-B early by pressing shield/grab. This destroys his wings and lets him keep some momentum. This actually gives him significantly more reach towards the ledge (in fact, had Dabuz used this at 13:26, he would have lived).
