  • Handlebar upgrade for my Royal enfield interceptor 650. The video is a DIY for someone looking to upgrade to the Aluminum handlebar sold by Royal Enfield.
    These cost Rs. 2500 and are an excellent replacement to the stock chrome handlebar. Lightweight and better finished than stock these surely help to enhance the look of the motorcycle and since these are reinforced aluminum in my opinion should also be more rigid and definitely lightweight that the stock ones.
    Hope you all like the video, Cheers!!!

    what I do to remove grips are remove the cluch lever assembly and the switch. remove the bar end weights put a big spanner on the handle so that handle is between the spanner then hammer the spanner. grip will just rocket out of the handle without any lubricants.

    Great video with useful tips. I am going to install Himalayan handlebar on my conti GT650 which is a bit more complicated as need to replace some cables and yoke too. The suggestion of the higher riser sizing and the provision of source info from bandidospitstop is incredibly helpful to me (if i had not seen your video i would have installed the standard risers which would not be as good).

      Hey..Recently I have installed Himalayan Handel bar on my GT 650 with the stock risers and now I'm feeling pain on my palms. Do you think installing the aftermarket risers will help?

    • @earthworm7894
      @earthworm7894 2 года назад

      Hi. I still watiing on my parts to come from India (i ordered a lot more than the items to do this). If u feeling pain in palms its probably because you are taking your body weight on your palms by leaning forward on them. I still have standard clip ons at the moment and it took me 300km to figure out the seating postion to avoid taking weight on palms. This includes knees in tight to tank, sit up close to tank, clench stomach and back muscles to hold your body upright whilst loose holding the bars. It sounds a bit weird but now i find my stock standard conti GT quite comfortable even for 150km plus rides rides. But I guess these things differ for each rider depending on height & weight. the aftermarket risers rise the height of the bar and pull it back towards you too a bit too. So i think it will help to keep your body more upright and weight off your palms. the only way to know is to try and then tinker with riding position to ensure not leaning on palms.

    E joyed your video , I won't be changing my bars as I have the Glitter& Dust Interceptor and the chrome bars suit it , I fitted the Motone risers which were the 1inch up and 1inch back , yours seem to be higher n you didn't mention size in video , with mine I had to release the brake cable from where it was cable tied to the frame !

    • @motodiariesbyrck2032
      @motodiariesbyrck2032  3 года назад +1

      Glitter and dust would certainly look better with the chrome. Mine’s the same size. Don’t think Motone does other sizes. I too had to loosen up some cables to allow free movement of the handlebar. I’m glad you liked the video. Cheers and safe riding!

    I have already installed a handlebar riser and pulled it back towards me(2 inches). However, the stock handlebar of the Interceptor is not wide and l still don’t find it comfortable. I get pain on my wrists and forearm after long rides. Are these handlebars wider than the stock handlebar of Interceptor? If you have any other solution for improvement let me know

    • @motodiariesbyrck2032
      @motodiariesbyrck2032  2 года назад

      Hi Raghav, there may be the RD handlebar that may be wider than the stock handlebars. You may want to try those out. Pain in the wrist and arms is generally due to the rider putting the body weight onto the arms while riding as opposed to letting the torso handle the body weight. Maybe that's what is causing your wrist pain.
