A little constructive criticism: That third phase of the original track - the one you start with - is easily the best part of the piece. It's arguably the best 8 measures in the entire catalog of the MM music. But it only works at the end of the piece, not at the beginning. Putting it at the beginning is like putting the end of the movie before the start. I wanted your piece to build up to that point, not give it away as soon as the video starts playing.
a potential way this could have been improved is if he removed the percussion and backing instruments and a left instead a very short and soft version of that melody so that it can act as a teaser rather than a complete giveaway

I know I’m probably years late to the discussion here, but I wanted to say that I think capcom should’ve started in the “chorus” like you did. It makes more sense to have a fast paced melody at the start of the song, since you only hear it after beating at least one boss. It picks you up, and encourages you to keep going. I love what you did with one of my favorite wily stage themes.
