Zen6 is supposed to be fixing the area that hold back Zen5 core's 33%+ higher compute resources. And that's without counting AVX-512 specific improvement. Zen5 got as better cores, and those are overkill without rest of the system being able to feed it enough data. Vcache helps that side of story a lot, as does rehauling the IO-die and chiplet architecture for Zen6.
It sounds to me like 2027/28 year(s) game cycle is going to be nuts. AMD provide the hardware for PS and they are the best CPU's on the market, maybe their 3D V-cache maybe in the PS6, they will most likely have a NPU in it too. AMD will have FSR 4.0 out and if it is as good as PSSR, i could put a bet on it we will see AMD hardware managing to path trace games, finally. I feel it will be unbelievable few years for gaming
Fanboys doing their part purchasing $600 285k. That doesn't even include the cost of premium ram and single gen (one-n-done) motherboard Here's to hoping there's even enough fanboys out there.
Likely won't happen, Qualcomm is looking to buy parts of Intel, and Intel is looking to divest parts of the company, and amd and nvidia are also looking at buying some of intel, and Intel is talking with Samsung about a partnership. If Intel wants to save itself it should stop making cpus and gpus and license out x86 and other patents to smaller cpu and gpu companies that are very small and help them grow. Creating a large variety of Cpu companies with with cpus on par with intel 8th gen or 12th gen to compete with amd providing a large amount of competition to take back market shares from amd, and they can put all of them under the Intel umbrella. They won't have to do much work just a bit of investing and assistance taking the lowest risk and collecting pay while these companies act independently from Intel. It gives us more choice and would dilute the cpu space even further. Intel can rake in cash flow from licensing agreements and royalties off cpu makers that use x86 or any of Intel patents or from the companies under its umbrella. Kinda like how a game publisher doesn't make the game, the studio does but the publisher gets to rack in the cash, and they may own or be partnered with the studio that makes the game. Intel could adopt a similar strategy for CPUs and GPUs.
They need get rid of Pat because potential BMG buyers are scared of dropping support early if they decided to cut off their dedicated GPUs and that's also my concern if new version or feature comes out in some program or game and it will be useless for Intel d gpus
I would be curious to see if AMD/TSMC is looking at an implementation of 2.5D packaging that uses through-silicon vias (TSVs) instead of an interposer packaging, used on Intel's Ultra series and an earlier version of interposers used by AMD with the Radion VII (Vega).
Thanks i am keen on zen 6 because they might fix the io die and core count. I dont need to upgrade from my 13700k for now but i want my next cpu to last and be versatile

So it's going to be on AM5 right? I'm just going to make a prediction here. If the heat spreader design is the same as we're used to on the AM5 chips, I'd guess the socket will be the same.
The 9800x3d current price in Denmark is $632 It's a complete joke, I was rdy to buy an AM5 x3d CPU but currently need to spend +600 dollars for that sjit, so I will just buy the 7500f and they can go d13 from c4ncer.
Nvidia has been known to release the graphics card first. As AMD said they will reveal RDNA 4 in CES. So Nvidia will release Blackwell before the end of the year. Also Nvidia always show their new Desktop GPU generation in their own event rather than events like CES. Nvidia was just waiting for AMD to confirm their RDNA 4 reveal date and then Nvidia just changed the reveal date to release thier GPUs before AMD 🤣🤣
What amazes me about AMD is according to MLID they are going to keep making AM4 CPUs until 2026! According to Tom's sources Milan based server chips are selling like hotcakes so instead of ramping down they are ramping up production of Milan and will continue through 2026 and since Milan is Zen 3 all those chips that don't get used for Milan will get sold on AM4. If AM5 gets even half the support AM4 does I really don't see a future for Intel on the desktop, I mean who is going to want to buy a new board every couple of years for chips that perform worse and use more power when you can just buy AMD and just drop in new chips as they come out?
90% of people buying PCs don't care about being able to swap their CPUs onto the same motherboard. And with the 10% who care, about half of them don't upgrade often enough to even use that as an advantage.
don't think intel GPUs are going to pop up, you have Nvidia 4000 series that are better and now 5k series coming while in value AMD is there giving better price/performance.
Zen6 X3D comes out CES 2027 that’s 15% better than 9800X3D. Where will Intel be then? Panther Lake that might match 13th gen performance? It’s time to stick a fork into Intel…
Has Intel really been in the discrete gpu market anyhow? A generation behind with ARC. Potentially falling further behind with Battlemage. Investors are looking for them to stop the bleeding.
I don't see why AMD would need to release earlier. They've got intel lapped for at least the entirety of next year with zen 5, no reason to release another architecture and with mostly single digit performance gains, better to take the extra time.
@@jamesrock9446 That's a very enticing price these days... The gap between current gen and last gen computer hardware prices are finally getting back to normal!

ZEN 6% Let's go!!
at least its a +6% not like the blue guys thats a -5%
Better than -5%😂😂😂😂
just wait for 3xd variant 3x6 = +18%
hopefully intel gets their shit together in CPU and GPU market. We need more competition for better prices and more performance
Depends on who buys them and IF they end up getting bought.

When an APU with RDNA 4 is released for Desktop, I will change my 5950X, but my dream is this APU has X3D, maybe in 10 years will get there.
They'll skil to RDNA 5 with Zen 6 Cores with APUs.
Hopefully 🤞 Intel can pull themselves out of the hole they created
