Years ago when I was at the Capital in Springfield, IL they had the Gettysburg Address on display and I stood there and read it written in Lincon's own hand. I can't even begin to discribe the mix of emotions I felt reading it. I say with reverence and hope what was said back during the war by my ancestors who fought for the Union. May God save the Union from our domestic traitors who would inslave those looking to be free.
Excellent tour. I have a book that talks about Lincoln visit Gettysburg and I have to say it goes exactly as you are describing it now I can't wait to go to Gettysburg soon.
Probably the best Gettysburg related RUclips handle of all time! Congrats and well done. And as an Addressing Gettysburg regular...well that makes you legendary.
@@philphucas3663 sorry it took so long to respond! But I was trying to find a name that would poke fun at people who don’t like Sickles! I like the man he was a scoundrel, but you needed guys like him to work there type of “magic” as well!
Well done! Excellent educational video, and great example of how a walking tour communicates the information better than a driving tour. Keep up the good work!
Don't miss Gary Casteel's shop as you coming up the Baltimore Pike towards the red brick main cemetery gate - great Gettysburg monument replicas on display and for sale!

I constantly hear about the confederate victory on the first day of the battle. It must be pointed out that it was simply a tactical victory, but a strategic loss. Gaining the town but losing the heights eventually causes them to lose the battle. This victory and the victory at Vicksburg, will make the ultimate Union victory a forgone conclusion.
Excellent program!

Thank you for showing the first Jennie Wade house. I've tried to look up the original house with no luck.
I'm glad to be the 400th like, very nice video. I live in Hanover and love Gettysburg, my favorite place in the country..
A great time in history to remember and keep the memories alive
I world like to visit Gettysburg some day! ❤
You don't realize it but you caught us as we were turning left near the Farnsworth House for a tour. We're the white jeep!!!

Great stories! Thanks for the video.
Thanks Chris for the walking tour. And Kris for your efforts 💯👍👊
Nice of Chris M and Gary’s son to make a video for this momentous event
the past is speaking to us, present day. If we don't pay attention there are those who would tear us apart as a country.
Great job, Kris and Chris. It was also good seeing you record the parade, today.

Make no mistake folks, this video is also a great tour of the town's buildings and history.

Gettusburg
Gettisburg...would be the correct pronunciation. LoL
I’m all about correct pronunciation and all but it’ll always be “Gettiesburg “ to me.
@@McNair39thNC I agree that it sounds better that way. But I respect Kris for doing it correctly.
Nice nod to the paranormal side of Gettysburg. At least you didn't ignore it. 😊
Did Lincoln drink liquor ? If so, what was his favourite tipple ?
No
Nice job Guys, but Ike left office in January 1961, so the celebration would have been then, not 1960😁
I've never seen a sycamore tree not near a body of water.
How can anyone claim to know how Samuel Gettys pronounced his name considering he died in 1790?
Its getteeesburg
Don't mention that to any James Gettys descendents
Only to those who aren’t from there
