Thanks for the informative review Anthony. As always with your reviews very honest with pros and cons of the vehicle and how they compare to other vehicles.
I just test drove a Camry SE, and was not impressed by it at all. I would totally get a loaded Civic instead. I test drove a CR-V in the past too, and I think Honda interiors are better put together.
I have to agree. Also the level of equipment in the Civic Sport Touring vs the Camry SE cannot be compared. Toyota did some questionable things in the Camry’s interior; Mainly the XLE’s gross use of microfiber on the doors and dash.
@michaelnash2972 in pricing it can as a se is around this price with an option or two. I’m a none biased reviewer and unfortunately the increase of price can get you a bigger vehicle with close to the same MPG but it still comes down to the buyers preference.
I test drove a new 2025 Camry SE and a new 2025 Hybrid Civic. Camry still feels like a Toyota. It feels like a boat lacking character. I wasn't impressed with the driving dynamic...the suspension, steering just didn't wow me. The cabin also feels cheaper with the buttons not giving feedback as nicely as the Civic. The Civic on the other hand feels so refined, very sharp. The interior is so much better as well. I'd go Civic any day.
I’ve been joyfully driving my Honda Civic Hybrid Sport Touring for a month now. I look for errands to have an excuse to drive. Love watching the Power Display!
When are these car companies going to realize that those 18 inch wheels fitted with rubber band tires are not feasible for road use in North America!!!
One big problem - the pricing: Camry SE or Civic hybrid? Camry SE is slightly larger; it has a little more power; it can be optioned with AWD; it comes with 8-way power adjustable seats and lumbar support. But the advantages of the Civic hybrid are subjective: a more refined hybrid system, better ride quality, with nicer styling inside and out. I'm going with the Camry for its track record of reliability.
That was my issue as well. I wanted the touring because it wasn’t that much of a jump in price from the sport hybrid (3k or 4k I think?) and had the leather seats, cordless CarPlay and cordless charging but I ultimately got the sport hybrid model because honestly I hardly listen to music etc in the car believe it or not. Seats and charging were no issue. I don’t regret my purchase yet and don’t think I will. I really wanted the black wheels and didn’t want to have to bend over backwards to try to get them swapped on a touring.
Great review Anthony. Honda did a great job with the refresh and that mileage is amazing! I had a 1986 Si and I loved that car. I think this car as it is would be a great commuter. Hyundai always gives more for less and the Sonata would be a tempting alternative. It was only 114 here today ..brrr lol and it dropped into the 90s because we had a storm. No rain but lightening to start a couple of wildfires. Not close but it is smokey and awful out. Luckily I do not need to go out. MB is really confusing and so is BMW (at least for me. I almost bought an S class 20 years or so ago. I loved it but I was so used to driving trucks and SUVs so I ended up with my X5. Hopefully the workers will keep forging ahead there. How are things on your side? Hope all is well and happy Saturday Anthony.
Thanks James and I agree it’s a great vehicle. The SI is just a touch better lol unless a person wants a hybrid. That’s good you are away from the wilder fires. At those temps hopefully you were able to stay in doors. It’s nice the temp dropped. Here we had a light rain, seems like every day now and it is around 88 tonight. I know what you mean BMW and Mercedes keeps changing everything with these labels. For most of the 2025 BMW will only use the i for ev but for the x5 they still have it lol. Happy Saturday James
Dont be fooled this car is not pulling 50 mpg. On reddit real life usage is seeing under 30mpg in many cases. I almost bought a Touring yesterday and questioned why its only showing 28mpg average on a 40 mile tester. Came home and there are endless people complaining about not being able to get over 30mpg. The 50mpg is one of these extreme conditions and driving super slow.
@HawkeyeRides It would have been very easy to keep the manual though, Honda had all the stuff from the previous years of this generation of civic to do so. I understand manual are a niche thing and most can't drive them. I also understand that auto manufacturers are being pushed into making everything hybrid/electric. I get it. But not everyone wants a hybrid or electric. I purposely got a sport trim level civic so I could get the k20. The 1.5t are absolutely horrendous. They have proven that over the last few years with all the troubles they have had. Yes I'm aware that the hybrids come with a 2.0 which if I'm not mistaken is the same 2.0 as the lx and the sport just with hybrid stuff attached. If that is true then there's definitely no excuse for honda to not make a manual.
Nice review. Honda should have used the last Insight's tail lamp design here, it would have ROCKED in the looks department. This sedan tail lamp is very Miss. It would have been better a bit slanted upwards instead of slanting downwards or red bordered the whole tail lamp.
Honda should improve at least passenger seat and add lumbar support into both, Civic is not cheap!!! I’ll say more, they should offer sdditional features as extra: HUD, 2nd row air vents, breaks upgrade
@@kevincambron4859 it’s around 500,that’s not going to make a huge difference with the price. The vehicle itself has went up not so much the features and the Msrp is within the first 2-15 seconds for full brake downs. I do not hide anything 😉

There is a big difference with reliability. VW would last 2 years and would cost you a fortune. It is over engineered German design. Honda, however, would last you 20 years and easy to maintain because of its simplicity.
