I just got about halfway through this video and realized it's the exact same route I took yesterday following my friend who was riding my Honda Sabre VT1100C2 to Hyser Cycle. Sounds great! Weird coincidence lol
Great bikes that will run forever with basic maintenance. I found trying to jet mine with open pipes to be a exercise in frustration. I eventually tracked down a set of used stock pipes for $180 on ebay. I hate loud pipes if I want to get people's attention I hit the horn 140Db of Denali sound bomb air horn gets their attention faster than pipes that just give me a headache after an hour down the highway. Especially riding up into the mountains. Solid rock to one side just blasts the sound back in your ear, and uphill the motor is working harder so it's even louder. Stock pipes all the way open pipes are only good for drag bikes anyway. It's like cutting 2 feet off the bottom of a ladder and taping it to the top trying to make a taller ladder. Put one on a dyno and it becomes obvious hence why guys put lollipops in their open pipes to try to get some back pressure back. You gain about 3hp at wide open throttle at the top of the powerband, and lose power everywhere else.
I ride a '96 vt1100 with 56,000 on it now and by engine braking, I'm still on the original set of brake pads front and rear. Engine braking works very well on these bikes and you only need to use the brakes when coming to a complete stop. The sound is...well let me just say, it's the same cadence of an old John Deere tractor, so loud exhaust only makes it sound like you're bailing hay on steroids!
BooYeah! I love my VTC1100. Has just about 70 thousand on it now, and still going strong. Comfortable, big tank for the remote long rides And a real stump puller of an engine. And somehow it gets great gas milage for a big bike. Take care of it - they don't make 'em any more. 8^)
@@nightkast0 I was surprised. Min has a decent sized tank ~ 3 Gallon. The weird thing about the VTC1100 is if you put a pipe like the Jardins and without a baffle, the gas milage jumps to 50 MPG. Sounds better too.
Did you do anything to the pipes? I have the exact bike and mine doesn't sound like that. I am looking to change the pies to get a deeper louder sound like yours.
Just purchased a 2006 VT1100C for $3700 with only 1255 miles on it. Original tires date code 0206. Pull-back bars. Looking forward to spring. Getting new tires. All stock and hope it sounds similar to yours. Haven't got it registered yet. My fifth bike, but has been a long time since my last one. My favorite so far was my 1977 Yamaha Maxim 650 4 cyl. inline, 4 carburetors. Maybe this one will be my new favorite, or at least hold a spot "up on the mantle" with the Maxim. Safe riding to you, Sam.
+David OneTon Congratulations on the purchase. Wish I got as good of a deal on my shadow. Getting a good sound out of these 6 valves is pretty easy, in my opinion they sound better than harleys.
Thinking about getting into bikes. Would this be a good starter bike? I really love the way these type of bikes look. Very aggressive and comfortable ride.
Shadows are awesome bikes and will treat you well, easy and comfortable to ride, very simple and easy maintenance. I have jumped from many bikes and in my opinion the shadows are what i found the most enjoyable for that style of bike.
Most of the users are driven with such silencers with which bought a motorcycle and the exhaust sound like. I like the sound of my faders but your silencers are also not bad.
+Giuseppe Padellaro These handlebars were already installed when I bought the bike. Compared to the stock bar on a standard spirit these are just slightly more aggressive with its "ape" style. Also slightly pulled back to the rider. I know that doesn't answer your question but gives you an idea on what to look for.
+Mr. Sam Braxton (SamXJing) Thanks! by the way, I love your bike! I just got a 97 VT1100 and getting it ready for the spring.... but mine Has the original taller handlebars which are too much curved for me....
Sounds almost stock...my '97 1100 spirit had slash cuts but they were way loud. Replaced with stock mufflers which reduced HP but made the ride more enjoyable. My bike seems to backfire now and then when you back off the throttle quickly; I notice yours does not.
you need to get some more air in that exhaust dude.. its to quiet. my VT1100 shadow sounds great,, not like a bubble machine... the vance & hines straight through is ideal
Because the older 1100s were single wrist pin cranks so they loped like a harley. The newer (2000s) have a double wrist pin crank so they lost some of the big twin lope.
The older.. pre 1990 VT 1100'S had a higher compression ratio also which will contribute to a deeper exhaust note and more of lope due to slightly different cam timing I believe. Don't let it idle below 1000rpm +/- 100rpm though. Upper end can starve for oil according to Honda.
"That was fun." All that needs said. Nice video man. Cant wait to get my 1100 ace back on the road
Sounds like my 2004 VT1100c. I like the engine breaking sound too! Thanks for showing it off.
I just love these videos when it's winter time and I cannot get my Shadow Sabre 1100 CC out!

I hope to be riding one soon, Bought a 2002 in EC . Always love the looks of theses Hondas .

Best bike ever. I love mine and its pretty fast too ;)
You can go on high speeds cruising without having any problem

I have a 2002 vt1100c with 49k miles how long do these bikes last I just changed all fluids with oem Honda fluids and new spark plugs
Poppity pop. My '03 VT1100C does the same on throttle roll off even with Cobra slashcut slip ons and carbs re-jetted to spec
I have a 98 1100 and it sounds awsome.
Im rebuilding a barn find now. same bike this video makes me want to get it on the road so bad!!

I wish for a fuel injection kit sometimes but I do love my 1100 Shadow.
I’ve got one!
I’m laughing at the “long rides” comment here because mine only gets 120 to a tank hahaha

@@michaelcoslo6497my buddies call my 1100 the Honda Davidson for how loud it is. I’ve been moved to the back of the pack because of the decibels XD

Great bike man. I have a 2002 1100 spirit. Is that the normal exhaust on it? Did you take out the baffles? Mines sounds nothing like this
It does not have to be a Harley to give fun to drive Honda Shadow :)
Love my shadow 1100
I found an 05 1100 Spirit with 8,839 miles. It hasn't been running since 2018. What would be a good price

Yeah they are great bikes to start on. This vt1100 was my first bike and it was great getting around.

Andy Romero Roadburner 2.5 inch Street Pros
They sound great
Cobra?
Vance & hane?

Doesn’t sound like my intruder 800. I think they’re about the same speed
sounds great

Raio traseiro da Shadow 1100 algum compatível
I wasted so much time with boring 4 cylinder sportsbikes...wish I would’ve bought one of these V-Twins instead.
ah.. that deep prrrrrrrrrr

Idk why all these shadows sound so much different than my 86 vt1100c mine sounds like a harley at idle

You call this a great sound?
Hampir Davidson terkutuk 😂😂😂
And then there is the Vance and Hinze sound - ruclips.net/video/axqJtbXGK50/видео.html
Being loud to compensate for being not worth listening to.
double pin engine sounds lousy...sorry...buy a single pin vtwin for the sound
Sounds like crap!
